Today Sona was very happy. Everyone was congratulating her for the successful presentation. Her ideas were fresh and seniors were impressed by her as well. She just could not wait to tell Elina all this. Her team mate Christi whispered to her "You were outstanding. All the seniors seem to be highly impressed by you. "
Sona smiled, "I was damn nervous out there...I hardly noticed anyone. Was worried about fumbling in between my presentation."
Chritsi,"Oh my god...you looked very confident. Everyone is talking about you today. At this rate you will become Senior Engg in no time".
"Hell no...I want to take my time Christi. I am in no hurry to reach at the top. Plus I am still learning." Said Sona.
"Did you notice our CEO?He could not take his eyes off you"Christi was excited.
Sona:"I am yet to meet him."
"Oh you are in for a treat. He is so so so good looking. Every girl here is in love with him, but looks like none of us are good enough for him."Christi informed her.
Sona laughed,"Don't worry...I won't fall in love with him".
"Will see sweetheart!" Christi winked.
Meanwhile at the top floor of the building Dev was restless in his cabin..He opened Sona's file for the tenth time and started reading it.

He remembered a phone conversation six years back
"Elina, I need to talk to her please. I need her contact number now. Something is definitely wrong. Sona can never do this to me. Please ,please ek baar meri usse baat kara do. I promise this is the last time I am disturbing you ..." He had begged, literally.
"Oh Dev, why don't you understand..she does not want to talk to you. And if you really love her you must respect her wishes."Elina explained.
"I don't care ...if she wants me to leave her alone she herself have to tell me that on my face.", now Dev was getting angry.
"She already wrote a letter to you regarding this Dev. Please let her move on with her life."
Dev started,"Usko mere sawalon ke jawab khud dene honge. I don't care about that bloody letter".
Elina,"She just don't want to talk to you. And Dev, She is getting married next month. I would appreciate if you..."
Dev didn't hear what Elina said after that.
And that day Mr. Devrat Dixit cried for the first time after his father's death.
"I don't know this time whose fate is cruel :yours or mine Sonakshi." He whispered and dialed Aditya's number.
Adi was expecting Dev's call but not this quick.
"Hello Adi, I would like to meet all the new hires today itself."
"Sure Dev, but only Sonakshi has joined us last week."
"No problem. How does her schedule look"
"She is free right now"
"Great..send her in my cabin."
Sona had just bought coffee for herself when she received the text that the CEO wants to meet her.
"Looks like I am always running in this office .Wow...I reached the top floor in 3 minutes ..that must be a record"She thought.
Aditya was waiting for her outside.
"Sona..finally you will get to meet our CEO"
"Any tips Adi?I mean he is the boss afterall"She asked.
"Hell no...just relax. He is a nice guy."Aditya replied while opening the door.
"Sonakshi...I would like to meet you our CEO,Mr. Dev Dixit".Adi said.
Looking at the person infront of her the coffee cup slipped from Sona's hand splashing its hot content on the floor.
"This cannot be happening".She looked at him with shock and confusion.
Dev smiled, he just could not help it."Hello".
Out of nervousness she bent down to clean the floor with her bare hands.
"Miss Bose, leave that. It is not your job to clean the floor."He came and stood infront of her.
Sona was sure she will faint now.
Aditya was witnessing the strange conversation between them. He could sense the tension so he decided to break the ice.
"Dev, this is Sonakshi Bose. She has joined my team last week. Basically she is also from Delhi"Added Aditya.
"Adi...there is an issue with the supply line to Ohio. Can you please take care of that today? "
"Oh ok.. I am on it " saying this Adi left.
Now Dev and Sona were alone in the room.
Dev was just observing her and Sona was too shocked to react.
"Please be seated Miss Bose" He said finally.
Shakily Sona walked towards her chair. Fate was not on her side today. Her high heels got stuck to the carpet and she stumbled right on his arms. She closed her eyes hoping all this to be a dream.
"What do you want from life Dev?"She had asked.
"I want to be successful Sona. My family has seen tough times and I don't want them to go through that ever again. What do you want from life?"Asked Dev
"Not much...I just want loving and caring husband and a dozen children and a happy life"She replied dreamily.
"Uske liye to main hoon hi..wait! what?A dozen?!"
"Well yeah...why not?"She laughed at his expression.
"Mujhe bahut paise kamane honge fir to"pondered Dev.
"Are you proposing marriage to me Mr. Dev Dixit?"
"Oh that I will someday. Ye to bas uske baad ke plans hain" He smiled.
"Itna confidence??What if I say no?"she asked
"Then I will kidnap you and take you some place far far away Sona"
Dev looked at her. To be honest he had enough time to prepare himself for this meeting. He wanted to act like a professional .But he did not knew that she still had the power to take his breath away.
"I hope the coffee was not too hot?" He asked again.
She shook her head.
"You don't need to wear high heels if you are not comfortable in it" He said softly.
Sona nooded, avoiding his eyes.
"You do realize that you will have to look at me at some point of time?" Dev asked.
Sona looked at him now.
"Hi"..said Dev.
She just looked. His brown eyes were full of genuine concern for her.
"I think you have sprained you ankle. Do you think you can walk?" He tried his best not to look concerned but failed miserably.
She nodded.
