Chapter-1
"Hey Prem where were you yesterday? I tried calling you so many times sweetheart", said Ash after finding Prem in corridors of their college.
Prem wrapped his arm around her waist while kissing her on cheek and said "Ash remembered I had classes all day yesterday and later I went to Prof. Martha about my project. Later when I reached my apartment, I was so tired that I straight hit the bed. I saw you missed calls in the morning and thought I would talk to you when I would meet you. I hope you understand darling".
"Of course I do", said Ash frowning a bit.
"Listen I have a class right now. How about having lunch together at my apartment?" said Prem walking with Ash towards their classes.
"Fine. I need to talk to you about something, so see you there", said Ash and gave a quick peck to Prem on his lips. They went in opposite directions to attend their classes.

"I ordered Chinese. You like it right?", said Ash cheerfully while entering Prem's apartment. Prem was watching TV and shrugged without looking back at her. Ash went towards him and hugged him from behind and kissed him on his cheek and said "What's wrong Prem. You are not being yourself lately."
Prem got up from the coach and filled himself a glass of water and turned around to look at Ash, who was now sitting on couch and was looking at him. Prem leaned against the counter and observed her silently for a few minutes, then for a second a look of irritation passed his face, which he covered quickly, thus Ash didn't even come to know that it even existed. Prem shrugged and walked across the kitchen towards his sink. While washing his glass, he said "its Christmas time". He didn't even turn around to look ash's reaction. It was as though he wasn't sharing this information with her rather reminding himself the bitter truth of his life.
He turned around after cleaning his glass and the area around and saw Ash sighing while looking at her finger nails. "So what was the answer this time?", asked Ash. Prem rolled his eyes and thought as though you don't know. "Same as ever", answered Prem.
"I don't understand why you even bother calling them", said Ash getting up and walking to him.
"You will never understand. They are my parents Ash. I can't give up on them as they have", said Prem irritatingly.
Ash stood in front of him. She messaged his arm with one hand and with another she held his hand. "Ya you are right. You know na my home is always open for you. My parents would be happy to receive you in their house for Christmas", said Ash taking a complete U-turn in her choice of words.
Prem sighed and nodded. Their foreheads met as Prem said "I know. I love then too but I don't want to bother them. They would like to spend this time with their daughter. They wouldn't expect her boy friend to tag along."
"This is utter nonsense. Infact my mom loves you more than she loves me. After you went with me to visit them on our first Christmas together, she expects you come along every Christmas. And frankly speaking, I wanted to talk to you about this. Instead of staying here alone on Christmas, why don't you come with me? I am sure you will like there more", said Ash.
"Hmmm. I know. Fine if you say so. But if only it is not a burden", said Prem cupping her face. "No, it isn't", said Ash while shaking her head in negative response. Prem smiled and kissed her on cheek and Ash frowned. Prem laughed a bit and was about to kiss her on lips when the doorbell rang.
Ash glared hard at the door or specifically at the person behind it who ruined their moment. Prem chuckled and went to open the door. It was the Chinese food they ordered.
Prem took the food and went towards the kitchen to serve it in bowls and plates. Ash stopped his hand in mid air while he was reaching for a bowl. He looked questionably at her and she said "Let me do it. I ordered it right, so I will serve it too."
"Naa, you are a guest at my place today, so it's my responsibility to serve you," said Prem reaching for the bowl.
Ash moved closet to him and said seductively "Am I just a guest Prem?"
"Well no but my house so my rules", said Prem playfully.
"Ok if you say so but you have to comply with something to have this advantage," said Ash moving more close to him with their bodies touching now and a very dangerous distance between their lips.
Prem raised his eyebrows suggestively and said "And what's t'.". Ash didn't give him the time to finish his sentence and smashed her lips hard on his lips. A raw passion and hunger was evident in her kiss. Though Prem was not surprise with her move but still few seconds after which he responded back with same vigor.

"Prem mom is very happy that you are coming over. Didn't I tell you that my parents won't mind it? Infact they love this idea that you are spending Christmas with us", said Ash while Prem towards her home town.
She came over and kissed him on cheek and laughed a little and said "I am so excited". Prem smile in return and said "you better not distract me like this if you want your parents to see us in one piece." Ash giggled and kissed him again and went back to her seat.
Few minutes passed while she was looking outside from the window, Ash said "Mom was talking about some surprise. I don't know what she was planning."
"Don't worry she wouldn't marry you without your knowledge," said Prem chuckling.
"Oh I am not tensed about it. She knows I like you a lot so don't be surprised if some day she kidnaps you and get me married to you the very next day in church", replied Ash.
"Oh I won't forget about it and thanks for warning me in advance, said Prem grinning.
In between their ride, they stopped at a restaurant to have some snacks with a drink and soon in an hour they reached their destination.
"So all ready to go in", said Prem while getting their luggage out of his car.
"Ya", said Ash hesitatingly.
"Oh come on. Take this as your own house", said Prem chuckling and taking her hand in his.
"It's not funny", said Ash glaring but smiling too at the same time. Prem squeezed her hand and pulled her towards him while walking towards the front door. Even before they could ring a doorbell, the door was opened making them view an elderly lady, with a huge smile on her face. She was wearing a sky blue shirt with a brown skirt, along with a white color sweater to keep her warm.
