Great analysis!
Just offering my two cents..What I noticed since the past few episodes is that Dev is a highly flawed character. Adorable? Yes. But, flawed. And Ishwari is partly to be blamed for that.. He had a tough childhood and that has taken its toll on him, and Ishwari expecting him to be perfect all the freaking time has not helped matters at all.. Dev has always been an overacheiver and he therefore has a tendency to equate happiness with material things, a fact that has been highlighted time and again.. What worries me most is how scared he is of Ishwari.. he has been so accustomed to always being the perfect son to his perfect mom that the mere thought of upsetting her sends him into a frenzy.. Shaheer potrayed Dev's emotions brilliantly yesterday, when they showed that though Dev is telling sona that he's sure that his family won't have a problem with their relationship, there's a part of him that doesn't believe his own words.. and Sonakshi sensed that as well..Dev is himself like the khargosh that he so affectionately calls his girl, when tough times come, especially in relation to his mother, he prefers to close his eyes and pretend everything is hunky dory instead of facing things head on..Sonakshi is a much needed influence in his life as she nudged him to tell her without fearing about disagreements.. that is the beauty of their relationship, that even if they don't agree on all matters they are still madly in love..Sorry I'm going off track but I loved how casually they showed the forehead kiss.. like its become a habit for him to kiss her like that.. it shows that the makers are taking a different approach by not focussing too much on who is touching who's hand and the physicalness of it all.. they are giving the viewers discretion to assume things of their own, which the writers of our forums do very well, with so many wonderful OS and SS depicting various scenarios!Sorry I went on too long! Don't mind my blabbering!

Totally agree with you . He has doubts if his mom will support him. And Sona is sure that its not going to be easy being in love with this guy and his family. You could sense her silence...its like the silence before the storm. She knows its coming and nearing .If you noticed most of the episodes he wants to stay connected to her, he initiates the hand holding, hug , even the forehead kiss as if it was the natural thing to do. But Sonakshi on the other hand pulls herself back . This was not the case in the beginning. Its like she is trying not to go overboard, stay grounded.. so that she will be able to handle herself later in case something goes wrong.

Well written (original post and responses) :)Somehow after watching yesterday's episode I ended up feeling bad for Sona being caught in the midst of this complex Dixit family dynamic. Strangely enough I did not get that feeling because of that scene with Ishwari because that one actually made sense. She does not know they are in a relationship so she can feel emotional about her son not eating something she knows he loves and which she made with a lot of effort. My mother is that way too, she makes stuff that is unhealthy but will obviously be hurt if we avoid it completely.I felt bad for Sona after her cafe date with Dev actually. The vibes from the scene indicate a relationship driven by him - when to get into it, when to make it public (even when it seemed to mean a lot to her to go public but he dismissed it rather casually), when to stay apart with little room for her to influence any major milestone. Even all the love that he showers on her somehow could not banish that feeling..I really liked this line in another thread...Sona needs to move out of Dixit house, needs to stop roaming the house looking for someone to heal...Her value in his life is not on account of her ability interfere and help him resolve his family issues. I so want her to have a life of her own..Post the accident phase, that aspect diminished on the show, everything about Sona became about Sona-Dev whereas there are many things about Dev on the show that have nothing to do with Sona..I for one will be very happy to see scenes with Sona unrelated to Dev. Right now it seems that if their relationship is strained she has nothing else in her life...I would not relish seeing the Sona of the first 45 episodes end up that way...
