South Indian Actor Raguvaran died in Private hospital

Villain actor Raguvaran on Wednesday died at a private nursing home in Chetpet. He was ailing for sometime, and his end came this morning. Born on December 11, 1948 the actor had entered filmdom through the film
Ezhavadhu Manidhan and acted in Poovizhi Vasaliley, Mister Bharath, Anjali, Mudhalvan, Basha, Sivaji, Bheema. His last film was Sila Nerangalil which was released last month. Besides the Tamil films he has acted in Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi films.

He married actress Rohini and was blessed with a son. Due to misunderstandings between the actor and his actress wife, the court gave them divorce. However, Raghuvaran used to frequent Rohini's house and Rohini was also visiting his house with her son.

On hearing the death news of the actor, actress Rohini was shocked and immediately visited the house of Raguvaran. She wanted the body of Raguvaran to be handed over to her for cremation.

Many film personalities who came to know about the shocking news immediately cancelled their shoots to pay homage to the villain actor.

Raghuvaran was living alone at his T'Nagar house in Chennai. The actor had carved a niche for himself with his style of acting different from the earlier Tamil film villains.

i don't know what to say.. raghuvaran's demise is a HUGE loss for kollywood.😭😭 honestly i haven't seen a more classier villian than him. in every single film of his, he performs in such an unforgettable way that you will be in awe of him.👏👏

i feel very sad that i won't be seeing raghuvaran's wonderful performances on the silver screen anymore. he'll be greatly missed.😭😭 may his soul rest in peace. my condolences to his family especially his little boy.

I love all his movies - he was such a charismatic actor. I like his role in "Anjali" (1990 release) as actress Revathy's husband Shekhar.

Shekhar and his wife Chitra have 2 children and decided to have a 3rd child but unfortunately baby Anjali was born a dying autistic child. The hospital authorities and Shekhar decided to keep the child's illness as a secret from the mother. Thus the family were made to believe that the child died during delivery.(But I was wondering how come their so called dead child was not given a proper burial nor the wife made any attempt to query about it??!!)

Raghuvaran excelled in his performances as the loving husband and dedicated father fighting off his emotions to keep his family intact when he finally decided to bring his mentally retarded child home. He had to fight for his child Anjali rights as she was not only rejected by her siblings but also by the representatives of the colony they live in - who feels that she is a bad influence to the other growing children of the neighbourhood.Of course Baby Anjali not only managed to win the hearts of her brother/sister but the whole colony too who went mourning after her death.

I will never forget Raghuvaran's excellent performance in this movie as its still so vivid in my memory. Good-bye Mr Raghuvaran may your soul rest in peace. 😭

If he was there in a scene, he would be the centre of attraction. Such was the power of his presence.Only a good actor can enjoy that privilege.

A mal channel telecasted a movie of his yesterday night, I cudn't bear to watch it. Its so sad to think I won't be able to hear the powerful voice which I was so fond of, again 😭

I so agree with Sue. His role as a family man in Anjali is my favourite ever. Modern man with traditional values and he complemented Revathy fully.

And I thought he looked distinguished in Muthalvan tho he was the villain.

When he got married to Rohini, I was thrilled because I like her too. Pity it did not work out.

There is a pic in the local Tamil newspaper showing Rohini and her son wailing beside his body. Really sad.

RIP Mr. R. You'll be sorely missed.

Yes, he had one of those amazing screen presences.
He always did justice to his roles and he could
outshine the heroes with ease. He is one of those
stars who had a pathetic personal life. May your
soul rest in peace Raghuvaran, you will be missed.
