Mr Mitthal is seeing some guests out and notices Arohi and her father sitting in the sun; he asks an employee who they are; and is informed that the person is Hari Prasad - ex-Principal of Gurukul and has been waiting to see him for the last 8 hours! Mr Mitthal asks for them to be brought in to see him.
Mr Mitthal speaks with DK Punj, informing him of Hari Prasad, as the man who is well-renowned and respected throughout India for his efforts at Gurukul - and therefore being instrumental to their plans.
Arjun's mobile rings; it's Sahil (Mr Mitthal's son). Arjun queries his whereabouts and Sahil explains that he was heading to see his Professor/Guru - Hari Prasad; but his car has broken down and that he will not return until he's met his Guru. As a result, Sahil decides to walk the remaining part of the journey; and on reaching Arohi's house, he spots Arohi's eldest sister, Poorvi, through the window. She mistakes him as the plumber; and the now smitten Sahil doesn't correct her!
DK Punj introduces himself to Hari Prasad and hopes he hasn't been kept waiting too long; to which Hari Prasad replies only 8 hours! DK Punj blames his secretary for not telling him of the appointment; and invites Hari Prasad to the evening party as a performer - offering to pay twice his salary for the evening performance; and any others parties they hold in the coming future. Hari Prasad refuses the offer, explaining that he would sing without payment but to a sober audience; becos he is a person who teaches the art not one who sells it. He continues to explain that he had understood the letter to be from an admirer not a auctioneer; and leaves!
Mr Mitthal is irritated but DK Punj points out that Hari Prasad is a highly-principled and fearless man and therefore dangerous. DK Punj states his admiration at Hari Prasad's style/manner in which he said no - it wasn't at all distasteful.
The younger daughter, Antra, throws a tantrum on learning that their father has refused the invitation/offer to sing; and continues in to the garden. She is interrupted by her bhabhi, who tries to poison her against her father; but on failing, she hands her a new outfit for the party and encourages her to coax her father into attending.
Arohi sits with her father; who explains that he was upset by the fact that he was kept waiting for 8 hours, and whilst DK Punj may have bought the school, he hasn't bought him. Arohi attempts to calm him down.
Whilst discussing good/bad people, Arohi tells her eldest sister, Poorvi, about her meeting with Arjun the previous evening (whilst holding his torn scarf-piece); and suspects from his gestures to be a very humane/caring person. At the same time, Sahil is telling Arjun about his meeting with Arohi's sister (Poorvi) and being attracted to her instantly. Arjun mocks the idea of "love" as being nothing more than a commodity ..........
PRECAP - Arohi and Arjun bump into each other at the dinner; and this time Arjun's view is blocked by Arohi's hair!
