Happy Saturday everyone😊The life of a KRPKAB fan has been pretty touch recently. How to survive the weekends?😆I am actually enjoying the weekend! We've had a MANIC week and it's nice to get a breather from it all. So I watched yesterday's episode and felt like writing a little bit about it. Not a lot, just a couple of paragraphs.
Pyar hai bachpana. Pyar hai paagalpan. Pyar hai jhukna. Pyar hai manana.
Dev and Sona despite being mid 20s professionals have never dated before let alone fallen in love. It's so refreshing to see how two mature people begin to discover themselves through being in love. For Dev and Sona, getting used to being a boyfriend/girlfriend will be a tad confusing. How do you adopt the mindframe of being someone's beau or belle? How much do you play hard to get but also show attachment? We've seen this already when Dev drops Sona off after being late. That awkwardness of saying adieu - Sona made the first move of giving a sweet hug. How do you ensure that you live up to each other's expectations and demands? Dev's need to be with Sona all the time 😆and yesterday, Sona getting upset and moody when Dev doesn't turn up for breakfast. These tiffs and making up moments will enable Dev and Sona to not only learn how love will change them, but also to learn what each other are like.
I like how Sona's use of Bengali is increasing more and this time, it went over his head 😆He will learn slowly how not to piss a woman off😆Anyway, when Sona challenged Dev to eat the chillies and she stated how women like a man of his words, I thought, yep, here's a woman who will wear the trousers in the relationship😆I also didn't expect the writers to use the tried and tested mirchi scene to evoke feelings of sympathy and love. I've seen it happen in the movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (lovely movie) and I am wondering whether being a Salman Khan fan, Shaheer Sheikh added some creative input?😆Also saw him in that recent romantic segment with Sona in a saree, pulling her nose up like in the song 'Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan.'😆Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised to find this scene make an impact and actually revealed more about Dev and Sona, as lovers.😊Dev displayed a man who was stubborn and mad, wanting to bear the punishment put forward by Sona. I especially liked the part where he bites into the first chilli and then scoops the remainder from the side of his mouth.A Dev Dixit before falling in love, would have found the whole concept ridiculous and laughed it off. But he bowed down and in order to win her over, he accepted his punishment staring directly into her eyes to prove himself. What a change! Sona would never have thought he would have taken her words to heart and gone ahead with the punishment. Her reaction of shock and hurt where we saw her for the first time, shed tears, was a beautiful insight into what Dev means to Sona. We've seen Sona express panic when Dev has shown the slightest sign of being hurt or ill. An example being post accident when she wakes up. But as a girlfriend, we saw her crying because he was hurting and because she felt guilty and horrible for subjecting him to pain. The mutual care and respect Dev and Sona have for each other was nicely conveyed. In fact, dil kar raha tha, ki I keep on watching them converse and discover each other in that scene.
As his eyes began to well up, Sona stopped him immediately, burst into Bengali and pulled him to the kitchen.I thought she would have fed him honey, but milk it was. 😆But you could see Dev still in that moment of feeling the discomfort from the chillies and being hurt for upsetting Sona as he sits down. Beautifully emoted by Shaheer. And seeing Sona cry, he himself is surprised. Never had anyone taking care of you and cry for you before, have we Dev? He doesn't want to see Sona cry at all. This is what I mean about the lovely way in which Devakshi as lovers are learning about each other and about themselves. And I am so glad that Sona chose to stick to the 'aap' instead of 'tum.' From her mouth, the respect and affection with which she says it, suits their relationship :) The way she scolds him, tells him to shush and sit down was so adorable. And whilst cheering each other up, it was endearing to see Sona pull Dev up for calling her Miss Bose 😆These two!Dev Dixit is learning how to face the wrath of a woman😆No but seriously, this scene was more about showing that both Dev and Sona are equals in their relationships and that both have a lot to learn. I mean Sona is surprised that Dev can be so romantic and think of buying her a gift😆She also learns that she can't say she 'loved him.'😆That will upset Dev😆And Dev wonderfully says that he is still learning about himself😳More of this please!
A request to the CVs - can we please get a scene where Devakshi are outside somewhere? It could be a place of importance in either Dev or Sona's life? Maybe add some wonderful scenery? Lakes are romantic. I just want to have some beautiful visuals😆I like how Dev is observing Sona in his house from afar and understand the need to have them sneak around at the house. But it's nice to get a change.
Enjoy the weekend peepz!
