Devakshi FF:Love Actually!!! New Update:Chapter 29: Page 96

Hi Everyone...Firstly i would like to introduce myself. I am one of those silent readers who suddenly thought that its high time to become active. This is my first attempt to write a FF. Hopefully you all will like it. Also I am trying to improve my English writing skill here so any kind of constructive criticism or suggestions are most welcome.

Character Intro:

Devrat Dixit:Similar to the character in the serial KRPKAB.
Rich, Suave, Handsome businessman with troubled past. He is at this position today only because of his hard work and sacrifice.

Ishwari Maa: Exactly as in serial minus those weird insecurities.

Sonakshi Bose:She is not a dietician here.That is all needed to know at this point.She used to be extremely shy and naive girl but now she is confident women of substance.
Also she belongs to a rich family by birth.

Neha,Nikki, Riya- the same

Bose family-the same

The central plot is as follows:

Dev and Sona were neighbours in Delhi and eventually they fell in love when they were in their teens.. But as destiny had it they get seperated due to loads of misunderstanding.Their breakup was a bitter one.Now since this is a love story, the hero and heroine had to meet again right? 😃 So they meet after 7 years. Both are completely different person now..atleast so it seems!!!



Note: The story starts at present time but there will be loads of flashbacks every now and then. Also i might take some reference from the serial but the main story will be my own.

CHAPTER 1:

Present day: New york

The cab screeched and stopped..waking Sona up.At last she was here..in the New York City..her dream city after she started dreaming big.

Who would have thought that a shy,low self esteemed girl who had always led a sheltered life would dare to take decision of going for higher studies outside India. It was not an easy decision but needed to be taken. Last two years went by in a blur. The need to be par excellence was so high that all she did was study. But after two years of mind grueling schedule she decided that the time is right to move to New York city in search of good career, afterall..it was a place where dream gets fulfilled!

She was just 26 years old ,attractive and matured girl with an Engineering degree in Electronics from India and master's degree from Virginia.

Sona was not surprised to see Elina waiting for her down the street. Her cousin was her support system and she knew she is always welcome at Elina's home .

How was the journey Sona???Did u eat anything???I am about to cook some Bengali food for lunch. Let me know if you have any preference..."..Elina rambled on.

Sona smiled...she was glad that few things can never change. Her talkative cousin has switched on to the protective mode.

"I am fine..everything is fine.. and yes I did eat something..for god sake calm down and let me enter your apartment and then we will talk properly", Sona replied.

"Oh sorry sorry..let me help you with your luggage..By the way I am still very angry with you..you moved to US two years back and forgot all about us...imagine my shock when you called me last week to inform that you are shifting to New York City." Elina continued.

Sona explained"Well yeah, I needed some change...And you know Elina I was busy with my studies...wanted to do something really good with my life. This is the first time I have taken my studies so seriously. I will try finding my own accommodation soon..."

Elina interrupted:"Are you kidding me?? Your own accommodation?? Am I a stranger to you??Enough of your bullshit... you are going to stay with me till the time you are in New York..Am I clear??"

"Ok ok my darling stranger, your wish is my command" Smiled Sona.

"Fine... now tell me about everything you did in the last two years, and I mean EVERYTHING!"probed Elina.

Sona burst into laughter "There is nothing to tell...I did well ...my grades are excellent and I am here looking for a good internship which I hope I get pretty soon. I want to be independent first and after that will call Maa,Papa here as well..."

Elina:"Sona...i know u did good...but apart from studies etc what else is new??? Any boyfriend???Tell me something naa"

It is difficult to render Sonakshi Bose speechless...but Elina did it. Frankly speaking since past two years she did not even think about making friends..forget boyfriend. Something inside her is still hopeful...but hopeful for what???And why??Especially when she moved all the way to different continent to run away from the memories.

Sensing her discomfort Elina stopped. She mentally cursed herself for spoiling the mood of her beloved sister."I am sorry Sona...I did not mean to make you sad"

Sona:" Oh shut up..i am not sad..just a little tired..your house is pretty Elina."

Elina:"Thanks...this is because I cleaned my home for you :P...you really thought I have mended my ways and become neatness freak like you??"

Sona smiles :" I knew it...you will never change..but don't worry..ab main aa gayi hu naa."

Elina:"Ok ..so what is your plan?"

Sona:"Nothing much..I have applied to this company.I have cleared all their interviews. There is this last HR round tomorrow which is mostly a formality. Once I am done with it we will go explore this city tomorrow. And you will be my guide.

Elina"Sure thing mam..i will drop you tomorrow"

After unpacking her stuff Sona gazed out of the window to admire the view. She still could not believe that she is in New York City. She was excited and nervous at the same time... Finally...

" New York...one chance...and I will just run to New York"..he used to say.

"why you hate Delhi so much Dev??"Sona asked genuinely.

"I don't hate Delhi Sona...but New York is my dream", Dev replied.

"And what about me...you will run to your precious New York leaving me here then why don't you just leave me now...make it easy for me...", Sona replied tearing up.

"It's a city Sona..not any girl that you are so jealous...and who told you that I will leave you here..you will also come with me..."

"Really??"

"Of course" Replied Dev wiping her tears.

The mobile ring brought Sona back to the reality. It was her parents.After talking to them she hung up .Its been seven years and everything is still fresh in her mind. She tried her best but could just not get rid of his memories.

"Sona ki bacchi...from tomorrow a new chapter will start in your life. Stop thinking about past and start living your life ."She muttered to herself angriliy and went to sleep.

