I really dont understand why he wants to hide his relationship. I know ppl hide it because they are not sure ...or out of fear ,lack of acceptance from family etc but in his case he is confident that his family will stand by his decision ...he is sure that he loves her and wants her through out his life..so just wondering what is stopping him from telling the world.

His statements like..Sirf apne liye chahiye!!..Chupake rekhna !!...Sabse bacha ke!!...Kissi se share nahi krna chathe'!!

Just cant figure out this character ..very complicated .. I think mom and son shares a similar shade of a dangerous character wrt love - Shade of obsession

Mom is so obsessed with son that she is not willing to share her son with anyone to such a level , she doesnt want her son to have a life partner.😭

Son is so obsessed with Sonakshi that he doesnt want to share her with any one and keep her to himself ...neither will he marry her and become her life partner nor will he allow any one else to be her life partner.😭

Agreed yesterday's episode was very good . It had , the first date , first kiss on the forehead , first fight , first direct confrontation betwn Iswari and Sonakshi...a lot of firsts ..but what stood out is the similarity betwn mom and son's level of obsession that arises due to insecurities when it comes to some one they love.

Completely agree with you. Both are actually insecure. Ishwari brought him up with this one weaknesses. It will take time to change...

While I liked the episode, what I am not able to understand is about his statement on his turn to sacrifice. Heck, he has been sacrificing all his life for his family and he does not know that?

Apart from this, fine episode.

Great analysis!
Just offering my two cents..
What I noticed since the past few episodes is that Dev is a highly flawed character. Adorable? Yes. But, flawed. And Ishwari is partly to be blamed for that.. He had a tough childhood and that has taken its toll on him, and Ishwari expecting him to be perfect all the freaking time has not helped matters at all.. Dev has always been an overacheiver and he therefore has a tendency to equate happiness with material things, a fact that has been highlighted time and again.. What worries me most is how scared he is of Ishwari.. he has been so accustomed to always being the perfect son to his perfect mom that the mere thought of upsetting her sends him into a frenzy.. Shaheer potrayed Dev's emotions brilliantly yesterday, when they showed that though Dev is telling sona that he's sure that his family won't have a problem with their relationship, there's a part of him that doesn't believe his own words.. and Sonakshi sensed that as well..
Dev is himself like the khargosh that he so affectionately calls his girl, when tough times come, especially in relation to his mother, he prefers to close his eyes and pretend everything is hunky dory instead of facing things head on..
Sonakshi is a much needed influence in his life as she nudged him to tell her without fearing about disagreements.. that is the beauty of their relationship, that even if they don't agree on all matters they are still madly in love..
Sorry I'm going off track but I loved how casually they showed the forehead kiss.. like its become a habit for him to kiss her like that.. it shows that the makers are taking a different approach by not focussing too much on who is touching who's hand and the physicalness of it all.. they are giving the viewers discretion to assume things of their own, which the writers of our forums do very well, with so many wonderful OS and SS depicting various scenarios!
Sorry I went on too long! Don't mind my blabbering!

Totally agree with you . He has doubts if his mom will support him. And Sona is sure that its not going to be easy being in love with this guy and his family. You could sense her silence...its like the silence before the storm. She knows its coming and nearing .If you noticed most of the episodes he wants to stay connected to her, he initiates the hand holding, hug , even the forehead kiss as if it was the natural thing to do. But Sonakshi on the other hand pulls herself back . This was not the case in the beginning. Its like she is trying not to go overboard, stay grounded.. so that she will be able to handle herself later in case something goes wrong.

Well written (original post and responses) :)

Somehow after watching yesterday's episode I ended up feeling bad for Sona being caught in the midst of this complex Dixit family dynamic. Strangely enough I did not get that feeling because of that scene with Ishwari because that one actually made sense. She does not know they are in a relationship so she can feel emotional about her son not eating something she knows he loves and which she made with a lot of effort. My mother is that way too, she makes stuff that is unhealthy but will obviously be hurt if we avoid it completely.

I felt bad for Sona after her cafe date with Dev actually. The vibes from the scene indicate a relationship driven by him - when to get into it, when to make it public (even when it seemed to mean a lot to her to go public but he dismissed it rather casually), when to stay apart with little room for her to influence any major milestone. Even all the love that he showers on her somehow could not banish that feeling..

I really liked this line in another thread...Sona needs to move out of Dixit house, needs to stop roaming the house looking for someone to heal...Her value in his life is not on account of her ability interfere and help him resolve his family issues. I so want her to have a life of her own..Post the accident phase, that aspect diminished on the show, everything about Sona became about Sona-Dev whereas there are many things about Dev on the show that have nothing to do with Sona..

