Hi guys, this shot was a request from Meera. So i wrote this last night, my mood seemed to have suited it. I hope she likes it, and you all also. =]
Soledad
If only you could see the tears in the world you left behind
If only you could heal my heart just one more time
Even when I close my eyes
There's an image of your face
And once again I come to realize
You're a loss I can't replace
He leaned against the bed post with a sigh leaving his chapped lips. It seemed almost inevitable to stop the tears from falling down his cheeks. He didn't expect this, he really didn't. He wondered silently, if he deserved this in some way, as pain tore at his heart. He lay there, on their bed, his clothes rattled and his heart broken, a single cut ran across his wrist, crimson drops slowly fell to the ground, where the previous white floor now held a small pool of red liquid.
Soledad
It's a keeping for the lonely
Since the day that you were gone
Why did you leave me
Soledad
In my heart you were the only
And your memory lives on
Why did you leave me
Soledad
Why? Why did she leave? Did he do something wrong? He loved her though...he really did, with all his heart and being. Yet she left him. Without even a single goodbye. NO! She has no right...she had no right. Who is she to decide that they should separate? Separate...the word rang though his mind as he used his right hand, the uninjured one, to pick up a picture and hold it in front of his face.
Walking down the streets of nothingville
Where our love was young and free
Can't believe just what an empty place
It has come to be
I would give my life away
If it could only be the same
Cause I can't still the voice inside of me
That is calling out your name
Memories flashed through his mind as his finger lightly traced the figure in the picture. It was of her, his love, his life, his everything. And now she was gone. Her big brown eyes gazed at him lovingly though the frame, her long dark hair flew behind her as she swung on the swing, and she was laughing happily as she rose to touch the sky. Her stomach held a small bulge; she was in her 4th month of pregnancy. A notice that had made both him and her laugh with joy, and now that joy itself was missing from him.
A whisper broke through the dark and silent room; he didn't even notice himself calling out to her. "Meera" it enveloped him in a cage that would not break down no matter how hard he tried to escape it. It had been a week since he had lost her. No, not just her, he lost something else, someone else too with her, their nishani. Was love strong enough to survive this kind of pain? Everyone told him to be strong, but how can he be strong when his strength was gone?
"Prem" his head shot up as the wind flew in, tugging at the curtains harshly, trying to reach him and sooth his pain. He thought he had heard a voice, her voice. Were his ears failing him? Was his mind playing a harsh game with him?
"Main yahan hoon jaanu" came from the right side of the bed, and he sat up straight, twisting his body to the side. His eyes scanned the room with narrowed eyes, the picture fell from his hand and hit the mattress on the edge, turning slightly and hitting the floor with a sharp crack. He didn't notice.
Blood flew quickly. A sharp pain, a grunt as he stood up and stepped on the broken glass of the picture. His eyes, wild like an animal's, glanced over the room quickly. Where was she? She was back! He knew it...she was calling him, she was. But from where?

The past arose again in flashes through his mind.
"How much are these?" he asked the lady, a bright smile stretched upon his face as he held up a bouquet of white lilies. They would go perfectly in his and Meera's room, also they were her favorite. His day was going perfectly. Just before he had dropped by the jeweler's shop to pick up the bracelet he had asked to be made in a newborn's size. It was in silver gold and had a tiny heart with "Love" written inside it.
He bought the flowers and ran to his car quickly, he was in a bit of a hurry, and Meera was going to meet him at this shop so they can look at baby's things. He couldn't wait! They had a baby coming, well alright so there were still months left in the arrival but a baby, his baby. The symbol of his love with Meera, their own child. For so long, his heart ached to hold a child in his arms that he could call his own and he was getting that wish.
He reached the shop where they were meeting and got out to lean against his car, waiting to see her figure emerge from the crowd. Humming softly to himself, he played with his phone and almost dropped it when it suddenly rang a shrill tone. Thinking of it to be his wife, he answered without checking the number. What a mistake that was.
"Hello, where are you hon?" he asked, running a hand through his hair. The voice that replied was not whose he had expected it to be.
"Mr. Juneja? This is Officer Rathor, I'm afraid I have some bad news" his gut clenched painfully as he stood up straighter, panic enveloping his mind, he breathed shallowly.
"Wha-what happened?" he asked though his heart told him it was something he did not want to know, ignoring the pull on his heartstrings as his hand clenched tightly around the phone.
"Your wife...she was in an accident" his heart skipped a beat as his knees weakened and he leaned against his car in shock. The officer continued, "it's pretty bad Sir, she and your child...I'm afraid, and extremely sorry to say, they did not make it through the accident". He fell on the floor, people passing by looked at him shocked and wondering what the cause of the immense pain in his eyes was.
"A truck flew into the wrong lane and hit your wife's car straight on, a piece of the metal plunged into her stomach and she died on contact as it also pierced her heart. It didn't seem to be on purpose, the truck's brakes had failed at the last minute. You must come to the morgue to identify the body" the inspector continued, his voice void of any emotion. Prem let the phone fall from his hand as a scream of anger, of pain, a plea escaped his mouth--No one answered.
Time will never change the things you told me
After all we're meant to be
Love will bring us back to you and me
If only you could see
He sat now against the bed with tears filled in his chocolate brown eyes. They were drooping, darkness was enveloping him slowly but he did not want to go yet. He fought against the urge to close his eyes, but as the tears dried on his cheeks and the wind ruffled his hair, he found himself closing them with a hint of peace. A final breath left his body, his muscular frame shook slightly before turning still, almost as if he was made of stone.
His blood soaked the white kurta he had been wearing as a final small drop hit the fabric before the door was pushed open and the only sound left in the room were yells and screams of shock. "Prem!!" "Bhaiya!" "Beta!" echoed through the room as steps of his family sounded loudly on the floor, running towards his frame. He fell to the side, as they tried to shake him awake.
"Call the doctor!" "He's..he's gone..." and a final sob of his name left everyone's lips.
