Chapter 3
The meeting was a chaotic affair. Fari seated on the desk, legs resting on a coffee table strewn with rival magazines. Prem setting up a projector. Shanu wandering in and out with coffees and teas. Heer came late again. The cover designer, Anu was trying to find some space, a work surface, but gave up and just stood in the middle of the room.
Fari addressed Prem, "Can we begin?"
Prem switched on without a word and all watched as he flicked through his shots. He was vaguely aware of Heer, sitting there staring at him. Shanu noticed straight away and took a closer look at him and then Heer. Something going on here for sure! At least on Heer's side. No one else had the time to check this out. Lucky Shanu.
Anu wasn't particularly impressed, "We need new shots done, new models. Isn't there a shoot ?"
Fari sighed, "Of course there is. We just needed to look at Prem's work. Main shoot is tomorrow. I'll get models from wherever. My friends can do it if I'm stuck!"
"Your friends?" Anu didn't like the sound of this, "I'm talking final cover here. November issue. You know. The one before Christmas?"
Heer wasn't paying attention. Her job was to go into action when the models arrived. Get them dressed, prepped, relaxed. So now she had time to study Prem. A picture of uber cool maleness. They had met a few times. She had thought there was a mutual attraction. But he said next to nothing. Just exuded a presence. And Heer had been happy to bask in that. A northern girl, she tended to like them more tough than soft suburban types. This one would have looked at home in a coal mine, or an oil rig. And he was Lancastrian and she a Yorkie. The war of the roses. Red and white. It looked romantic on paper at least. [hope Amu approves of all this so far. i'm quite nervous writing this stuff].
"Anu dearest! Don't tell me my job! I didn't get to where I am without knowing what's required for a November Issue, so chill."
Heer was temporarily woken out of her daydream. Fari was mildly laying down the law and the ground rules for tomorrow's shoot. Prem listened, wrote down a few things and gathered his stuff.
"Ok so Prem you can set up at the warehouse starting from......when Shanu?" Fari tossed the question and Shanu was checking her phone......."umm......ya from 7AM. And Heer will need to be there at 8. Models will be there by then."
