Well, dun worry Caryn. Vinod said the movie will be playing for at least 2 months. he will take me after 30 days only naa. I got over it already. Since ur winning, let me know wat ur want k??

Ambi, if ur in malaysia, she wud definitely share that with you gal 😆

So mummy, when are you going? I am working this weekend, so a bit hard for me. Definitely want to see it though....I think Kamal was ambitious and was seeking for self-glorification. Even Hollywood greats such as Henry Fonda (I saw his one-man play on Clarence Darrow) have not done it. Nadigar Thilagam was different; his roles personified the nine emotions and there were no cross-dressing or attempts to act as a white man or a Sardarji or a Japanese. If I were from these races, I'd feel insulted. 😆

Apparently, Dasavatharam is doing well.. VERY WELL w.r.t Box Office collections. As per Economic times/India times article, it is one up (to Sivaji that is!). This is good news for 'Ass'car and all Kamal fans.

Excerpts from the article:

Coming to the domestic market or rather the regional market, Kamal Hassan's Dasavataram raked in Rs 3 crore in Chennai, and Rs 21 crore for the whole of Tamil Nadu. In the non-Southern markets, which got about 80% occupancy, the film grossed about Rs 60 lakh in the first three days of its running.

The film is anticipated to rake in close to Rs 100 crore as its theatrical revenue at the end of this week, as Chennai theatre owners state that the bookings for the next 10 days are house-full. If compared to Rajnikant's Sivaji the film grossed over 25 crore in its first one week. Given the current figures, Kamal Hassan is currently one up.

👏 👏 👏

This inspite of all the geeky/nerdy bad reviews from desi blogs abroad. I think the problem with reviews on the blogs is that, these Kamal fans expect something like a MMKR mixed with Indian mixed with Mahanadi mixed with Aboorva Sagodharargal mixed with all other Kamal's hits in his 10 avatars. When you go expecting something from Kamal in this magnitude, and not just going to see a film for what it is, then one's surely disappointed. And they come and fume in their blogs.

It looks like that has not affected the people whe were determined to watch it anyway. Madras is still going houseful - even on advance reservations - so is NY/NJ area movie theatres releasing it. So, I don't see any negative impact yet on BO from these bad reviews.

Ambi, today a well-respected Tamil movie reviewer in our national newspaper gave a very good and glowing review abot Dasa. So it is one of those films that get mixed reviews, I guess. I hated Sivaji but my family loved it.

You're welcome, Netra! 😊

The look (and the beard) Kamal's sporting is for his new movie "Marmayogi". Most magz suspect that.

Honestly guys.. I have not yet seen Dasavathaaram.. But we gotta give it to the team for daring to make a movie that is different. Maybe, I'll not like the movie, but I would definetely appreciate the sp. effects and the different thought process that the team had.

It would be anyday better that some of the ordinary crap that the Kollywood churns out frequently!! 😃

Dasavatharam box office records

Dasavatharam, which is still a week old, is booming
well as days pass by. Some sources also say that this
film has lived to the people's expectations and is so
loved to such an extent. The world wide collections
speak the fact that Kamal is now a world renowned hero.

The Malaysia's film collections which were accessed
yesterday and they disclose that this film has bagged
the second position in the Malaysia film industry and
is standing in second position of the film industry. With
the film grossing almost $600,468 from 54 screening
theaters this film is just behind the Hollywood film
"The incredible Hulk".

The United Kingdom collections reports reveal that this
film has till date fetched almost $278,389 and is in 11th
position on the UK top ten. Sarkar Raj is being pushed
by Dasavatharam to 17 positions.

The United States collections reveal that this film grossed
almost $478,425 and has been placed at 13th position.
But even more delightful, news is that still this movie is
running full for almost 6 days and till 25th of this month
the theatre shows has become full.

The Indian collections are yet to be fetched and may
be available in two days.

Great going Kamal and your Dasavatharam.
