Shuklain's positive trait

Renee, an interesting topic and a beautiful post but I guess I partly agree with what you say.

I don't think her character was ever confusing. She was and has always remained at the same point, oscillating between being a calmness and anger. I wouldn't call her turning positive. She never really turned positive, ever. She had calmed down, yes, but her inner core remained the same, selfish and self-centred.

I wouldn't say she was evil, no she wasn't evil but was she good? The answer is nope. Not really. She was always selfish. And selfishness is not good.

When Krishna first came to the house, Shuklain hate her for a number of reasons - she was educated, she influenced Radhay in all possible manners, Radhay left the house for her, tried to start studying for her, even put himself in harm's way for her. Shuklain hated her for all these reasons and probably more.

Did she ever understand Krishna, I highly doubt. There did come a time when she became calm towards her - calm, not warm. It was during the divorce time and when the brother of BS had reentered the Shukla clan, do we get to see a calmer Shuklain, mostly for her own selfish reasons. She knew there was no one else who would be able to sort things out.

Krishna being Krishna went out of the way to go save BS and Radhay from the death and of course, saved Shuklain from the clutches of BS's brother. As a reward to all this, Krishna was to use the money and go and study in London! In those moments, you could've also called BS as a positive person but it was very soon clear, that he can not ever be positive.

Shuklain, if ever was positive, or good she would have thought at least once when asking Krishna to dive in cold water, Krishna was suffering from fever then. I would not even talk about the hair cutting scenes. When the Shukla clan left her at Veer's party, Shuklain did not even want to think or talk about her. She did not want anyone to go looking for her.

She never looked back at Krishna, the woman who had saved her and her family. She forgot everything Krishna had done for them. She did not even trust or cared about Krishna when her character assassination was done by Bela and Veer. The threats she gave to Sunaina during that small encounter at the vegetable stall also says plenty about Shuklain.

I won't call her evil, certainly not like Shukla, but she is not good or a positive character. Not as bad as Bela, but certainly a very selfish character.

I don't think Shuklain realized what Gaj and Lalia wanted her to realize. I don't think what Shuklain asks Shukla is for Krishna's sake, it is only for Radhay's sake.

As for Krishna, well, she always thought of Shuklain as a mother and when she did the lunch, she felt she had gotten her mother back.

I hope, that somehow Shuklain does evolve into a better person, but I just am not too sure.
