TV actor Sushant to play the second lead in 'P.K.'?

While there were several names such as Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Imran Khan doing the rounds, sources reveal that it is the dishy television turned film actor Sushant Singh Rajput (famous for playing Manav in Zee TV's hit serial Pavitra Rishta) who has managed to bag the role in Rajkumar Hirani's upcoming two-hero project, P.K.

While Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma have already signed the prestigious project, speculations have been rife about who would play the parallel lead in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's production.

Meanwhile, Sushant is currently busy wrapping up Abhishek Kapoor's Kai Po Che (based on Chetan Bhagat's novel - The 3 Mistakes of My Life) in which he is playing the lead. "After he finishes shooting for it in a couple of months, he will focus entirely on P.K." says the source. However the spokesperson for the film maintained that the actor has not been finalised as yet.

Sushant refused to comment and remains tight-lipped about any of the project and his film career as well. It may be recalled that Sushant broke several hearts when he quit Pavitra Rishta due to his disagreement on the 18-year-leap. Since then we've not heard much about him but now we can actually confirm that the actor has been busy with his film career.

In Kai Po Che, directed by Abhishek Kapoor, Sushant is essaying one of the three main characters along with fellow telly actor Amit Sadh and Ragini MMS actor Raj Kumar Yadav. And if rumours are to be believed, the producers have approached Australian cricketer Shaun Tait for their film. Since cricket is an integral part of the film, there is a need to cast a prominent international cricketer, says the source.

As per reports, the makers have already roped in Indian bowler Ashish Nehra to coach Sushant, and it is Ashish who put them in touch with Shaun.

amrita learns garba

Akshata Shetty, TNN | Sep 15, 2012, 12.00AM IST
Amrita learns garba
Amrita Puri
Actor Amrita Puri is taking garba lessons for her film Kai Po Che. Amrita, who was last seen in the films Aisha and Blood Money, is all geared up to groove to some garba beats.

Though she describes this Gujarati folk dance as tough, she shares, "We still have to complete the shooting of the song so it's going to be garba lessons all over again. Gujaratis can do the dance form like no one else and it's some serious stuff. They all dance like professionals at Navratri. I break into a sweat just thinking of it!" But this is just one challenge Amrita took up. She recently also had to learn to ride a bike. She says, "My co-star Sushant Singh Rajputtaught me how to ride a two-wheeler. It was a lot of fun. Learning garba was tougher!"

Sushant Singh Rajput Big Blast ?

sushant singh rajpoot 119

Time and again, actors make the transition from small screen to big screen but invain. Isn't it just about everyone's dream to do a Shah Rukh Khan, whose journey after the small screen is already the stuff of history? But there's something different about Sushant Singh Rajput, who has had a successful stint on the telly.

Sources close to the actor tell us that even though many big filmmakers had approached Rajput, he didn't give in and went ahead only when UTV Motion Pictures struck a two-film deal with him. His first film as leading man, Kai Po Che!, being directed by Abhishek Kapoor, is expected to release early next year.

Now the actor has added another feather to his cap. According to trade sources, Rajkumar Hirani has signed him to play the second hero in his film Peekay. The source reveals that Hirani was extremely moved with the screen test the newbie did for the film.

After these two big budgeted films, what more are we going to see from UTV?
Well, yes, there's a lot coming up from our house. There is a film called 'Kai Po Che!' directed by Abhishek Kapoor of Rock On fame that is based on Chetan Bhagat's novel, 'The Three Mistakes of My Life'! It is a beautiful story which is really interesting! Then there is 'Ghanchakkar' with Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan. After that we have Sajid Khan's 'Himmatwala', Prakhash Jha's 'Satyagraha' and of course we have the biggie in store. Shah Rukh Khan and Rohit Shetty are coming together for the first time in 'Chennai Express', which is also headed by UTV! So there is a lot going on!

part of siddarth article i am sure they are gonna promote movie well too guys do read entire article he seems genuinely nice and honest http://www.koimoi.com/bollywood-news/barfi-is-one-of-the-finest-films-that-we-have-produced-in-utv-siddharth-roy-kapur-in-a-conversation-with-koimoi/
