Sting operation: Gunjan Walia
Actors are facing a strange problem on the sets of Kuch Apne Kuch Paraye. The set, especially created to look like a big haveli, is constantly under the attack of insects, ranging from scorpions to dragon flies to giant grasshoppers. Obviously, actress Gunjan Walia, aka Krishna, is having a tough time shooting. Just last week, Gunjan found a red scorpion on her sari. Gunjan recalls, "I was preparing for a crucial scene that day and was wearing an embroidered sari. As I was discussing the scene with one of the crew members, another guy from the production house screamed out, pointing at me. There was a red scorpion on my sari! He plucked it off swiftly, but I was completely taken aback. It made me shudder just to think of it crawling over me. And to think that I could have been seriously poisoned by its bite."

"As the set has been constructed in a village area of Ambeth, which is surrounded by a dense jungle, these creepy crawlies are all around, and difficult to avoid. But we make it a point to keep the doors of our rooms shut every time we enter or exit. Now, I'm always careful to check out my dresses before wearing them," she adds.

Gunjan has one more scary incident to relate. "A few days ago, as we were relaxing in the garden during our break, when I had another narrow escape from being bitten by a scorpion. The place is full of other insects too. The lights used for shooting often attract these insects. There are jumbo-sized grasshoppers and dragon flies hovering all around. We face great difficulties to complete one scene because of these insects."

So, did they complain to the production house? "It's nobody's fault. The haveli has to be situated in a rural area, as that is an integral part of the story. All we can do is get used to the presence of the insects," Gunjan replies.

Actor Chaitanya Chaudhary, aka Uday, adds, "We have to get used to them, as there is jungle around. Even I always keep the door of my room shut properly. I guess with the insects, we have to follow the policy of 'live and let live'
