After playing Sahil in Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Amit Sarin has decided to bid the small screen goodbye in favour of Bollywood. The actor who has informed Ekta Kapoor about his intentions, is currently shooting the last few scenes for the show.
Sarin says he has an offer up his sleeve but refuses to divulge any details about it. He is "waiting for the right time to announce it". However he insists that "television will always remain an indelible part of my career."
He says: "I will never undervalue the worth of the small screen. It has given me a great platform. But I did not want to ride on two boats at the same time."
Sarin also knows that he has put a lot at stake by taking such a decision. He continues: "I am aware of the risks involved. Not many might do what I did. But I think it is worth trying, so I am taking that plunge."
In Kyunki… his track as Ganga's husband is supposed to be very vital. Speaking about it he says: "I am aware that my track is at its peak. I could have made the most of the popularity and ditched Ekta when the leap (which is supposed to happen on June 7) was just around the corner. But I did not want to cheat her because it would be very unethical on my part and also because she is my mentor."
Sarin further insists that his moving away has been very amicable. Without revealing much about his future plans, he informs: "I have something concrete working out. But it will take a couple of months to get off the ground."
