Too much is being said and posts made for a Responsible Dev V/s an irresponsible one!!
But let's take a step back and see shall we...

Neha had to take care of the family like Dev did. Neha was the care giver while Dev was the bread-winner.

Dev acknowledges that Neha lost out on her childhood... but it isn't like Dev was living his. The Gola story also mentions the same thing, he would run and get a gold for Neha while Neha would only look at why the gola is melting...

Poor Dev... Nothing he does seems to satisfy the family, does it. A number of people mentioned that Dev has ignored his sisters... but seriously have the sisters also made any attempt to bond with him... As siblings, how come they didn't share his pain, how come they were not a part of his journey.

Ishwari was Dev's responsibility and why none of the sister's shared that. They didn't need Sona in the first place..

How can any one expect a young kid to work to study to provide for his family to try and build a business empire and then complain he doesn't have time to spend with his sisters.

Ishwari was working initially to take care of the family but when Dev took over what stopped her from trying to bond with her other two daughters. It's not Dev's responsibility alone.

Ishwari didn't think of the two daughters and their loneliness she was focused on her own. She didn't think of Dev's pain... again she is focused on her own.

Dev has been working since he was barely 10. Providing for his family. From rags to riches...

Not only his family he is also supporting his mama, mami and cousin...

Isse jyaada kya?? aur kitna kare koi insaan!!

In such a large family how come no one knows him... They all expect him to provide love attention, support, money... but refuse to be a shoulder that he can rest on.. Refuse to give anything else back to him.

Onus of spending time with Neha is not Dev's alone... Neha even put a condition on Dev make Ranveer rich and I will forgive you for all I went through... Why should Dev need her forgiveness in the first place. Where is the unconditional love of a sister.

Who does Dev blame? Who should he go to?

Why was he so lonely in his journey before Sona came along!!

There is one simple logic as to how this world runs !!

Keep gratifying expectations ...u r the best ...one instance...mind u just one instance can make u falter in their eyes !! such fickle is this world !!!

80 % goodness stands nothing against 20 follies !! This is the way of the world and sadly the person who always gives , people forget that he can be needy too , no one goes to ask how he / she managed ...only the outcome is important sadly ...who cares about what went to get it all ! The truth is no one cares a damn and this is straight out of real life !!
So who is the selfish one here ...lets do some self introspection !

Well said dear ! Indeed this world is filled with hypocrites. One can never please everyone at the same time. Dev is a human - he is beautifully flawed and I believe if a person truly knows him then, they would know he IS best son, best nephew, best brother, best partner. He tries - the efforts he puts into it - that is more than enough - one need not look at anything more. He doesn't need to prove himself. Poor lad has suffered so much. Indeed every member of the Dixit family has suffered at the hands of fate. But this poor boy alone has striven to unlock there shackles on him -not caring of himself anytime. Humans can rarely be selfless. Through this journey he lost the ability to express, to feel - he only did, provided. No one saw through his toil, his pain - it is always - HE, HE and HE! What responsibility did he slip up pray I ask you ? Why is it that he always has to take up a responsibility ? Do no other person owe anything to anyone? At the young age of 27 he has every single burden upon him. When for once, he tries to enjoy different colours that have entered upon his life - lord knows what all he is going to face for that. His mother's doubts, accusations of viewers!

Keep up the good work dear !!😳👏

Such an amazing clarification...so love this...! 👏
It is Dev who always does everything for everyone, no one in the family does not care about his feelings much not even Ishwari. She always takes Dev for granted. I am not saying Dev does not have any faults but it just that "Selfish'' the word does not suit himself, it is too strong to describe Dev as a character.
Our problem is we always think leads of the show should be flaw less but in reality no one can be flawless. Dev does mistakes and his great virtue is that he tries to rectify his mistakes as soon as he is aware of this. That makes Dev character real and for the same reason we like him this much.

You did a good job of saying that 👏

Selfish is a big word and only a few are honest enough to acknowledge it. Is Dev really a selfish brother? NO not at all. He is a sincere son and a caring brother who does not have any expectations from any of his family members, in a way he only knows how to give, keep on giving and never expects anything in return. He is the sole breadwinner of the family, the caretaker and the most generous person in the Dixit household. To be precise his world revolves around his mother and his three sisters. He is such a selfless person, he never thinks about himself and his priorities, thus when it struck him how he spent some sparing moments for himself on his sister's wedding day, he felt guilty. Which made me think so his journey with Sona will always be guilt-ridden? Then I feel sorry for them. He has to stop feeling responsible for everything he cannot do for the four ladies in his house. He has to let it go. After all he is a human being and he cannot be perfect all the time.