The next day Elina woke her up and strictly instructed her to dress up well as these things are taken seriously in the work place.

"I will eat something after the interview Elina..right now my appetite has vanished. Just drop me at this address and I will give you a call after the interview...ok?"

"Ok Sona...all the very best..I know you will rock it.." Elina chirped.

They arrived at the venue. Sona got down and bade Elina goodbye.She was about to enter the building when Elina called from behind.

Elina:"Arey waise which company are you interviewing for??I forgot to ask".

Sona:"Well it's a new company but has become very successful in short span of time. This was what interested me the most"

Elina:"ok..name?"

Sona:"Ishwari Enetrprises...now I have to run..chalo catch you later..bye bye".And she ran inside the building to catch the elevator right on time.

Thanks guys...this is my first attempt to write a fiction so i am little nervous..ignore the typos..Encouraging words from you all is all i need 😊

Chapter 2:

To say that Sonakshi was nervous would be an understatement. She was panicking and she didn't know the reason behind it.

She tried to compose herself..."its just an interview...even if they don't offer you the job you can always find some other job in this city". She told herself. Finally she was ushered in the HR's office.

The guy taking her interview was pleasant man named Steve. Everything went on smoothly as expected. He liked Sona. She is bright, beautiful and intelligent -He noted.

"Miss Sonakshi Bose..you have a great resume. I want to conclude this interview. Is there anything you want to ask us."Asked Steve.

"Ummm..yes. Can you please let me know ASAP if you guys want me here. All this wait is making me pretty anxious" Replied Sona.

Steve:"Well of course we would hire you. Our company needs young and hard working people like you. Once we agree on your salary I would like to start with the paperworks if you don't mind. If you want you can take some time to decide and think about the offer."

Sona:" I will take this job"

Steve:"Wow.. that was quick".

Sona:"yes...I can't wait to start earning my own money".

Steve:" I am glad...I am sure you will love it here. The atmosphere here is very positive and welcome Sonakshi!

"Thanks a lot", smiled Sonakshi.

The entire afternoon passed very quickly. Sonakshi was very happy and could not wait to share the news with her parents and Elina.

"So from tomorrow you can start with the work. As you are new to this company you will be working under Mr. Aditya Kapur for a while. Once you are comfortable enough to do independent work you will be on your own. Good luck!" Said Steve.

"Ok Steve. I must go now".. Said Sonakshi and was about to leave when Stever stopped her.

"Listen Miss Sonakshi..there is one more thing..The CEO of our company always likes to meet the newly hired personally but since he is not in the city at the moment you will be meeting him next Friday when he is back." Informed Steve.

"Sure Steve. I would like to meet him too. Now that I am finally working here may I know our CEO's name please?"Inquired Sona.

"Its Mr. D..." .Sonakshi's mobile rang at that precise moment.

"I am sorry Stever I will have to go now..Will see you tomorrow" Mumbled Sona and rushed outside as she was getting repeated message from Elina to come fast.

Elina was overjoyed with this news and dragged Sonakshi to the city for treat. Both sister had fun filled day.

Elina:" Oh my god Sona...can you believe it...few years back all you wanted was to become a housewife. And look at you now. Miss Sonakshi Bose...you are an inspiration to me . By the way you are going to take me shopping when your first salary comes. Promise me?".

"Sure my darling...anything for you." Laughed Sona.

"By the way who is your Boss??? Is he goodlooking??Is he Indian or American???The name of the company is Desi so it must be some Indian." Asked Elina.

Sona:" No clue yaar...and how does it matter if its Indian or not. I will be going there to work my dear sis".

" You are so boring Sona. Bas parhai and kaam...isko chorkar bhi bahut kuch hai life main. You are in one of the best city of the world sweetheart. Open your eyes and look around. Kismat badalte der nahi lagti." Winked Elina.

"I am already happy with what I have..aur kuch nahi chahiye mujhe apni kismet se" Said Sona.

"Ok...then tell me one thing...you are an excellent student..but why did you choose New York of all the place. You could have gotten job in any city you wanted."Asked Elina.

"I don't know Elli...its just that when I thought about working...New York was the first place which came to my mind. "replied Sona.

"hmmm... and I thought you came here because I stay here" pouted Elina,

"Drama queen...you go to college here..after one year who knows where you will be. But yes knowing that you were also here was a big help as I knew I will not be alone."

Hearing this Elina hugged Sona.

The next day Sonakshi reached office on time. She was introduced to her team members. Everyone was friendly to her and made her feel welcome. The work which was assigned to her seemed pretty interesting too. Everything was going great. Her mentor Mr. Aditya was pretty impressed by her and called her in his cabin.

"Sonakshi...you are a quick learner. So I am giving you one more important task. As you know we are working on this project and there are multiple of solutions to the problem we are facing. Why don't you make a presentation suggesting your ideas and if they are nice we will discuss it with senior management. But I also don't want to overburden you. So let me know if you think you can do it:". Asked Aditya.

Sona could not believe her ears. Few days into the job and now she is asked about her opinions. She happily took the responsbility.

"Also Sona...important people will be there in your presentation..so let me know if you face any difficulty or confusion. We are all here to help. Just make sure you give your very best."Said Aditya.

"Sure sir...when do I need to present" asked sona.

"Friday..let me know if you need any help...and you can call me Adi..Sir makes me sound like an uncle."Laughed Aditya.

Sonakshi smiled and nodded.

She has two days to complete this task...oh well!!!!
