Minnie HP and his family were happy within their own small world. He being a principled guy has his set of rules which he follows. He was under the impression that his Arohi can do no wrong no matter whatever it is. So today when he thinks she ran away with Punji that garoor is broken. He blames Punji as he is a villian to him and he knows that he was in a girls outfit at the party and he assumes that he came there to kidnap his daughter. So his assumption is not wrong. And far as Karan's truth's is concerned, Karan himself has told him the truth about his marriage. HP has seen the good deeds he has done for the Sharma clan. Punji's good deeds are hidden from him. That's the basic difference..

And he is not alleviating the pain Minnie. He is being a typical father. According to him Arohi is doing unnecessary zid which he does not want to tolerate. Its Arohi's turn to bring all the good deeds of Arjun in front of him and then let him decide.

As far as the zid goes.. I think HP would be naive to think this is just a tantrum of Arohi.. If you've raised your kids for 20-22 yrs and your kid does something totally uncharacteristic.. its time you investigate the matter.. talk to her friends and acquaintances to find out what prompts such a change in behavior! I think being attentive is an irreplaceable requirement for parenting. A 2 yr old's temper tantrum is totally different from a young mature adult's IMHO!