I for one will be very happy to see scenes with Sona unrelated to Dev. Right now it seems that if their relationship is strained she has nothing else in her life...I would not relish seeing the Sona of the first 45 episodes end up that way...

Absolutely!! Exactly what I was thinking.. I'd made a post about this sometime back, Sonakshi does have that intuition that even if Dev is promising her the world right now, she's not sure whether he's gonna be able to keep those promises.. Dev behaves like a love struck romeo when things are fine but when the tough times arrive, he believes avoidance is the best solution, just as he didn't wanna share the flat issue with her, just because he knew it would break their romantic bubble! In this relationship particularly, I end up feeling bad for sona and as I had mentioned once before, the bose family scenes only reinforce that fact that sonakshi, a girl that has such a loving and uncomplicated family is thrown into the complicated mess that is the Dixit fam!

Yes! Sonakshi bose is a very strong character, someone with whom a lot tof us can relate.. I would love if they explore more shades to her and have Dev work hard to keep her in his life.. as it is he's gonna break her heart, I hope he atleast works hard to win her back

Yesterday more than Ishwari and Sona's confrontation scene, I felt bad the way Dev got up and went. Yes , I understand he was very upset and probably didnt know how to control his anger and decided to leave.
But by doing that he was contradicting himself. When she had came home after the fight with out telling him, he said they had to resolve before they leave and not walk out. Yesterday she sat there as promised by her.
I think some one else in this forum did mention the same thing . I liked our old Sonakshi the fighter!! Here I feel she is giving in and again silently accepting the fact that she has fallen big time for some one who is very emotionally vulnerable. When she said , even if you leave me I wont , he did not reciprocate by saying he will do the same...rather was very happy to hear that from her.
Like Ishwari's character , slowly Dev's shades of Grey is being highlighted by the CV team.

I am eagerly waiting to see Grey Shades of Sonakshi . That would be interesting because when pushed to corner , with this mix of maturity , righteousness and humble nature , hopefully our CV team will come up with befitting shade of gray for her too. Surprising not just the Dev family but even us !!
Hoping to see a strong stubborn lead lady who is going to make Dev literally plead with her to come back to his life!! 😃
Am I being partial to Sonakshi...ofcourse yes!! not going to fall for all his good looks, cute and charming words for her 🤣.. Jokes apart , her expression during the discussion at the coffee shop about their relation clearly explained her mind

Dev with Shades of grey with layers of obsession & possession?! 😆 Just like Ishwari!!! Sounds scary!!! 😆 Anyway the show has taken possessiveness to another level with Ishwari's character.. So even the word possessive, possessive sounds scary, scary now!!! 😆
And I don't know why I liked the silent Ishwari who was giving a cold treatment to Sona... That Ishwari was really terrorizing unlike the one who is now talking and threatening Sona... Like a typical MIL who never fails to do that the moment DIL comes in.. Rules and regulations of the household... And the Ishwari who is vocal about her silent complaints to Dev and the moment he does something to soften her, she goes all smiles... That Ishwari had a real impact on screen and Supriyaji nailed it so very well...

The scene between Sona-Ishwari, I liked Sona in it... The way she silently bore the wrath not knowing what to make out of it... But Ishwari was way dramatic there... I didn't like this Ishwari !! I liked the Ishwari who looked at Dev in awe when he drank the turmeric milk in one-go on Sona's say 👏!!!! Silently hurt and not knowing what is happening within her!!! I could empathize with that Ishwari.. This Ishwari is outright a MIL material!!! 😆

May be one way to make Sona sense something about the situation... Hope Sona doesn't behave as if nothing happened, the next day... She should be smart enough to understand it's not just the diet control irking issues about her children... Much more than that and something specific to Dev... I think we might see few more instances to make Sona understand that...😉🤔

In case of Natasha, we at least got to see Ishwari's self-talks where she was worried inside everytime Natasha thing came up... There she didn't have a reason not to accept the relationship but didn't know why she couldn't accept it... She was confused with her own state of emotions then...
Here she has found reasons to not accept it even before it's coming out in open... Like Dev didn't tell her about it... There is no confusion about her emotions because it's all hidden behind the simple logic of "My son didn't tell me!!!" But that's not all... Even her future behavior might be tied to this very reason?!! Not sure how the makers are going to bring out the real thing coming out of this myth?!!
