"Kaha tha na maine....itna bharosa mat kijiye apne us dost peh aur unke ram jaise bete Prem par." Daljeet blabbed on whilst everyone else looked on tensed.
"Kya hua praaaji....jawaab nahi mere sawaalon kah aapke paas? Kidhar hai Prem? Aur Heer woh toh uske saath thi na? Kidhar lekar gaya hoga woh Prem humari phool jaisi beti koh?" she instigated further when no one had any answers trying to act sympathetic at the same time by showing her love for Heer. Everyone else had returned an hour ago but there was still no sign of Heer. She had been the only one whom Prem was dropping off but they hadn't arrived yet!
"Kahin kuch ho na jayei....aapko toh pata hai na parjayiji....yeh vilaati larke kaise hote hain. Agar usne humari Heer keh saath shaadi seh pehle....mujhe toh kehte hue bhi sharam aati hai. I'm sure you understand though." she stated emotionlessly taking a seat next to her expressionless husband on the sofa opposite of Heer's parents who at the moment were in a panic like state and speechless.

Prem had covered Heer with his coat in order to protect her from the rain which was now falling endlessly. Heer had calmed down by now with the help of Prem's soothing and they now sought shelter from the rain under a tree. This was the first time Prem had felt so helpless in his life and due to the bad weather he was unable too contact anyone either. After what felt like days the couple saw a car passing by, Prem tried to stop the driver by waving his hands about and he was successful. Surprisingly the driver was none other than Preet himself who was shocked seeing his
brother and to be sister-in-law in such a state. He immediately got out to help the two of them into the car. Heer had never been so pleased upon seeing someone in her entire life. Her happiness showed no bounds! The truth was she hadn't been worried about being stuck with Prem on a now remote street in the middle of the night, instead she was concerned about her parents. She could imagine how troubled they would be at the moment and this worry had forced her to shed those unwanted tears that she had in the solitude of Prem's arms.
From then on, it didn't take more than a 15 minute drive to Heer's house and upon their arrival they found the whole family gathered in the living room restless with Balraaj pacing the hall way and Teji crying as she sat on the sofa in the centre of the room with Meher on her side consoling
her. It was obvious they were overjoyed on seeing Heer but the state she was in with Prem alongside her was something worrying for them. Why wouldn't it be? Before anyone could speak however, Preet who till now stood behind the couple and out of everyone's sight came forward and spoke up.
"Actually uncle, main ghar jaa raha tha after dropping you aur raaste mein mujhe PB aur Heer bhabhi milgaye. Bhai ki car kharaab hogayi thi aur upar seh yeh baarish ki wajah seh network bhi nayi mil rahi thi." Preet explained everything before anyone could raise any unpleasant questions turning the atmosphere uncomfortable.
This explanation surely did turn things around for everyone as the worry which so far was still evident in their eyes was now nowhere to be seen. Teji embraced her daughter taking her away to her room so that she could change not giving her a chance to even say goodbye to Prem. But it
was understandable that she was worried so neither Prem nor Preet found the behavior odd or rude in any way. Balraaj walked his to be son-in-law and his brother to their car and Daljeet and Balwant looked on devilishly whilst the rest which included Ash, Meher and Vishaka returned to their
rooms tired after the day's events. Ashlesha had been hoping for a huge uproar and scene to be created but nothing as such happened and now she felt the need to get her beauty sleep. She had to look as fresh and beautiful as never before as tomorrow she'd be going out with Meher and
Vishaka but that wasn't the reason for her dressing up so much. Preet would be coming along on their little outing and Ash had developed feelings for him and so she felt the need to look her best. But everyone knew just like Preet even Ash had new guys by her side everyday so they ignored her recently developed obsession for Preet as well.

