Many readers have commented about Meher ignoring Preet's feelings, and it is true...but you see from her point of view she is doing what is best for Preet's future and the future of his family.

Also, she feels that since Lalit wants Ash as his daughter in law, he will not accept her. As a result, her life and Preet's life will only become miserable, should they ignore Lalit's wishes.

She doesn't want Preet to have to choose between her and his family's welfare.
