So, a Surprise Shot again! This one is for Bhav. Bhav, I'm sorry your day wasn't as good as it should have been (I mean, great people should have great days all the time!) So, I thought I'd write you this!
I know it's late and I fear it is terrible, having written it in between classes, all rushed up, wanting to post it before the Sandman comes and claims Singapore.....for the night😆 So, sorry for the typos, the grammatic errors and such that are bound to be there AND I hope that this brings at least a teeny weeny smile back on to your face. A big big hug:) Love you:-Nonee

Twice as many Stars in the Sky
"Guys, have you seen Jacob anywhere?" Bhav poked her head into the dining room, her eyes taking a swift inventory of the people seated around the breakfast table.
"Hey Bhav, a very good morning to you as well," Aradhna told her, a small smirk on her face, "and thanks for asking. I slept very well! You?"
"Ha! Ha! Very funny! I've been looking for him everywhere! Where is he?" retorted Bhav, rolling her eyes at Aradhna.
"Bhav, you know what," said Nonee, biting into a butter filled toasted roll, "come and have breakfast. These rolls are heavenly. Mmmmm!"
Bhav looked at the spread on the side board longingly before a resolute expression crossed her face.
"I need to find Jacob first," she said quietly, "carry on, you guys, I'll just look outside in the gardennnn, oops, sorry Meer…" She had walked straight into Meera, who was just coming into the room, Prem walking behind her.
"Hey Bhav," Meera smiled and moved to hug her, "Good morning. Have you finished with breakfast already?" ("Morning Bhav." said Prem)
"Morning, Meera, Prem." Bhav nodded, starting to walk away, "Not yet. Be back in a bit." She turned and asked over her shoulder, "Have you seen Jacob anywhere?"
Meera turned back and shook her head, smiling. 'Sorry,' she mouthed, winking.
"I think I saw him by the Lake a while ago," said Prem, "but that was a good half hour ago."
"Cool," said Bhav, "I'll go look, just in case."
She ran into Mayank just as she reached the door leading to the garden. Mayank had a little bunch of wildflowers in his hand, a riot of wonderful colours against his black sweatshirt.
"What lovely flowers!" said Bhav, looking at the little posy in his hands.
Mayank suddenly looked very self conscious and toyed with the flowers in his hand. "Ummm, actually, I ran into Nonee's mum outside and she was picking flowers and so, I helped her….I mean.."
Bhav smiled, "They are really pretty. Aradhna will love them."
"Will she?" Mayank asked hopefully, realised what he'd said and stuttered, "No, no, I mean, this is just….I mean, I thought I'd…..for the house, not…."
Bhav shook her head at him, "She's in the dining room Mayank. And have you seen Jacob anywhere?"
Mayank shook his head, looking really flustered, as he walked by Bhav and into the house, the flowers clutched tightly in his palm.
Bhav walked out into the garden, her eyes on the pretty flowering beds, her mind on the last conversation she had had with Jacob, last night.
Staring out at the rain with a heavy heart
It's the end of the world in my mind
Then your voice pulls me back like a wake up call
I've been looking for the answer
Somewhere
I couldn't see that it was right there
But now I know what I didn't know
She had walked onto the open terrace behind the house, flanking the lawn, to find him standing at the edge, his body eerily still.
She had put out a hand on his still shoulder and was surprised to feel the muscles bunch and tense under her palm. He turned around and she had been shocked to see the anger on his face.
"What?...Jake, what's the matter?" she asked, her voice worried. What had happened to him. Just a couple of hours ago, they had been laughing and smiling together. What had gone wrong to make him look so angry!
Jacob wordlessly held out a piece of parchment, his eyes on her face.
"But what is this?" She asked him, her eyes searching his, her fingers moving of their own accord and taking the parchment from him.
As she took the parchment, something swooped down suddenly from one of the trees and startled her, causing her to stumble backwards. She shrieked as Jacob caught her and pulled her back on her feet. The parchment fluttered to the ground.
Two things happened all at once. Jacob crouched suddenly, swearing under his breath, reaching for something on the ground and Bhav realised what had startled her.