"Tu theek toh hai na beta?" Teji asked her daughter lovingly as she stroked her hair.
"Haan Maa main bilkul theek hoon. Ab bahut raat hogayi hai. Aap jaake sojayei. Mujhe bhi bahut neend arahi hai." Heer answered convincingly. It was enough to force her mother to leave and assure her that her darling daughter was perfectly fine.
However, Heer wasn't sleepy at all! Although her body was ready to drop dead any second now, exhausted after everything that had taken place that day, her mind was wide awake. Prem had evaded her thoughts as well. He was all she could think about at the moment as she changed out
of her blue and white heavily embroidered chooridaar suit and into something more comfortable too go to bed. Prem honestly was the perfect man for her. He had everything including money, fame and a beautiful home but that wasn't what attracted her. It was his personality! Prem was so patient, loving and respectful towards not only her but her whole family. He had not once touched her without her will making her the least bit uncomfortable. Instead his touch was soothing and
something Heer longed for. She wanted to remain in those protective arms of his forever but she couldn't. Not until they were married at least and then she blushed at the thought of being married to Prem, spending the rest of her life with him by her side. The perfect companion! That's what Prem Juneja was.

The following day, Prem became busy in the preparations for the inauguration of their first hotel in India which was set to take place that fine evening. Lalit was all prepared too expand his highly successful business and was also planning on handing the Power of Attorney to his three sons that very evening at the ceremony in front of the hundreds of delegates and his family and friends.
"Mom.....main Heer bhabhi keh ghar jaa raha hoon. Aapne woh sari di thi na. I still haven't dropped it off and you wanted her to wear it at the function tonight." Preet explained fiddling with the car keys in his left hand.
"Preet! I gave you that sari to you yesterday afternoon to give to Heer when they came to our house. Aur tum hokey....acha go now....lekin jaldi waapis aajana. Mujhe mandir bhi jaana hai." Gayatri agreed disappointed at her's son's carelessness putting forward her own conditions whilst she served breakfast to everyone excluding Prem who had already departed for the office being the workaholic he was. Only God knew how Heer was going to cope with him and his busy schedule. All he did was work and no play. But Gayatri was sure, Heer would be able to change him for the better. Tell him to loosen up and live in the moment. After-all he was just 26! She recalled how Prem was the one who found it the most difficult to adjust in Canada being the second oldest and very shy indeed.
Gayatri had worn the exact same sari on her Husband's first hotel inauguration in Canada and business launch, it meant a lot too her. Now she wanted Heer to wear it. She had cherished it all these years not knowing why but now once she had gotten to know Heer she knew exactly why. Therefore it was extremely important for Preet to drop that sari off in time for the inauguration. She was glad that he had remembered soon enough. It was better late than never. She was sure Heer wouldn't refuse her mother-in-law's desire to see her in that sari.
"Dekha Gayatri....aur sar per charhao isey. Dekha nateeja kya nikla. Not once have I seen this boy serious about something. If he had remembered the sari after the inauguration then?" Lalit complained once Preet had left.
"He didn't did he? You really need to understand Preet. Ghar mein bahut kaam para hai aur mujhe mandir bhi jaana hai, aap nashta kar lijiye. Aur Veera, aaj damaadi ji aarahe hain. Kulraaj aur Gunjan keh saath airport chali jaana." a disheartened Gayatri ordered. Her husband had never been able to understand their youngest son at all. He only needed a chance to point out the flaws in him and believe me it wasn't encouraging. If it had been someone else, they would have given up long ago but Preet being the confident young man he was hadn't. He wouldn't change for anyone not even his father. His beliefs didn't allow him to do so and that was what made Preet......Preet.

The hall was filled with carefully selected delegates from all over India who had graciously arrived to witness the grand opening of the first of many Juneja Hotels in India. The Mann family had also graced them with their presence. One by one speeches were made with Lalit culminating the evening with his emotional yet powerful speech. Soon after, dinner was served and then the moment for which everyone had gathered for, the hotel which was situated in the centre of Ludhiana was inaugurated by none other than Lalit, his three sons along with Balraaj whom Lalit insisted to join them. It certainly was a memorable evening for the Juneja family. Although Prem had been busy with his guests, he left no chance too gaze at his beautiful bride to-be. She was dressed in that stunning white sari gifted to her by none other than his mother accompanied by
simple yet elegant jewelry. Prem was eagerly awaiting for a chance to speak to her, perhaps spend some time alone with Heer and now that he had that opportunity he wasn't going to let it slip away now was he?
Their families had left already in separate cars, Heer had no idea of this as she was in the washroom. Our darling Prem however had promised to drop her home immediately and told the rest to leave. Now how soon was this, only time could tell.
