Part 8
Prem called Heer. Heer Picked up the phone and said, "hello?" Prem was reluctant to speak, but he finally did. "Heer, I know you don't want to speak to me right now but it is about Preet and meher. Has meher mentioned any problems with Preet? I know she left with you, but I have no idea what terms they parted on. I am worried our problems affected their relationship too. This morning one of our office ladies saw Preet with another girl but I am not sure about it. I wanted to be sure before we talk to Preet or Meher. What do you think?" "Oh no! Prem we can't let our relationship affect theirs! I don't want Meher to suffer like I did. (She relaized what she said and paused.) Umm, I think we should watch them before we say anything to them. You watch preet and i will watch meher. Cal me tonight and tell me what you find out okay? And Prem our communication is limited to Preet and meher- we are finished." With that, Heer hung up.
In Preet's Office
Preet looked seriously at Meher and said ,"I think this plan is more of something i need to do, just promise to trust me."
"Preet, I will always trust you, but let me help you."
"You can help me actually, I need to go to Goa for two weeks for one of our new hotels- will you come with me?"
Meher put her hand on Preet's and said I would love to preet but what about Heer di. I can't leave her by herself. This isn't time for us to be fooling around! We are supposed to be getting them back together!
Meher, I have to go for work. You know that bauji has just started trusting me. I promise I will figure we will figure all this out when I get back.
Preet, What am I going to do with you gone? I am supposed to be "working" remember?
"Oh, yeah. Hum ab hum kya karenge? Tum mera saath chal nahi sakti or ghar per bhi nahi reh sakti." preet pondered.
"I got it! you can still work here with one of our partners-Raj, until I come back."
"Umm okay, fine." meher said pouting. She put her arms around his neck
and played with his hair. Preet closed his eyes and said, "meher, I have a meeting to attend,please don't do this to me."
"Do what?" meher teased.
"If you keep playing with my hair like this then i won't be able to leave." Preet said unable to draw himself away from meher.
"okay, fine. go to your meeting. "meher said in an irritated voice.
Preet kissed Meher's forehead
Meher Organized Preet's office while he was at his meeting. She color coded and alphabatized his files. She vaccumed, dusted, and wiped his messy cabin.
Meher was facing the window, arranging flowers, when she heard someone open the window. She didn't turn around but she said, "Arre Preet tum agaye?"
The person responded, "Actually I am raj. Preet told me you were looking to do some stuff for two weeks?"
Meher turned around and said,"Oh I am so sorry! I thought you were preet." She extended her hand and said"It is nice to meet you raj! I am so sorry- i am a mess right now. Preet keeps his cabin very dirty!"
Raj laughed and said, "I don't doubt that! He was the same way in college!"
Meher was surprised,"you went to college together?"
Raj said, "Yeah!We were roommates! I am surprised he never mentioned me. well anyways, I was hoping you you could help me for the couple weeks Preet is gone. Preet told me all about your problem and how you are trying to help Prem and Heer. I actually works out perfectly because we need a woman's point of view for all of the design aspects of our new hotel. "
"That sounds perfect! Thank you so much for doing this for us!" meher said.
"I will see you here around 9 tomorrow, then?" raj said.
"Yes! and you better have your college stories ready for me!" meher said smiling.
Raj laughed and then they exchanged goodbyes.
Meher returned to her flowers and smiled. She thought to herself that she was learning so much about preet these days.
As raj walked to his car he shook his head and though, "Boy, these Juneja men sure did get lucky with their women. First Heer and now meher. They were beautiful, harming and talented. Why couldn't he find anyone like them?"
A few minutes later, Preet strolled into his office. He was amazied by what he saw. Meher smiled at him and said, "Pasand aya?"
Preet grinned,"Bohut pasand aya! likin tum ye sab kyun kari?"
Meher said, "I was bored!And now it is really late and Heer di must be waiting for me."
Preet held her wrist and said,"meher i am leaving for two weeks!Can't you call up heer di and tell her you have to work late? i won't get to spend anytime with you."
Meher caved, how could she resist that innocent face? She called heer and told her that she had to work late tonight. Heer had been suspicious but told meher it was okay. Heer then proceeded to call Prem and tell him that meher was working late tonight. prem told her that Preet was doing the same and Preet was leaving for goa for two weeks. They made plans to follow Preet to goa.
