OS: Jaaniya Dil Jaani

"family" he thought with a smile gracing his lips. It was such a faraway dream for him. He had never imagined he will have someone in his life who will be solely his and then Arohi happened.

He frowned on finding still asleep Arohi. Not that Arohi was an early riser and he is well aware of his wife's sleeping skills but it was unusual of her to sleep till late during weekdays. After their remarriage Arohi had made it her goal to ready her son and husband both in morning. She loved doing that. Therefore by the time he will return from jogging she will be either trying to wake up Raj or choosing his clothes for the day. He steadily moved towards her and stared down at her sleeping form. Burying her face in one pillow she was snuggling other pillow and tightly clutching blanket.

Crossing his legs he laid besides her raising himself on elbow. Seeing her cute face he leaned to kiss her forehead but as soon as his lips came in contact with her skin he sat upright alarmed. She was on fire. He frantically ran his hand over her forehead and cheek to confirm his doubt.

"Arohi" he cupped her cheeks and in response got an inaudible mumble from her.

Pulling out his phone he dialed doctor's number and shouted for Maria their maid, to bring cold water and a towel.

He started pressing cold towel on her forehead till doctor came.

"Arjun" she murmured opening her heavy eyes.

Arjun cupped her cheek "I am right here"

Maria came in informing him about arrival of doctor.

"Nothing serious Mr. Singhania. It's viral fever she will be fine after taking proper medicine and complete rest" he jotted down few medicines and page and handed it over to him.

Arjun sat beside her and brushed hair strands fanning over her pale cheeks...

"u silly woman, I told u to not eat 3 scoops of ice-cream at night but u never listen to me" he said bit angrily...

Arohi frowned..."What kind of husband gets angry on his sick wife? Monster!" she grumbled...

Opening his mouth to argue he stopped seeing her dropping eyes.

"Don't u have to go office?" trying hard to keep her eyes open.

Arjun raised his brows "Now I am not that horrible husband as u make of me"

"I am fine" Arohi whispered holding his hand.

"I know" he replied smiling sarcastically...

Arohi pouted "ur meeting?"

"Billu and Makrand can handle everything without me for a day" he sighed

"but"

"shh" he kept a finger on her lips "What's the use of owning a business when I can't get a day off for my wife"

Arohi smiled at him and drifted to sleep...

"MOM" wearing his night suit Raj entered screaming for his mom.

Arjun sushed him by keeping his finger on his lips...cautiously standing up from bed he walked to where Raj was standing...he bent down in front of him and ruffled his hair "today Dad will ready u for school"

Raj looked past Arjun at sleeping form of her form "What happened to Mom?" concern dripping from his voice.

"Nothing she is just having fever"

"I won't go school today" he announced "I will stay home and take care of mom" he started walking towards bed but Arjun's arm around his waist stopped him from progressing.

"Dad will take care of mom and u are going to school" holding his hand Arjun dragged him out of his room...

Arjun bit back a smile as Raj continued to throw angry glares at him while he was busy in making him wear shoes.

"oye angry young man where is ur tie?" he asked standing up.

Raj pointed his finger at drawer not wanting to speak up. Arjun shook his head and proceeded to take his tie...

"Whenever I fall ill, Mom always stays by my side till I am fine then why can't I do the same for her" he cried not able to keep his frustration in.

Arjun tied the knot of his tie "because I am here for that" he said nonchalantly...

Raj opened his mouth to speak something but Arjun cupped his jaw and combed his hair.

Hanging bag his on shoulders Arjun held his hand going downstairs for breakfast but Raj stayed rooted at his place. Seeing his fallen face Arjun sighed and sat in front of him on his knee.

"Will Mom like when she will come to know that u skipped school for her?" he asked

Raj stared up at him "She will scold me and then will tell about an incident when she herself did the same"

Arjun chuckled and pulled his 7 year old son in a hug "be a good boy go to school and after coming from there u can take as much care of ur mom as much u want"

"Man to man promise?" Raj asked pouting

Arjun shook his head "Man to man promise"

Arohi shuffled in bed trying to snuggle more in the warmth. She buried her face in the source of heat. She felt herself pulled more into warmth as a hand weaved through her hair. She fluttered her eyes open to meet a concerned pair of eyes.

"How are u feeling?"

Arohi smiled looking at him "hungry"

Arjun nodded and using intercom instructed Maria to bring something for Arohi...

"Raj?" she asked throwing an arm over him.

"went to school after throwing few tantrums" he sighed and reached for the thermometer lying on side table.

Arohi opened her mouth as he kept it in her mouth and as it beeped he took it out from her mouth and read it. 101.4 F

"still a bit fever" he said seeing her gaze at him.

