Excellently written Misty! We couldn't have formatted it better. Yes u have portrayed our feelings, anger & frustrations perfectly to the T.
I sincerely hope the creatives pay heed to this before they lose valuable viewers soon resulting in diminishing TRP's & ultimately like other shows this will also be scrapped off air.
I would suggest the creatives to give 2 days of their valuable time to watch all the old episodes to realise the crux of the show, the very theme on which they based their story initially. We fell in love with the eternal love story that connected 2 hearts crossing all boundaries & social structure. It was those unspoken words conveyed through those silent eyes that mesmerised us, attracted us. From day 1 we were assured Prem-Heer r one & that is what enthralled us. The style of story telling was also unique which made it stood apart from all other shows. And I am happy to say I give full credit to the directors back then Garry Bhinder & Ravindra Gautam & the writers & creative head back then for painting a story so beautifully on lens for our pleasure & admiration.
But sadly we can't say this now, its no more an eternal love story but is a suspence thriller where we have to find out every clue from every little nuances of the male lead whether he is our very own Prem or someone else! We didn't get attracted to a show to watch a mystery being unveiled but to watch a love story that spoke about an universal truth. So where is it now?
I sincerely thank u for the innovative show that u started a year back & the treatment u gave to its presentation & that is the reason we became your faithful viewers but now sadly not only the story has any logical sensible base but the treatment is also so haywire.
The consistency in the main characters r often broken, there r sudden changes which doesn't follow any continuity to the flow of the story & not to mention the illogical stuff that we see day in & day out & try to absorb & come to terms with pondering 'how is this possible, can it be true, do we ever see it happen in our daily lives?' A person being killed all of a sudden for no reason whatsoever, then the tragedy is being dragged for months to no end, then he is brought back again & is shown with all possible indications & predictions that its the very same guy who died is back now & all of a sudden when we were just preparing to see happy days being back again its taken from us showing he is some look alike who is acting for some mere cash, then a villain who is so baseless in his thinking, he seeks revenge on someone who never returned his sister's love & it was never his fault that his sister had an accident & is lying in coma.
For crying out loud I would say even Daljeet chachi had better intentions for revenge than this guy. I mean I fail to understand the logic here, the connection here to the initial love story we fell in love with. I know its a fiction & since its on camera it has to be larger than life but it should have some connection to reality, its almost as weird & unreal as the fairytales we read in our childhood & I will say even those looked more bona fide than this show.
I understand right from the beginning u had planned the demise of ur male lead & our heartfelt thanks for bringing him back on our requests but to what avail is my point here. I have not seen myself smile in more than handfull of episodes after he returned to the show. The happiness is so transient that even before we enjoy the happy moment we r hurled back to agony. We look for some entertainment when we watch a show & not strain our brain cells in thinking why, where, how, when & what! All we want is romance between the lead pair & instead we r left with solving some mystery whether he is Prem or not, whether he has memory loss or not, does that make any sense? Moreover how can we enjoy the romance if we r shown that male lead is GS & not Prem? We don't want to see romance between Heer & GS inspite of Harshad playing GS. We fell in love with THE Prem & we want the characters intact as Prem & Heer, period, even if Harshad is shown as a carrot dangling in front of our eyes! Seriously we have had enough!
One of the reason I fell in love with the show other than the chemistry & eye-contacts was the male lead 'Prem' himself. I thought for the 1st time we got a hero who is worthy of being one, his nature, personality, character, intensity & not to mention his looks was like the North star shining brightly navigating all of us towards the show. And I sincerely thank you all for this. But if that star is gone then obviously our direction will waver as well. We fell in love with the essence & soul of the character & not just with his face. So a look alike may fill in the blank about his look but the very soul will be missing. No matter how Prem-like he transforms into the bottom line will be he is not THE Prem. Heer's grief along with the family's we have already witnessed in October so 'no thanks' to the creatives if they plan to take the story that way again.
But all said & done I still think its the age old ploy of BT to create such scenarios where 'us' the audience after reaching that brink of pulling our hair out in frustration & torment they will suddenly turn around showing us it was Prem all along. Obviously they will show his main intention was saving his family & thus his reacting in this way but there will be ample loose ends which will be left untied like these monologues he was having today about the money or when he saw Heer in the plane. All of these will be forgotten very conveniently. Like they suppose we forget that last week itself as Prem he was having flashbacks of himself with his brothers about the soccer match he played in Canada & other moments of his life. They want us to believe all those moments RR told him when RR himself was no where present in those instances of Prem's life!
So I still believe through some weird scenarios & logic they will tell us it was Prem all along acting as GS. And I am absolutely certain all attributes of THE Prem will soon be extinguished when we will see him act pretty inhuman to his family, be incompassionate to Heer, infact I am preparing myself to see him shout at Heer ruthlessly....after all this even if we see THE Prem back in the show then too his image will somewhat be tainted. That essence or soul will be tarnished for good for his present behaviour no matter how he will justify his case later. If this 3rd wheel turns out to be Heer which I am expecting then where will be the soul of an innocent naive girl from the village of Ambala? Because only she would want him to stay with her & the family to turn around their fate. And she must have seen & heard the conversation between RR & Prem the other day to adopt this new plan of action. My speculation here but the fact is I will lose my interest on the characters because I won't be able to relate to them as they were initially introduced.
So if you all really want to turn the show around please stick to the original storyline of eternal love transcending all boundaries between the lead pair keeping the characters consistent. They can solve family problems together for later, there can be innumerable tracks that can be followed.
Or else I agree please pull up your socks or end the show for good before the channel pulls out the plug themselves. Thanks for this wonderful post again Misty.
