I loved this update! Yay😃 I love how Prem made Heer realize that her dad's always with her.. in spirit. I love how the old Heer's coming back, but then WAM! Here comes Daljeet 😡🤢 WHY MACARONI? WHYYYYY DO YOU DO THIS? 😭 Cuz I'm trying to end this FF soon😆 And when I planned this story, Daljeet was supposed to enter😆

I love the juxtaposition of this part. You have the beginnings of a recovery in the beginning for Heer, her becoming happy and stuff, and then the entry of DJ, and Heer's become subdued and scared. Thanks Radz😃 Prem's going to do something I hope? Maybe😊

As Daljeet headed towards the room where she would be staying, Heer stayed rooted to the couch. Kaki looked at Heer in concern and after trying to get a response out of Heer, she too left. Heer sat there thinking of the past.

"Why can't you be like other girls and learn how to cook?" Kaki yelled from the kitchen.

"Because I don't like to cook. It's too much work." Heer replied, sitting at the table eating an apple.

"I doubt your in-laws would be thrilled to have a daughter-in-law who's a kaamchor"

"Who said anything about marriage? I'm just going to stay here with Bauji"

"But one day you will leave us" Balraj said as he came walking down the stairs.

"Nahin Bauji. I'll never leave you" Heer protested, crossing her arms and facing the other way to prove her point.

"But one day you'll find someone you love more than anything. You'll find someone you love and spend the rest of your life with him." Balraj went to Heer, explaining to her how there is someone out there for her, who will one day come and change her life and take her away with him.

"Well whatever. That's not going to happen anytime soon. Plus he can always stay here. I don't want to leave you Bauji" Heer smiled at Balraj. She then looked towards Kaki "Plus Kaki's here to handle all the cooking" Before Balraj could say anything, Heer ran away with Kaki trying to get a hold of her and drag her to the kitchen to do work.

Bauji said that I would find someone I love and that I would get married to him but I guess that's not in my fate. The promise that Balraj had made to her was broken. Heer was going to marry someone she didn't know and there was nothing that she could do. The moment Daljeet had come and told her about Manmeet, Heer knew that she had no choice but to go through with this. The fear the Daljeet had instilled in her early in her childhood was still alive and because of that fear she couldn't refuse Daljeet. Not after what Daljeet had told her.

Heer had grabbed her duapatta and was heading outside to go to Shabo's house. Everyone else was going to meet up there and they were just going to hang out, something they hadn't done in a while. Since Heer was starting to become a bit happier, Shifali suggested that they should all go out together instead of being cooped up inside. Kimz had then suggested on having a picnic and since the park was closest to Shabo's house, they were meeting there.

While she was heading out, she saw someone standing at the door way. As she got closer, the smile she had on her face quickly vanished. She hadn't expected Daljeet to come. Daljeet hadn't been at the funeral so it made no sense to Heer to see Daljeet here. She stood there, not knowing what to say, while Daljeet just smiled at her.

"Heer! It's been so long? How are you?" Daljeet walked over to Heer and gave her a hug while Heer just stood there, trying to make sense of everything.

"I'm good Bua. What about you?" Heer replied quietly.

"I have a surprise for you" Daljeet let go of Heer and ignored Heer's question, "Tere liye ek rishta aaya hain."

"R-rishta?" Heer choked on the word. This was not a good sign. Daljeet had never been happy for Heer and her taking an interest in Heer's wedding made Heer suspicious.

"Haan. His name's Manmeet. He's a nice guy, comes from a good family and earns a lot too."

"B-but I don't know him. I can't get married. I don't want to get married. At least not this soon." Heer had just started healing and she wasn't ready to face another life altering change.

"It's ok Heer. I know him and I'm telling you it's ok. And besides, every girl has to get married sooner or later."

"I know Bua but can't we wait a while?"

Daljeet let out a sigh. "I'm sorry Heer but you can't. You probably don't know this but for the new school your Bauji had given money for, he got the money through mortgaging his land and this house. Now that he's gone, we don't have enough money to pay off the debt and we have to return the money next month. There isn't enough time." Heer was shocked, to say the least. She didn't know that her father had borrowed money and now Daljeet had come, saying she was going to lose her house? The place that held memories of her childhood and her Bauji? None of this was making any sense to her. She collapsed on to the couch behind her.

"You should feel lucky Heer that Manmeet has asked for your hand. He's also willing to pay off the debt if you agree."

"Daljeet? Tum yahaan?" Heer heard Kaki's voice. "Is everything alright?"

"I'm fine. But what about Heer? As soon as I heard about Balraj's death I came running here" Heer could hear Daljeet starting to cry. "But don't worry Heer. I'm staying here now. I'll take good care of you."

"But what about Vishakha? And Balwant? Aren't you needed back home? I'm here to take care of her." Kaki asked.

"Well Vishakha's married now so she's at her in-laws. And me and Balwant got divorced 5 years ago, don't you remember?"

"Oh…So how long will you be staying?" Kaki asked. Heer could tell Daljeet being here bothered Kaki as much as it bothered her.

"Jab tak Heer ki shaadi nahin ho jati" Daljeet replied happily. Heer and Kaki looked at Daljeet, shocked at what they were hearing. Heer hadn't even said yes. She need more time to think.

"Sh-sh-shaadi? Heer ki? Don't you think it's a bit early?" Kaki tried to reason with her.

"Nonsense. She's old enough to get married now and you can't keep a single girl at home forever. Fortunately I've found a boy for her."

"Don't you think you should've asked Heer first?" Heer could tell Kaki was starting to get annoyed.

"What's there to ask. I know Heer will never say no to me, right Heer?" Daljeet looked at Heer. "Shaadi karogi na?"

Heer didn't know what to say. All her life her father had told her that someone was out there for her, waiting and she had believe him. But know, Daljeet had come and was trying to fix her marriage. She wanted to say no but she couldn't. She could tell how badly Daljeet wanted Heer to say yes and was sure that it would benefit Daljeet and probably had nothing to do with her father and his debt as Daljeet had never cared about them. But the fear that what Daljeet had said might be true was there. She didn't know what to do. The house meant a lot for her. It's where she grew up, where her Bauji grew up. She couldn't let it all go. She knew what she had to do.

"Ji bua." Heer replied, agreeing to get married. She could tell Kaki was confused by her decision but there was nothing she could do.

Heer finally got up and went to her room, trying to feel better about the whole thing. She tried to have some hope that maybe Manmeet might be the one she's been waiting for but deep down, she knew she was just lying to herself. She was frustrated with everything. Things had finally started to get better but then everything came crashing down again.