Arohi nodded at him "considering how Hot I am this is my normal temperature!" she winked making him chuckle...

"yeah rite" he rolled his eyes.

"huh! Does that mean u don't find me hot?" she asked dropping her jaw drop...

Arjun smirked "even the thermometer finds u hot wifey"

Before they can continue Maria entered holding a tray...taking the tray from her Arjun dismissed her..

"eew!! I am not going to eat this" Arohi scrunched seeing porridge.

Arjun sat in front of her holding the bowl "I am going to feed u this and u are going to eat it...quietly" he said sternly.

Arohi narrowed her eyes shooting daggers at him "Arohi Singhania doesn't take orders fro..." before she could complete a spoon was shoved in her mouth.

"and Arjun Singhania makes sure he have his way" he winked and forcefully made her eat half of it.

In afternoon Raj directly ran to his mom who was sitting on bed completely ignoring his dad who was standing in dad. He sat beside Arohi and launched series of questions on her... "How r u?" "u had ur lunch?" "and medicines?" "why are u not saying anything?" "are u having sore throat too?" "u still have fever?" he kept his hand on her forehead..."where is ther...Dad what's that called with which we check fever?"

"thermometer" Arjun said still standing at door and seeing the scene in front of him with a stern face although he was feeling delighted inside seeing the care of his son for his mom.

Arohi held Raj in her arms as he reached for thermometer lying on table...she made him sit on her lap and wrapped his arms around her "I am fine now Raj. I don't have fever and I had my lunch and medicines"

Raj looked at her "Then why were u not answering my questions?"

Arohi chuckled "cz u were going on and on...not letting me answer"

"oh" Raj nodded realizing...

Arjun moved towards the duo "okay now go Raj...do u ur homework" he said keeping his voice firm

"I did it in school itself and Dad u remember ur promise?" and did his son just smirked at him? Arjun thought stunned whereas Arohi muffled her chuckle...

Composing himself Arjun replied "Let ur Mom rest Raj...don't disturb her"

Raj looked at Arohi and jumped from her lap "offo Mom why are u sitting...just lay down" he pushed her on the soft mattress and stepped down from bed..."I will just go and get u juice and fruits"

Before Arohi could say anything he sprinted away shouting for Maria.

"Unbelievable" Arjun heaved a long breath while Arohi giggled...

It was in no time Raj returned followed by Maria holding juice and freshly cut fruits. Raj hoped on bed and forcibly made Arohi eat all that...both Singhania men surely know how to have their way from her!

After feeding her to fullest Raj sat up on his haunches "ur head must be aching Mom let me help u" he started pressing his small fingers on her forehead...

"No baby! I am fine" stopping him she pulled him in her arms and kissed on his forehead feeling overwhelmed...her emotional eyes met with Arjun's adoring ones...and just like that their eyes shared the contentment of their hearts...

Brushing her fingers through his hair Arohi looked lovingly at Raj who was sleeping cuddling into her...

"oh! So, maa ka ladla finally slept" Arjun commented slipping beside him...

Arohi leaned down and kissed on his cheek "my baby"

"and what about ur this baby?" Arjun asked smiling slyly

She glanced up at him "u both father-son are same...both didn't let me step down of bed even for a minute" she pouted...

"That's bcz u are lifeline of both of us" he leaned in to capture her pouted lips but she stopped him keeping her hand on his chest...

"I still have viral and I definitely don't want to my son to exhaust himself by taking care of his ill parents" she chuckled...

Seeing his intense gaze on her she stopped smiling and cupping his one cheek pecked on other "That's the least I can do rite now" she looked at him with puppy eyes...

"One of the worst disadvantage of falling ill" he complained falling on his back...

Arohi laughed "well the way I got pampered by my husband and son, I might consider falling sick at least once a month"

He threw his arm over Raj and Arohi "so much for attention" he teased

"what did u just said?" Arohi asked narrowing her eyes...

"I just said I Love You" and he pecked her nose causing her smile...

Arohi laced he fingers with his "oh really! I thought u called me attention seeker"

He chuckled and moved their entwined hands to his lips "U gave me chance to escape from ur wrath and u know I don't commit same mistake twice"

Arohi giggled but listening a groan from Raj she stopped her giggles..

"Sleep Arohi...otherwise u will again catch fever"

"hmm...goodnight" she replied yawning

"goodnight" he replied closing his eyes and keeping their entwined hands close to his heart...

"hey Monster" she said after few minutes..

"hmmm..."

"I love you too" and a smile formed on his lips listening his favorite words...
