Part 7- Present
Arohi started packing but she had no idea where they are going, Arjun only said, her father is unwell... she needs to tell him everything soon.
Arohi was done with packing, as if she needs much to pack... after all, these things were useless for her, she doesn't wear these kind of dresses or jewelries... she opened the last drawer to take out some flats and found a black looking necklace in the corner, she pulled it out to see, it was a mangalsutra, kept their like nothing more than a trash. Arohi safely put it inside her bag.
Arohi got ready wearing a dress shirt with simple faded jeans (not at all glamorous like Ayesha) and came out sliding her packed bag, Arjun looked at her annoyingly? Why are you not getting ready? We'll be late.
I am ready Arjun...
He gazed at her up and down with a frown on his face... you are ready? Wearing this? And with only one luggage?
Yes I am ready, I don't think I need anything else to put in another bag and I am perfectly fine with what I am wearing, she replied with a smile.
Arjun's mouth dropped open, first she is going out without tons of makeup or stylish clothes, second she is taking just one small bag (Ayesha takes at least 5 bangs whenever she goes out) and third she is answering his taunts with a smile. Arjun shook his head decided not to give her antics much importance.
When they were going to the airport... Arohi asked, "where are we going?"
To your parents house, now don't tell me you have a short term memory loss and I'll have to repeat everything after every 5 minute, he replied without looking at her. Irritation evident in his voice.
Arohi asked in a hope that he will maybe tell her which place they were going but who can blame him, he doesn't know the girl sitting next to him doesn't even know where her own parents lives.
Arohi was panicking by the thought that soon she will have to fool Ayesha's parents also if she hasn't told the truth to Arjun shortly. It's now or never. She took a deep breath and called for his attention.
Arjun, how's he now? My father I mean? Is he okay?
Yes he is in a better condition than before; you asked me this same question 3 times already.
Ummm... A..Arjun I need to talk to you.
I know what you want to talk, don't worry your parents doesn't need to know about our divorce, at least not now when Papa is in a poor condition... He is like a second father to me and I care about him too, so just relax. Well... you never cared about them before but I am glad his condition is melting your heart towards him.
No... I mean yes, he doesn't need to know but I want to tell you something else. When Arjun didn't say anything, she continued... I am not Ayesha, Ayesha was someone else, we both are so different from each other, we met accidently and our life collided, I never imagined it to be turned out this way, whatever happened was still unbeliever for me, But the truth is your wife is no more, she died when she fallen off the cruise. I am just her look alike. I am not... before she could finish, he started clapping and laughing... wow this is different, you know Ayesha in all these months you have made up many stories but this one is hysterical, I can't even stop laughing. Nice one, do you have any more of these stories? plz tell, journey is already getting boring. And I must say this one is my favorite, wow you are not Ayesha but someone else who looks like her, awesome! I wish these kind of miracles could happen, I would really like to have a better version of you. But unfortunately it can never happen and for the time I am stuck with you.
He gave her a glare and glued his face to his mobile, after that convo didn't look back at her again the whole time.
Arohi was disappointed she thought, this is it, she will be out of this mess but all her expectations were ruined by Ayesha's old habit of lying and making stories. Arjun is not believing her now but a simple medical test can proof she wasn't lying about not being Ayesha but now a bigger question is, "will he believe her"?? What if he think of her as an opportunist who wants to take advantage of the situation? What if everyone will accuse her for killing Ayesha, she had no evidence which can prove her innocent. She had the mobile phone when they were arguing at the ship but then everything happened so swiftly, who knows where that mobile phone landed... she lost the only proof she had against Ayesha, this situation is getting more critical day by day... now she just have to wait and see where her destiny is taking her.
Rest of the drive to the airport was quiet, flight landed and they headed towards her house, Arohi was simply staring the view, trying to rationalize how her life changed in just few days.
Arjuhi reached at the Ahluwalia house, It was quite a big furnished manor... so Ayesha was also belonged to a rich family, thought Arohi, her problems only going to increase, she doesn't know anything about Ayesha's family? If Arjun again left her alone at the door, how would she find the way... but surprisingly this time Arjun held her hand and guided inside the house.
When they entered a lady threw her arms around and hugged her tightly, Mera bachha... are you okay Ayesha? I was so worried when Arjun told me about that incident, I wanted to come but your fahter's condition was worse and also Arjun told me you are alright. thank god you are fine... she kissed her forehead and hugged again, It wasn't tough to guess she is Ayesha's mother... then that lady hugged Arjun and they started talking about her father's health. She told them he had a heart attack but condition is better now, doctor's advised to keep him away from any kind of stress as his heart is still weak.
Arohi stood there like a statue, she was feeling really guilty, right now they need their daughter... Arohi's chain of thoughts interrupted by her mother's voice, Ayesha lets go meet him, he is waiting for you.
Arjun pulled her closer and whispered in her ear, Papa doesn't know about your accident in Shimla or any problem going on between us so just play along and pretend that we are very happy with each other.
Now Arohi understood the reason behind his changed behavior all of a sudden when they were entering inside the house, he hates Ayesha but he truly cares about her family, she admires him for that. Arohi nodded and they headed towards her father's room.
Where is Salil and Purvi? Arjun asked to her mom.
Oh Salil and Purvi will be coming in two days, actually Savi had a fever that's why they are late.
Arohi was tempted to ask who are they? But Amrit answered her unasked question soon when she said, Sudhir will be so happy to have both his daughters with him together.
Arohi got nervous by knowing she has to face more people soon, just praying her sister Purvi to not be like Ayesha.