"Valhalla" she exclaimed, falling to her knees, "Jacob, stop! What are you doing?"
Jacob released the bird he had caught, looking at Bhav strangely and it flew at him sharply, it's talons outstretched. ("Valhalla, stop that! Come here at once," shouted Bhav)
The bird, a big black eagle owl, immediately flew to Bhav's shoulder, suddenly looking deceptively docile. Bhav picked up the piece of parchment. 'Go away, Wolf-blood' it said, a curling signature below it, a signature she knew all too well.
Bhav and Jacob stared at each other, a mixture of emotions in both their eyes.
Because you live and breathe
Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help
Because you live, girl
My world has twice as many stars in the sky
"Boo," a voice broke into her reverie and Bhav jumped, her face relaxing as she recognized the voice.
"Gotcha!" laughed Shabo, her eyes dancing with mirth. She was dusting the sand off her shorts as she spoke.
"Grow up kiddo," Bhav told her, rolling her eyes.
"Nah!" winked Shabo, "Am having too much fun!"
"What are you upto anyway?" Bhav asked her curiously. Some mischief was being plotted here for sure. "And where is your partner in crime?"
"It's a secret Bhav," said Shabo cheekily, looking around her. "And did you see Manav and Maddy in the rose garden?" Bhav shook her head.
She's sitting for him. I don't know when that painting is going to be ready. In a few million years, I guess. All Manav does is stand and stare at Maddy," said Shabo.
That got a smile from Bhav. "He is totally besotted with Maddy, isn't he?"
"Totally!" exclaimed Shabo, "He's insane about her!"
"Anyone miss me," Preet sauntered up to them, his hands in his pockets.
"Speak of the devil," muttered Bhav and Shabo laughed.
"The devil's always irresistible Bhav," Preet told her, his eyes gleaming wickedly, "And speaking of irresistible things or should I say persons……." He paused for effect and smiled again, "I just saw Jacob run into the house as if the hounds of hell were following him"
"Oh!" said Bhav, looking relieved, "thanks guys. I need to speak with him. Catch you later." She turned and made her way back into the house, the teasing, for once going unheeded.
Nonee caught hold of her as she walked into the house. "Bhav, I need to speak with you."
"Not now Nonee, please," replied Bhav, pulling her hand away. "I need to speak to Jacob right now."
"Bhav, the study," called out Nonee, "Bhav, wait!"
Bhav ignored her and started running up the stairs, Nonee at her heels.
It's alright, I survived, I'm alive again
Cuz of you, made it through every storm
What is life, what's the use if you're killing time
I'm so glad I found an angel
Someone
Who was there when all my hopes fell
I wanna fly, looking in your eyes
Bhav reached the study and pushed against the door but it didn't open. She looked around her and her eyes fell on Nonee, who came up huffing and puffing, her hand against her throat.
Nonee pulled her towards the corner of the landing, where a painting of a knight slaying a dragon hung. She tweaked the tail of the dragon, causing a small portion of the wall to move sideways, leaving a small entrance open.
She stood aside, gesturing Bhav to walk inside.
Bhav stared in shock at the tall blonde cloaked in deep black robes, his arm outstretched, his wand pointed at Jacob's throat. Jacob looked back calmly, his eyes flickering for an instant as she walked in.
Because you live and breathe
Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help
Because you live, girl
My world has twice as many stars in the sky
Because you live, I live
She tried to speak but no words would form. She looked sideways for Nonee but she had disappeared, the wall closing behind her.
She watched in horror as the blonde guy started muttering something, his voice cold and deep. Without thinking, she just flung herself into the fray, her arms outstretched, protecting Jacob as she glared into furious slate gray eyes.
"What the hell do you think you're doing Bhav," an angry Draco barked, his eyes locking on to hers.
A strong pair of arms came around her, physically lifting her out of the way. "What. Do. You. Think. You. Are. Doing?" Jacob growled at her, his eyes grim, "Have you lost your mind? Another second and this pile of horseshit would have cursed you!"
