It's important for Meet to go through problems/misunderstandings now to not only sodify their trust on each other, but also their relationship. This is a small conflict they will look back at and laugh after a few years (or at least i hope so)!!!!!! This is a romantic comedy, so i'm guessing you aren't going to have heavy duty drama in this FF!!!!! 😆

Yep definitely. Naw no heavy-dute fake-hole-in-the-heart drama from me! Just light-hearted romantic comedy misunderstandings!

Hahahaha that was written during my obsession, and I'm kinda over it now! Yeah I decided to use the Tannu-can-be-bribed-with-chocolate thing because it was just so cute! 😆 Don't worry, things eventually get better for Meher! 😃

I based that scene off me and Mum...Imagine me as Ash and Mum as Kuldi...😳 I didn't have a Meher either, but Mum did it for me! 😆 Oh, and the Meet thing gets a lot worse before it gets better...😔

But you portrayed Meher's insecurities so well, I really felt for her. And the whole Ash situation, with her having to learn how to cook - my family is trying to make me learn, they say I have to get married soon! *shudder* 😆 Loved it, as usual. It was written absolutely beautifully.

*shudder* Poor you! It's my Nani that keeps asking me when I'm going to get married, but then again, I hardly ever speak on the phone with her...*is sad* But thanks though! 😳

Part Thirteen

Preet lounged on his bed in front of the TV, mindlessly flipping through the channels and looking for something – anything – remotely interesting he could watch. A documentary on tornadoes on National Geographic caught his attention. He shrugged and set the remote down. He folded his hands behind his head, stretching his legs out in front of him. He gave a contented sigh.

Harman came into Preet's room. Preet groaned. "Arre, Bhaiya, kum se kum aaj toh mujhe chod lo!" he begged.

Ignoring him, Harman sat down on the bed, forcing Preet to scoot over to make room for him. Preet tried to grab the remote, but Harman got to it first. Adopting the same position he had found Preet in, he flipped through the channels, settling on a cartoon.

Preet groaned again. "What do you want?" he whined.

Harman ignored his question again. "There's nothing good on TV, is there?"

Preet folded his arms sulkily. Nighttime was Preet-time, and Harman was preventing him from having his Preet-time. Preet needed his Preet-time. "No."

Harman nodded and continued to stare at the TV for a while, snickering at the appropriate (and even the not-so-appropriate) places. Preet reached out for the remote, but Harman slapped his hand away. Preet glared at him. "Harman Bhai, what do you want?" he demanded.

Harman was silent for a moment more. "So have you asked Ash?"

Preet narrowed his eyes. You interrupted my Preet-time for THIS? he thought, annoyed. "I sent her flowers through Tannu. It had a card with a cheesy poem that ended with the question of whether or not she'd go with you for dinner."

"A cheesy poem? A note? Flowers through a kid? Preet, bachcha –" (Preet snarled. He hated being called bachcha.) "– have I taught you nothing?"

Preet reached out and switched off the TV. "If you've taught me so much then why aren't you asking her out yourself?"

Harman glanced at Preet. "Saturday night at the Carlton hotel. Make it happen, Preet. Or no watch."

With that, he left the room. Preet smothered his face with the pillow, groaning into it. Right now, the Swiss watch didn't seem very worth it.

Meher glanced at her clock, frowning slightly. It was a quarter past eight and Preet hadn't rung the doorbell yet. Shrugging and hoping that nothing had happened to him, she made her way to the kitchen, narrowly avoiding Varun and Tannu, who were being herded by Ash outside.

Kiran glanced up from the newspaper as Meher came into the kitchen. "Meher, aaj Preet nahin aa raha hai?" he asked.

"Vahi toh main bhi soch rahi hoon, Jiju," she replied, putting a slice of bread in the toaster. "Could you drop me off?"

Kiran grinned. "Sure! It'll be just like old times, no?"

Meher rolled her eyes at him, returning the smile.

"Tum dono ne apne-apne tiffins liye?" Ash asked them, pausing at the door.

Both Varun and Tannu nodded. Satisfied, Ash followed them outside.

It seemed that Harman was early today: he rounded the corner just as the trio made their way to the sidewalk. He came to a stop where they were.

"Good morning, bachchon!"

"Good morning, Harman Uncle!" Varun and Tannu chorused, grinning up at him.

He turned his attention to Ash. "Good morning, sunshine."

She narrowed her eyes at him. "Oye, Juneja, line maarne ki koshish kar li na, toh main tumhe chodoongi nahin!"

(Varun and Tannu giggled.)

"So I take it you got my flowers then?"

"Ek choti si bachchi se tumne flowers bheje? Aur voh bhi ek cheesy poem ke saath? Tum ladkiyon ko impress karna nahin jaante kya?"

(More giggles ensued. Ash looked down at them, raising an eyebrow, and both shut up, hiding their giggles behind their hands.)

"Main kya jaanu ki tumhe kya achcha lagta hai? Tumne toh mujhe bataya hi nahin. And I'm not psychic, you know."

Ash rolled her eyes. "Whatever."

Tannu tugged on the hem of Harman's shirt. He looked down. Tannu gestured for him to come lower. He bent down till he was eye level.

"Harman Uncle, hum aapko bata sakte hain ki Ash Maasi ko kaise patana hai!" she whispered.

Ash pulled Tannu's ear lightly. "Don't you dare, Tannu."

Giggling, Tannu danced away from Harman and Ash, hiding behind the bigger build of her brother.

Of course, had she known the bus would choose that moment to come rumbling by, she probably wouldn't have done that.

"Bye, Ash Maasi! Bye, Harman Uncle!" Varun and Tannu called out, waving to the pair.

They waved back. Ash started to turn, but Harman grabbed her wrist. She whirled back to face Harman, anger flashing in her eyes. "Excuse me! Yeh tum kya kar rahe ho? Mera haath chodo!"

"Dinner on Saturday night at the Carlton hotel. Chalogi?"

"In your dreams, Juneja!" She wrenched her hand free and stormed back to the house.

Harman sighed. Hopefully Preet would do a better job than he had done.

Well, I hope Part Thirteen was happy enough for you! This is as happy as it'll get for another two or three parts, because it kinda goes downhill from here. Especially Part Fourteen. Just a warning. 😃 (Ugh that Sophia witch! Go Uther! My poor baby...he's enchanted! *sob*) Uh. Heh. Right. Um. So yeah. Part Fourteen on Monday, and remember that you HAVE been warned that it's going to be depressing! And if any of you start crying while reading Parts 14 to about 16 or 17..*lays out a large box of tissues* Yes, I truly am a sadist. 😆
