Both of them stared at one another, Heer sucked in a breath of air, "What are you doing here?" she raised her eyebrow.

He looked around still trying to connect the dots, So she's the same Heer I bumped into this morning... meaning that she's Heer! He began to speak as everything began to make sense, "I don't know what should I be doing here?"

"Excuse me?"

Suddenly his tone changed, "Yeah excuse you... now if you could please move to the side?" his voice was sounded alluring; his eyes gestured toward the side.

Heer froze, her mind was muddled by his change in tone, her thoughts incoherent. She didn't move.

He glanced up looking at her through is long black lashes and set them into hers, as if he was trying to read her, as if her eyes would say something back. The darkness of room added a strange element of vulnerability, which Heer felt.

Her pulse quickened as his eyes pierced through her. Then he took a step forward, closing the distance between them, she slowly took a step back, but he continued to move forward. Their eyes remained locked into one another's. Once he was in the door he shut the door behind himself, this startled Heer. Snapping out of it she took in a deep breath ready to speak when she heard a phone ring. Prem stayed composed and calm his eye's still on her, reaching into his pocket for his phone; he rejected the call and walked pass Heer, half smiling and began to proceed down the hall where he saw light.

Still confused Heer followed this stranger, curious to see what exactly he was going to do.

"Prem beta!" Balraj exclaimed.

Heer's mouth fell open; she was dumbfounded by what she just heard. She didn't know how to react instead she just stood in the corner of the living room while everyone greeted Prem. Balraj seemed a little too excited and Lalit just couldn't stop bragging about him.

That was when Preet walked down the spiralled stairs. He smiled at Heer, "Preet!!!" She gasped, "Wow look at you! Ahah!"

"I know ...I know, don't have to say it," Preet shook his head grinning.

Heer and Preet continued to conversate, with on and off fits of laughter. Ash sat on the other end of the couch just listening to the conversation, a little puzzled by Preet's sudden change in attitude, it was like she met a totally different person upstairs and the person sitting on the other side of the couch was his opposite.

It was 2:10 am, when everyone decided it was time to go to bed. The Mann's had quite a large house that comfortably accommodated the two families. The two biggest rooms of the house, one of which was Balraj and Teji's and the second one would be Gaytri and Lalit's room. Those two rooms where on the other side of the house down the long stretch of the hall. Nihaal's room was downstairs, Ash's room opposite Heer's. Heer would now have a new neighbour, which was Prem. And Preet's room was at the end of the hall away from everyone else's.

Teji had told Heer to get out the spare blanket's and offer them to the guests. After brushing, Heer changed into her PJ's. A lavender tank top with matching silk pants.

Heer hesitated to knock on Prem's door, she didn't know how to react, what to say... if she should say hi and begin to talk normally or to just not talk much at all. Before she knew he was Prem, they didn't have a very pleasant introduction. And now he was living under the same roof as her and right next door. She still felt that he wasn't a decent guy, she didn't appreciate his comments from the coffee shop, and then at work today. And tonight how he approached her made her feel like she needed to be on her guard.

She tapped the door lightly, clutching a thick comforter in her arms, the door opened.

Prem looked at her; she stole a quick glance of him then lowered her gaze. Handing him the comforter without saying a word, she turned to leave.

Prem stopped her, "Arn't you going to say hi?"

She turned her head, "Oh... hi," then bolted into her room and slammed the door shut.
