It is not that Ishwari is clingy for her son, she has rights to be that too anyway, She knows she is possessive for her son and is intentionally trying to keep away from that angle from his life. She is actually distancing herself from that aspect of Dev.

Still, dont know what exactly would be the issue that would break this lovely bond.
