balancing relationships...

like one of my friends said and i agree that dev needs to learn to manage relationships but i am coming to that...i absolutely understand the way dev is behaving in love...look at this guy...all his life he has been only like a guardian of his family...taking care of their needs (mostly material needs), taking care of business and so on with no time for himself and his own dreams...in fact he never even realized till sona came into his life that he also has the right to dream for himself...so now he is constantly telling sona that he cant live widout her even for a second let alone wait a whole week to meet her...he will then literally die...if any other character i wud hv felt these lines as cliche and OTT...but for dev its so understatement actually...sona is the only person in his life in whose presence he not only can feel complete but with whom he can share everything under the sun...he can expose his vulnerable side, his weaknesses, his flaws...with her he can cry, weep, smile, laugh, make jokes, make silly comments, can be romantic, can be angry, can be upset, can dance in the rain...he can hug her, he can melt her with his looks, he can look into her eyes for hours and wat not...i mean today she is his world...i agree dev has equally close relation with ishwari but with her he needs to be on guard...there is one reason that he does not want to burden her with his own troubles therefore he cannot be open with her with everything...and dev is also aware about his mom's possessive nature for which he still cannot tell her the truth about sona...with ishwari he is her son and protector of dixit family...there has never been a friend-like relationship with ishwari...similarly his bond with his sisters has been on the material basis...meeting their material needs...any kind of emotional bond it is developing now, again after sona's entry into his life...so it is sona with whom dev can be anyone he wants...
so it is natural that everything sona tells him he takes that to the heart and accepts that as integral part of his life...wen sona told him to be careful about his food habits he took it in literal sense so much that he does not even want to take one spoon of unhealthy food...however wen he learns that ishwari has made halwa he as usual started gobbling it till he remembers wat sona said...here is wat dev needs to realize how to balance between relationships...obviously sona cant be wrong about diet and all but taking one bowl of halwa made by his mother cannot violate his diet plan...at all other times of the day he can follow his diet but once in a while taking such food is allowed...wat i liked is that later in the evening dev had the entire halwa only to make ishwari happy...its not that dev is not aware that how his actions can hurt or please ishwari...its just that in a natural process dev has fallen in love and he is starting to compartmentalize his life...of course he now needs to gv time to sona previously which he used to gv to ishwari...other than office all his free time belonged to ishwari...but now he has to divide the time between the two most important ladies of his life...i actually felt bad for ishwari that she was sitting at dining table till late for her son to return...i mean as a businessman its not unusual he is coming late at home but we now know y he is late and i am sure ishwari suspecting the same...however previously dev used to call ishwari at all times but now he doesnt even call to tell he will be late...this is where dev is going wrong...i can understand dev not being able to spend as much time with ishwari as he used to do before after all days still hv 24 hrs only...however he shud also ensure that his mother doesnt unnecessarily worry for his tardiness or feel hurt by his apparent neglects...ishwari on the other hand needs to gv space to dev...he is grown up man now and has all the right to hv a life of his own and also there can be some things which he will not share with her and that does not mean that he is going far from her...it wont do any gud for her relationhship with dev to always make him feel guilty for his closeness with sona or for coming late or for not taking food made by her...it is quite natural for children to refuse food made by mothers...but i am loving these little issues being shown in this serial making it so real...all these r so part of our real lives...
another thing i want to say here...sona has promised dev that she will never leave him even if he leaves her...i am sure dev will depend on this promise wen he will be "forced" to distance himself from her because of ishwari...because of this promise made today dev will hv faith that sona will patiently gv time to this relationship even if dev apparently severs this relation..

And I also feel the same.dev's inability to balance the relationship and that results in giving him guilt. Because of that his love life with sona will suffer..In all this I am curiously waiting how sona will face these situation as a mature, self respectful lady .

I agree so much! Dev needs to balance between the two. He needs to divide his attnwron equally! And moreover both women also need to understand each other's presence in Dev's life. Ishwari needs to understand what Sona represents in his life and Sona needs to understand Ishwari's place in Dev's life. Then only the three can be peaceful with one another
