nice list..but lady mcbeth? i didnt really find their love story that great..well, maybe i guess i can go back and read it..it has been a long time since i read that book..
hey lovely lady. 😆 ya, macbeth's lady is a strange twist, no? i just explained it to bee -- in the middle of all that blood and gore, you just can't miss the fact that macbeth and the lady stick with each other -- through thick and thin. and i thought there was a strange kind of depth in that story. or maybe it's just a twist in my brain -- either way, that's where it is, i guess. 😆
and viola..i guess there love story was nice..but it was a romantic comedy..i found it funny more than "deep"
oh, viola and her duke, i totally loved. i loved how the duke ''felt'' his love through the page's male garb -- and in those days, it was even more difficult, no? and on top of that, she is fighting the social ''correctness'' of her ''station'' and what he ''ought to be'' getting as a wife. and the rightness of her brother landing up to be there for the lady. and ... i guess it made a dent in my memory. 'cause i do so love 'em.
if i think of other shakespeare comedies, the other loveable pair were... beatrice and benedick? i'd have include portia and her swain -- but i never understood why a brilliant portia ever wanted a silly guy like bassanio. he didn't even recognise her, darnit!
and westly and buttercup, yea, that was an awesome movie..and their love story was sweet..
oooh!, you know buttercup and westly!!! they were awesome! 😍😍😍 with the cliffs of insanity, the fire swamp, the r.o.u.s.s. 😆, the pit of despair, and love that comes back from the almost-death... *sigh!* it just can't get any better!!! er... well, till prem and heer happened. 😃
also, belle and beast was the BEST love story ever..she loved a beast..that has never happened in love stories before..
😍 well, metaphorically not, i guess. in a way, darcy of p&p was also ... a (metaphorical) beast to elizabeth and her family, no? i always thought p&p was a metaphorical cousin of beauty&the beast... 😃
anyways, heathcliff..i've never read the book, but i guess i should..
ya. it's a difficult book to get through, imho. not as light and sunny as the jane-austen set. part of the attraction of the book was that it was written by a girl who was the daughter of a pastor. all she knew of life was the dark lonely life of a scottish? pastor who lived with his family in the middle of the moors... she knew nothing else! and yet.. charlotte bronte ended up writing this book about mad, passionate love between a man and a woman. totally insane, man... *shaking head at the wonder of it all.*
anyways, i actually think mr. darcy's and lizzie love story was pretty good..i mean, it kinda had a twist..he would insult her, but yet he loved her..i found that very interesting..and she didnt like him at all either..but later, she also fell in love with him..
well, see my comment above -- i liked it. but not as one of the most unusual, intriguing convincing ones. there was (i guess) a little too much of a sense of people living in tight-laced society that kinda irked me. give me beauty and the beast instead, i'd say. 😆
salim and anarkali...i havent seen the movie but i have heard so much about this..so yea..cant say much cause i havent seen the movie..btw, is this story real?
i don't think it's possible to actually figure if the story is totally real as the movie showed it, of course. but i'd figure there must've been a figment of truth in there somewhere, no? that there was a courtesan for whom the crown prince even dared to go to war against his father? the rest of the dialogue, the exact sequence of what happened when must've been put together out of thin air -- fiction as it were. but... you see madhubala and you figure -- man, this is sooo possible. 😆
anyways, i dont know much about star wars and the maitrix so i wont comment on them..
ya well. 😆 i guess you may need to have been surrounded by sci-fic all your life to instantly vibe with these two. but seriously, star wars is really just a very slick, high-tech version of a hindi movie story... lost children, son and father meeting after many years, clashes, but finally falling into each other's arms, and around it love stories and funny guys. 😆 then i guess, the basic format of popular stories never quite change, no?
matrix, otoh -- a seriously cool movie on a seriously cool premise! what really makes your eyes roll at the end is that -- as always -- the universe gets saved 'cause of ... luuvvv!!! 🤣 and you realise ''some things never change!'' 🤣
and prem and heer..well, we all know that their love story is AWESOME!!
yup! i never thought i'd say this of a hindi tv-serial. but they are seriously awesome -- in a fundamental love story way. 👍🏼
