Raksha & Payal,
Sorry had to leave then, had some chores to finish.
Well even I witnessed a trace of GS in Prem today but what I felt that they were trying to balance the emotions in that scene. Instead of making it too tragic they were trying to bring a cheery air in it I guess. Kind of trying to put a silver lining over the gray mood.
I think they must have read ample posts about how they r only crying & we want to see them happy, so this was the outcome of those posts I guess.
Another factor I think is we have a new director now & so obviously his treatment of scenes & situations will be different from the previous ones. So I am already anticipating some more changes in the characters, good or bad we will have to see.
But I guess HC could have tried to notch it down to another level for this scene. He was trying to make her happy from feeling so bleak so he himself had to feel very sprightly (even if its a little put-on) if he had to make her airy as well.
Just my 2 cents of worth.
Raksha I understand what u said about her believing in his intelligence but somewhere when she suddenly has so much of faith in her 'bhagwan' won't she even try something to see some prospect to see him get well? I thought she would walk to the end of the world to see him cured with her faith in God that he won't make her undergo through such a catastrophe!
But I think they obviously r avoiding this scenario for the obvious reasons & moreover I feel again Heer has to overhear the plot of that mom & doc & she will reveal them. Prem won't overhear because even if he does for his guilt he will try to keep the mom with him if not go & stay with her so it has to be Heer who will be in the limelight to bring the truth to the front.

I totally agree with Rakshu Payal & Ighosh........
But this all points out that creatives do read this Forum... They did get rid of that crying Prem and showed cheerful (obviously Faking) Prem. Although a little too Rapidly. But after todays Epi I am sure we are about to see a Phingoli.. Cos that "Akhri Raat" dialogue & that back hug was clearly indicating Prem's intention of a Romantic last moments together.
Did yall notice that they didnt wait too long to disclose it to us that Prem doesn't have any disease. Cos they were scared of the viewers response affecting the TRP. This track was to happen but not keeping it a suspense for us...or else BT would have to go through same trouble they did during Prem's demise.

I think her not being able to think anything beyond Prem's leaving her including taking him to another doctor explains it all, Lana...That idea of taking him to another doctor comes only when she doesn't trust his intelligence no? And we know how blindly she believes and has faith in him...

BTW..Heer looked soooooooo pretty today...and in that scene when Prem hugs her from behind...where her neck gets exposed...I think AG has got one of the best necks I have seen offlate...haha...yep..I am a keen observer of people's necks...ROFL

U said it Raksha, she has a class and style. She was looking so pretty and with little kid crying look on her face. So cute

Bee,

Thank you for putting things into perspective for me from Prem's POV. I am really having a hard time relating to him these days. Like Raksh, I could relate to him more in the second segment than I could the first. I see exactly what you are saying though. I had to watch the scene a third time to realize that he was trying really really hard not to break down too. Thank you for pointing out to me that GS is infact now Prem's defense mechanism. I don't know how I could have missed making that connection. I feel better now after reading your post because I find that, taking all you've said into concideration, I'm better able to relate to him.

Lana,

I too at first thought he could have cut the GS act, but after reading Bee's post, It all makes sense. I am with you though, on wanting to see Heer be hellbent on finding a way to cure Prem, instead of letting him just go off somewhere to die without her. I dunno, it just doesn't make sense that she would sit idle and do nothing....but, like you said, they need the truth to come out in a different manner. And I too think that Heer will find out the truth as opposed to Prem or both Premeer - but mainly only because I think they need to, as you said, glorify Heer. I will say though, if Prem's guilt compells him to keep GS's mom with him, or go stay with her, I don't mind the latter so much - if he takes Heer with him...i don't mind them leaving JZoo...especially now with the typical saas-bahu khit pit that is about to start....

Shabs, I agree with you - they did let the audience in on the fact that Prem didn't have any heart defect only to save themselves. If they had let the aud continue to believe that Prem was really dying, they would only have been comitting suicide...anyway, lets see how they decide to disclose this same info to Premeer...I hope they do it soon.

Love,
~P

His joking around and fake cheerfulness made the situation even more hopelessly tragic.

