Express Features ServiceMumbai, April 25: WHO knew one girl could cause so much trouble? Actor Nausheen Ali Sardar has warring channels Star Plus and Sony fighting to claim her as their own. Though she's already shot promos for Sony in her comeback as Kkusum, Star Plus refuses to release her from her contract with their beleagured thriller Kaalchakra. ''If she shoots for Kkusum, it will be a breach of the contract she has with us. We've paid a lot of money for exclusivity, that's why the channel has a problem with it,'' says creative director for Star Plus, Shailja Kejriwal. But is that all there is to this forthcoming war? Star's latest baby, Miillee would go up against Sony in the 9.00 pm slot, splitting viewrship between the shows, or possibly even losing out to Kksusum. Interestingly, Sardar's concluded most of the shooting for Kaalchakra and producer-director Ashim Samanta clarifies that her dates for Kkusum would not obstruct his schedule. So it's the channel that's bent on holding her captive. Sardar refuses to divulge details, but admits that she's still not back on Kkusum. ''Following Manasi Roy Joshi's exit, the serial is has been without a lead character for ten episodes,'' says creative head Nivedita Basu, still waiting for a final answer from Star. Will Ekta Kapoor manage to placate her pet channel and get her way? Watch this space as the drama unfolds. TAKE CARE ANOLI XXX |