Because you live there's a reason why
I carry on when I lose the fight
I want to give what you've given me always
"I wouldn't hurt a hair on her head, you lunatic excuse for a shape shifter," Draco sneered back, raising his arm and pointing it towards Jacob, "Move away Bhav. I don't know why you associate with the likes of such rubbish."
"Yes, use that little piece of wood, Malfoy," mocked Jacob, "Haven't you heard or read? Magic doesn't work on the members of the Quileute! Why don't you come outside and we can deal with this like men."
"Yes, of course, the little werewolf thinks he knows it all," sneered Draco, "perhaps, the Quileute is immune to effects of a flash of mercury as well! Let's see shall we!" Draco muttered something and a bright flash sparked off in front of Jacob causing him to jump backwards as if shot, his hands coming up frantically before his face.
Draco laughed, a cold high laugh. "I thought not! So,…"
Bhav pulled at Draco's arm sharply, causing him to drop his wand arm and look at her. "Stop it Draco! Have you gone insane? Jake, are you alright?"
Because you live and breathe
Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help
Because you live, girl
My world has twice as many stars in the sky
"So, it's Jake now, is it?" drawled Draco, shooting an unpleasant look at Jacob, who was pressing his forehead and looking very pale.
Bhav went upto Jacob and touched his arm. "Jake, are you alright?" she asked him again softly. He nodded, looking at her, his face still leached of all colour.
"You attacked Jacob, Draco! How could you? I can't believe you would stoop to such behaviour. I thought we were friends." Bhav told him coldly.
Draco turned and looked at Bhav, the sneer on his face dissolving away, suddenly looking slightly lost.
"I thought we were friends too," Draco told her quietly, his eyes searching her face, "But I guess, he's (he threw a look filled with loathing at Jacob) the only thing important to you at the moment.
Bhav opened her mouth to say something but Draco turned around, his robes swishing around him elegantly, "This is far from finished Wolf-blood! You'll be seeing me!" he muttered before disapparating with a crack.
"Are you alright?" Bhav repeated anxiously.
Jacob stared at her for a moment before reaching out and shaking her by the shoulders.
"Don't ever do something so foolhardy again!" Jacob said furiously, "Do you understand? What if Malfoy had…"
"I can't believe he tried to hurt you," she told him quietly, her eyes filling with tears.
"He loves you, doesn't he?" came the soft rejoinder.
"Don't be silly Jake," she told him, her eyes huge in her pixie like face, "he's just very protective. We've been friends almost from the cradle. He won't do anything to hurt me. But I can't believe he tried to hurt you like that…to, to….to…hurt…" her voice broke into a sob.
He pulled her into his arms, one of his hands moving through her hair, "Hush! Bhav, please don't cry. Malfoy doesn't upset me! He's just a worm. Your tears upset me though. Please, please don't cry."
Because you live and breathe
Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help
Because you live, girl
My world has everything I need to survive
Suddenly the fireplace emitted sparks, startling them, and then a low emerald fire appeared. Jacob stared silently, looking at the dark haired boy with messy hair and round glasses standing in it and peering at them.
"Hello there," the dark haired guy was smiling apologetically. "All right, Bhav."
Jacob noticed the lightening shaped scar on his forehead and smiled back. "Oh! Hello Harry."
"Hello Harry," replied Bhav, "Long time! This is Jacob."
Harry smiled, holding out his hand.
"Ummm," said Harry, still looking apologetic, "Nonee just owled me about Malfoy and I thought I'd come along and take a look. Sorry about barging in like that. I'll go find Nonee. Nice meeting you Jacob."
Bhav and Jacob looked at each other, a small smile on each of their faces. "Walk with me by the Lake," Jacob asked.
"It's started to drizzle," pointed out Bhav, a tiny smile on her face.
"I thought you liked the rain," he told her softly.
"I thought you hated it," she replied, just as softly.
"That was before I met you," he told her, looking at her intently, taking her hand in his and dropping a kiss on her knuckles.
She smiled at him and let him lead her away.
