Chapter 2

'Preet, wake up. Its 9 already', said a voice pushing Preet's back. 'Maa, please a little more, 5 minutes okay?' , replied Preet facing to the person with closed eyes. 'Do I sound like maa to you? Uth (Wake up) Preet, Bauji will get angry otherwise' , said the voice again ruffling Preet's hair. Realizing it was not Gayatri, Preet opened his one eye to check who it was. Seeing Prem, Preet sat up quickly.

Preet: PB, you?! Is anything serious?! You came to wake me up today?!
Prem: Why? Can't I wake you up in the morning?!
Preet: Of course you can but generally maa does it or else sends Veera to eat up my life with her hideous wake up pranks.
Prem: Hahaha! Maa was coming to wake you up but actually, I wanted to have a talk with you before you leave for Ambala.
Preet: Is everything fine bhaiya? You sound serious. *Worried face*
Prem: Haha no no, nothing to be worried about Preet. I just wanted to tell you that this is the first time bauji is sending you for some work, be responsible and keep up bauji's and our family's values to everyone. I know you will but just thought we brothers should have this conversation before you leave. Look Preet, you are not only my pride but bauji's piece of a heart too. He scolds you every now and then but he loves you just like I do.
Preet: I know PB and don't worry, I will never do anything which will put you or bauji into a embarrassed situation. *Smiles*
Prem: *Smiles back and hugs Preet* Now get ready for Ambala.
Preet: *Breaking the hug* Bhaiya, you are so much in hurry to send me to Ambala hmm? *Winks*

Prem glared at Preet being shy and was about to pull his ear when Gayatri's voice diverted both the brother's attention. 'Muli ke parathe baccho, jaldi niche ayo! (Its raddish parathe kids, come downstairs fast!)' , Gayatri's these words made both the Juneja brothers squeal with joy as it was their favourite Paratha. 'Wait 5 mins PB, I will be back taking a shower and then we go together otherwise you will finish all of them' , said Preet making a pout face. 'Okay' , laughed Prem. Hearing Prem's reply, Preet grabbed his towel fast and went to the bathroom.

After some seconds, Prem gave a naughty smile to himself and looked at the direction of the bathroom. 'I am going downstairs Preet. You know when its about Muli ke Parathe, I simply can't resist just like you', said Prem grinning before leaving the room.

'Bhaiyaaa', screamed a pissed off Preet from the bathroom.

It was a bright sunny morning in Ambala. The cozy little duplex Maan house was shining in the light of the beautiful sun rays. One very fine young lady was seen to run around the house and scream her lungs out happily like a kid in a candy store. 'Suno suno, sara Ambala suno! Meri Heer didi ka dulha aa raha hain, suno suno sara Ambala suno! (Listen listen, all of you in Ambala listen! My Heer didi's groom is coming, listen listen all of you in Ambala listen!)', the young lady kept on screaming. 'Meher, you will make all the people in Ambala go deaf, now will you please stop beta?!', said a middle aged woman holding the yound lady with both hands.

Meher: Maa, I want to but I just can't. This is so exciting!
Teji: Just keep a hold on your excitement and come help me with the household chores. Prem beta must be coming anytime soon.

'Maa, do you need any help?' , asked a shy young lady from behind. 'Heer beta, you go to your room and get all decked up. Why do we have this moti (Fatso) Meher for? I don't even know if anyone will ever marry her seeing her size, at least she should learn to do some chores', said a middle aged woman with a little angry voice while looking at Meher. 'But Chachi I could help too', replied Heer trying to protest in a well behaved manner.

Daaljeet: I said na Meher will help us? She thinks she can scream very loud, let me teach her how to be quiet.
Meher: Chachi, I sure can scream and will do it someday if I feel obliged again.
Daaljeet: Accha?! (Oh really?!). Before screaming always remember, screams are always not for happy reasons. *Glaring at Meher*

Meher made a disgusted face and went towards the kitchen. Daaljeet followed her.

Heer: Maa, I don't know why but I always feel chachi acts harsh on Meher. Like she never acts like that to me.
Teji: Nothing like that Heer. You know na, how Meher always replies back to Daljeet? Daljeet talks in a bit bitter and straight foward manner but she wants good for Meher only.
Heer: But maa still...

'Now stop thinking about all these and go get ready in some good casual clothes. Prem may arrive anytime' , interrupted Teji before Heer could complete her sentence.

After 1 hour
Ah these narrow lanes, they all are looking the same! But oh well whatever, Ambala surely seems to be a beautiful place' , said Preet smiling. 'But I think I need to check how beautiful are the people here now. Come on Preet Juneja, lets ask someone about the route to the Maan house', said Preet looking for someone on the road. Luckily, within a little distance he saw a girl feeding the chickens on a side of the road. Preet drove to that distance.

Preet: Breakfast for chickens? I like chickens for breakfast.
Meher looked at the car's window with a confused face.
Meher: Ji (Yes)?!
Preet: I meant you are feeding the chickens right?
Meher: Yes I am. But may I know who are you and why are you talking to me? Never seen a girl before? *Yelling*
Preet: I have but never seen a gol (Round) one like this.
Meher: Whaaattt?! *Yelling more loudly*
Preet: I mean to say, you are a chubby cutie you know? *Teasing*
Meher: What did you say?! Tum mujhpe line mar rahe ho?! Sheher se aye ho na? To socha ki Angerji nehi ati mujhe haan? Angreji bolke pata loge?! (You are hitting on me huh?! You are from city right? So you thought I won't understand English? You will impress me with English huh?!) *Angry tone*
Preet: Uff, nothing like that! First listen then assume. I just wanted to know the direction of the Maan house, you started it all up with your investigations about me.
Meher: Maan house?! Why do you need the directions of Maan house? *Realizing something* Wait, wait wait wait, have you come from Ludhiana?! *Asks in a decent voice*
Preet: Yes, why?
Meher: Are you a Juneja? *Asks making an embarrassed face*
Preet: To your much pleasure, yes I am!

Meher bit her tongue being embarrassed and got into the car immediately. 'I am taking you to the Maan house, lets go! Thats our house! Sorry for what happened earlier, please don't tell anyone at home okay?', said Meher holding her ears and making a baby face. 'Okay okay, I won't', said Preet smiling. 'Awww you are so cute you know? And of course you can call me chubby cutie or whatever you like. After all we will be sharing such a relationship!' , said Meher being all excited and happy. 'I wonder in what crazy family maa bauji had choosen to marry off PB', muttered a very confused Preet under his breath. He gave a weak smile to Meher and pulled the gear.