"Hey mom", said Ash while she was engulfed in a bear hug. Next was Prem's turn to go though it though he had suffer through it for more minutes. "I was waiting for you two for so long now. What took you so long to reach here? And you Prem it's been so long since I last met you. God knows why doesn't my daughter makes you come here more often?", said Daljeet.
"What can I say? She is usually finding ways to keep me more for herself", said Prem grinning.
"Well that is true. I can't ever get enough of him", said Ash smiling and taking Prem's arm and keeping her head on his shoulder. She said the last sentence in very low tone for only Prem to listen. Prem rolled his eyes on this comment.
"Awww, how cute. Now come in. Viraj is waiting for you two. Go and meet him", said Daljeet while ushering them into the house.
"And where is dad?", asked Ash while keeping her purse on her side table.
"As usual on his coach watching football on TV", said Daljeet while making coffee for everyone.
"Hey Viraj", said Prem while entering drawing room. An elderly man looked up towards him from the couch. He smiled whole-heartedly and got up from the couch and walked towards Prem. He hugged him and asked "how are you young boy?"
"I am fine Viraj. Thanks for having me over for Christmas", said Prem cheerfully.
"It's not a problem Prem, you know it we love to receive you. And who is that? Is that my little princess?", said Viraj
"Daddyyyyyy", squealed Ash while hugging her father. They were chatting about random topics when Daljeet entered the room with try full of coffee mugs and a plate of cookies. Prem noticed there was an extra mug in the tray and when he was about to inquire about it, Ash spoke "Mom where is the surprise you were talking about?"
"Somebody is getting very impatient", said Daljeet while giving everyone their coffee. Ash frowned back in reply. Daljeet took a sip of her coffee, and then smiled. She looked upstairs towards a room and shouted "Darling somebody is waiting here to meet you."
"Darling? Does dad has a competition here?" said Ash chuckling
"Shut up. Not him, it's about you. You are going to love this surprise", said Daljeet excitedly.
Prem heard the sound of footsteps from the staircase and then saw Ash gasping. When he was about turn to see who got this reaction out of his girl-friend, a white dupatta covered his face. Then soon it left his face as the girl around whom it was draped rushed towards Ash and hugged her tightly. Ash's eyes were wide from shock and she still hadn't hugged her back. This unknown girl was wearing a lavender color suit with choridaar pajami. This outfit outlined her curves at the right places. Prem still hadn't seen her face yet but could tell that even in this simple attire this girl looked utterly sexy. She had a long black hair which curled at the bottom. Prem now could also hear sound of bangles in her hand.
And then he heard her melodious voice saying "Ash my sweetypie, what is this? You aren't even hugging me back. I guess you didn't miss me the way I did"
"And how is that possible? We know you two are very close. I guess she is just surprised as she didn't expect you here", said Viraj grinning
"Well I can see that. Well that's why I never told her about my visit. And even Buaji supported me in this", said the girl laughing a bit.
That laughter was like music in his ears but it also made Prem feel that he had heard it before too. As though it had been very close to his heart. Btu how is this possible? I have never been involved with anyone but Ash. And I haven't even felt this way for her bcos I had known her for a long time as friends before dating her, thought Prem. Then he felt, infact remembered feeling this way for one girl in his life. Girl who rejected him straightway without giving them a chance. She hurt him so brutally that if Ash hadn't been around, god knows what would have happened to him, and where he would be now. He was that serious about that girl, thought Prem.
Then he realized that her voice too sounded familiar. No, it can't be, it can't be. Prem's heart started beating fast in anticipation. His train of thoughts was disturbed by the voice of Daljeet who was speaking to him, saying "Prem I want you to meet my niece" and then the referred girl turned around to look at him and Prem felt his heart and breathing stopped, when he realized that the girl was none other than "Heer", said Daljeet. The gal who broke my heart and never gave me a chance to explain, thought Prem angrily.
Ash had recovered now but now Heer's face was the replica of Ash's face few minutes before. She was terribly shocked. She never expected him to see here. But why wouldn't he be here Heer? Of course he is Ash's boy-friend so he will be here. She just hoped infact prayed that she would never see him here while she was visiting her cousin for Christmas. And of course how her heart's desire could be fulfilled? She never wanted to him, how could she after what he did to her? But still she never forgot him, he looks just the same the way he looked three years back and yet so different. Here was the man with whom she fell in love three years back and still love. The man who didn't deserve her love, who broke her heart, thought Heer taking a deep breadth.
She looked around and found everyone sitting and talking. She sat down too but couldn't bring herself to speak about something. Daljeet and Viraj were talking to their daughter and Heer didn't want to talk to the only person left. She felt him staring at her very intently from the start. She looked up and saw his eyes blazing in anger. Why is he still angry? It has been three years and still he is reacting in this way. I guess he is still the same; he would never change, thought Heer.
Heer felt her eyes getting wet with tears. She didn't want anyone to see her like this, least of all people who caused them. She stood up and said "Buaji, I am feeling tired. Can I go and rest for some time?" She lowered her eyes towards the ground, making sure she doesn't shed a tear.
"Haan Beta. Tum Jao aur aaram karo. Tum bhi toh abhi aayi ho. I will inform you when dinner is ready", said Daljeet smiling. Heer nodded and went upstairs towards her room. She went as fast as her legs could take her but also at the same not making it obvious that she was rushing away. Again she was going away from the man she loved the most in this world.