Also, I thought there were aspects of GS in that, as hiding behind the mask of Gaurav has become his defence mechanism now. If he was Prem, seeing Heer cry like that, and thinking about his own death, if he allowed himself to become even a little sad, he would have completely broken down. He could not afford that, at the moment.
I think his aloofness, or disconnect, with the situation is the only way he will stop himself from going insane. Heer has the option of shedding tears. If Prem were to do that, he'd probably be crying for months, because I doubt he could express much of his pain when he lived with G's mom. Then, he came back to his OWN family, and he had to continue his charade. A normal person would have lost it (well, they would also have gotten a second opinion, but whatever). I think like he said earlier, he's had so much pain, that he's 'become numb to the feeling of pain'.

Bee...very well said....It really makes sense now...Moreover we have to remember that Prem became GS several months ago and not today to feel any fresh pain...They did not show it, but its not even hard to imagine what pain he must have gone through trying to steel himself against any emotions for his family and Heer...

P and Pallavi...Like I am telling Bee...we also should keep in mind that he isn't dealing with this pain now....he already dealt with it and made his heart into a stone before taking such a tough decision of turning into GS...So this isn't new to him...He has seen it all...His coming across as indifferent to Heer is only to make her also feel indifferent towards him...

But I agree with Lana...HC for the first time wasn't able to put his point across as efficiently as he does every single time otherwise...For the first time, it took me more than once to really get to the bottom of Prem's feelings...Or is it supposed to be that way???hmm..

Lana...you got it...lol....If they put all the logic, then no track will exist for more than a episode.....Mostly all the tracks are illogical and insane....But I am guessing there are some people like this too...and they are taking that one scenario...That's why my complaints are only towards the chracterization...We can't complain much on the story line...Because thats something the creator builds it upon his/her own visualization....

Shab....exactly....they did a great favor to themselves by revealing to us that Prem has no silly ailment like that....However that is also what is working against them right now...People are not able to get the fudge the characters are going through, when there is supposedly no disease....I mean the crying isn't exactly being translated to the audience the way they wanted it to be...

Jyoti...tell me about it...Heer is winning my heart all over again...and AG is as usual beautiful..and aaj ka toh she is looking even more pretyy.....I have always found her as one of the prettiest actresses around...

payal yes he did sound like gaurav but that is because he was trying to put up a brave act infront of her, he was not himself thats why indifferent.................he didnot really say anything much to heer to console her did he? Because he knows nothing would make it alright! "itna ghussa nahi kurtey" "rotey nahi" "sab theek ho jae ga" wasn't consoling was it? He knows abt heer's pain, he knows it won't be alright for her ever but there is nothing he can do about it! And did you notice his eyes? How the longed for heer despite that smile on his lips?

Raksh, you're right - just because we are getting insight into his pain now, I feel like he should be affected by it the way we are or Heer is...but I forget that he's known about this for months and has had time to numb himself from it...thus the speal he gave Heer about dealing with so much pain, that eventually, you go numb....wow...it's all coming full circle now.

As for HC falling a bit short on the Prem act today - I too couldn't help but wonder - was it intentional?

And Yes LuSo, I DID see his eyes - especially when she hugged him - despite the smile, his eyes portrayed a different emotion altogether.

Thanks guys...I feel better now.

I don't know why but i have different say..
I think the whole act of Prem being casual infront of heer cheering her , consoling her seemed to me as if he is teasing her ...Like the way he said sorry, Gussa nahi karte, sab thik ho jayega...I mean why i have the feeling that prem has come to know that he is fine and not dying else why he said it to heer "yeh mat puchna main kahan ja raha hoin, Main nahi batunga".The way he talked about his responsibilites getting over was also very casual and then he said tum chale jaogi to sab ka dyan kaun rakega/??etc...
I mean prem has definetly got some info may be from the doc itself and he is planning to give Heer a big surprise. From all his dialogs and the way he said leads me to this point.
May be he will wait for big drama when heer will reveal about him as GS the whole juneja family will bash her including Veera and Maya at that point Prem will reveal everything and the pain that heer went thru .may be with angerness he will just hold heer's hand and move out saying you people are not worth...
I am sure about some big drama coming up thats the reason prem looked so casual.
I may be wrong ...can't say with BT.
