It's bad enough that they are totally destroying the nature of these characters one by one, now they want to kill off one of the most central and most loved characters in the show!
Preet is an absolutely essential part of the family and therefore the show.
Preet loves his older brother Prem unconditionally. He is the first person to stand up for him whenever the situation calls for it. He is always vocal in his support of Prem and the first to stand by his side. If you take away Preet, Prem is left with Kuldi, who holds no real clout, Veera who is a selfish spoilt brat who only thinks of herself, and Harman. The less said about him, the better. 😡
Preet loves his Heer Bhabi almost as much. He is the only person never to doubt her and who supports her and believes in her goodness. When the whole world is against Heer, Preet is the only one who always fights Heers corner. For Preet puri dhuniya ek taraf, aur uska Heer bhabhi ek taraf. Nothing further needs to be said here.
Preet has been an absolutely essential part of bringing Premeer together more than once.
All dramas by their nature are full of conflict and tension and the Juneja family has both of this in bucketloads! Preet is the only member of the family who is completely different. He provides full-on masti for them and us.
Preet is the only one who has the guts to tell it like it is, whether that be to G3 or Lallu. He is never backwards in coming forward with his views when he knows he's in the right.
I love Preet and Lallu's father-son banter. If you kill Preet who is going to call Lallu chand? I certainly wont be! But Preet provides some of the funniest and most memorable lines in the serial.
Who can forget 'kahan ujri hui chaman, or kahan sarson ka kheth' - classic Preet 😆😆😆
What will happen to Meher? Meher, who has been beaten, tortured, teased, starved. Who's had her hair pulled, her face slapped and her heart broken. It was Preet who stepped in and saved her. Who took her by the hand and helped her heal. It is only Preet who understands Meher and see's the true beauty that lies beneath. Only Preet can get away with calling her his 'haddi kaddi Punjaban'! The only one who makes her feel like she is the most beautiful woman in the world. The only one who cares about how she feels. The only one who blasted Maya for insulting her and demanded she apologise publicly (He may not have got it..but he demanded it), while everyone else just looked on worried about what people might say.
I could list so much more, but I think the system might crash.
Preet may just be another character to the creatives, but to us he is so much more. We feel like we know him. We wait his arrival onscreen with eager anticipation. Like as if we are waiting for a friend, because we know that friend will provide us with the laughter and joke we occasionally need to relax. There are lot's of us who watch this show just to see him (and off course MeeT)
Please, please, please don't kill off Preet.
