I've seen many old films, and also from what my parents, and other friends say, I can gather that Jaya was certainly not where Rani is today. In people's choice awards also, Rani has won many awards. For example, my dad and his friends are big Amitabh fans and were crazy abt his movies. And Rajesh Khanna's as well, they used to watch their movies like 25 times, and when I asked him abt who was the actress everybody was most crazy abt he said that Jaya, even though she was a good actress, noone was really that crazy abt her like they were with Hema, Zeenat Aman, Parveen Bhabhi...

And Rani will never be forgotten, she is an amazing actress and most of all she has won the hearts of millions, and she has reached the heights she has today only because of herself and her own talent, not because of a big name behind her.

its funny b/c my parents and friends say the exact opposite as yours. they said that jaya bachchan was at the top.......difference of opinion, thats all it is.

and jaya was a big star before she even married Big B. so she had become what she had all due to her hard work and not some backing by a big name too.

and if we go by awards then dharmendra must be the worst actor out there b/c with the exception of the recent lifetime awards he has never won anything! awards prove nothing!

popularity has nothing to do with being a good actress. you cannot compare the likes of zeenat aman and parveen babi (sexy sirens) with jaya bachchan. they worked in different genres of films.

and only time will tell if rani is forgotten or not....she has a looooooong way to go.

Kajol is very natural, shes always bubbly, and talking frankly. so she isnt aritficial.

rani when she was on the show it seemed like to everyone that Rani had problemsn with Kajol and not Kajol! coz it was Rani who wasnt taking, Kajol was talking she was at her usual best.

I dont hate Rani. shes a fine actress.

my advice to her: dont show emotions of her lives on screen. coz she kept quiet on the show, it looked Rani "hates" Kajol, but never looked from Kajol side.

if there are probs going on with rani and kajol, then why show onscreen in front of million of people in india and worldwide, that see o yeh am not happy with her or him, so am not going to talk.....just be urself be normal, be genuine.

RANI being quite wasnt her natural or genuine side. Coz I believe Rani is very kind, gentle, talakative with everyone. SO I THINK ITS WRONG TO DO IT IN ONE SITUATION THAT TOO WITH HER OWN SIS LIKE KAJOL.

I find this whole topic very ironic. People are leaving no stones unturned to offer their opinions on how artificial and fake rani is while bashing her freedom of opinion. Just because she is an actress, she is not obligated to suck it up to the other people whom she does not like on screen. And she also has the right to praise any actress whom she genuinely admires.
In case you guys haven't noticed many people use silence as modus operandi to deal with people they don't like. Personally I think she handled the conflict in a much more dignified manner than Kajol.
And the fact that Rani Mukherjee gets along well with the big shots just goes to show that she is probably very cordial and pleasant rather than that all the big shots are completely stupid and have been deceived by rani's artificial behavior. And plzz stop comparing her to jaya bachan. I had a lot of respect for jaya but if she has made that comment about rani, who is one generation apart from her, I would really have to think again about how much respect she actually deserves.

Initially I did like Rani ,thought she was a genuine person , but I guess u cant know wat she is just by seeing her smiles in the movies .Only shows like these show their real glimpse when they r not acting !

jaya is also entitled to her own freedom of opinion isn't she? and all jaya said is that she's a well crafted actress........take it either way you want, it could also be a compliment. and your right both are great actresses of their time.

Exactly jaya too is entitled to her opinion so why doubt her abt wat she deserves whereas say watever rani does is right ,even if she shows attitude on a show where she was called to speak a few words !!
