i agree with that. i've always liked ag a lot -- and suddenly in the 18 dec show, in that light and setting, she suddenly looked completely like a queen. and the funny thing is that when he stood on the sand dunes, prem was like a ... prince. not yet a king.

spinning this analogy out: heer looksl ike she's already been through hard times, good times, throught he pain of taking really hard decisions. she is royalty!

while the prem on the sand dunes somehow looks like he is fully capable of being king ... but is not quite there yet!

queen and prince. heer and her prem. he's gonna have to fight to win her hand... what joy! (or is that too heretical a thing to say, here and now? 😆)

I hope the creatives do not keep Prem a mystery for too long. We need to hear his thoughts, what he feels. Prem's character is the essence of this story. We need to keep that alive and not create another suspense story. It is a 'love' story after all and how it overcomes challenges.

The essence of the story must stay the same. No voice overs besides those of the original actors and no changes in the singers. However, good the final product is; these minute details if not looked after spoil the ambience of the story.

*sigh* i know. i do think that they've remained remarkably true to the prem-heer-are-one - and so i trust that is the story. and keeping that true is really the hard part of all story telling. but i agree with you -- seems like it should be easier to get down pat the technical aspects of making a well-paced show. and yet, they seem to often be very volatile 'bout this. they're either brilliant or flawed. *sigh* here's w&w, and hoping that things just keep getting better and better..? 😊

I missed posting too and there wasn't anything to post a topic on..because when I said I am not watching KDMHMD till Prem comes back, I meant it. I didn't watch even one epi. In fact we all even stopped discussing the epi's during our convo's. Only Nans used to watch the epi and she only mentioned it if there was a Prem Flashback. That's when she used to say "Watch the second part, Prem was there." And that's it. But now that Prem is back, I think there'll be posts and Andolans again😉😆

the last one's easiest: heer is the prized juneja son-daughter. (prem-heer-are-one, remember? 😆) ratty's clearly the sewage villain. her marrying him will stun them for sure. especially if they figure she's done it to keep them whole. i'm also confused 'bout the first one: at first, i had the distinct impression he hated - old mr. juneja. omething he ranted to satpal 'bout hating fathers, remember? i think that's still true. i think his animosity with prem is 'cause prem is lalit-juneja's backbone . with prem not in the picture, break heer(-prem) and you get lalit-juneja. if that's true, then the reason for the revenge has to be way beyond sanjana (who died due to malnutrition!!!! 🤣 if only prem knew the real story!!!). and ratty .. in love?? i just don't get that. i just can't figure why delay our knowing the secret. is it important for heer not to know before he actually marries/gets engaged to her? if she knows, will she not agree?

oh, that's when she is standing at the river's edge, trying to immerse the flowers and (in that horrid dubbed voice!) heer asks the gods why she was given prem if they just meant to take him away just as she learnt how to live... the dialogues were brilliant. if only it had been in ag's voice..

her final ferocious fight against ratpal -- i remembered the heer who served at prem's hotel and fought off those abusive men with all the strength and indignation her young heart could muster! *fiercely - go heer!!* Final ferocious fight? Is this what I saw in the "up next" preview when he threw her to the ground? I don't remember this....but, I do remember the hotel scene u speak of...

yes, after ratpal drags her back to the mahal, heer (in her own voice here) shrieks at ratpal saying that she will not get engaged to him. that's when he tells her "your business will be destroyed. your father with heart-problems will be shattered. your mother is mad". that moment -- when heer tries to fight, but finds out that ratpal is holding all the cards.

her poor exhautsed mind rationalising what she had seen the previous night, with what she had to do for her family. Don't think I saw this either...was this the "jo mera woh tumhara" dialog I heard being talked about that I didn't watch? Sheesh, E, do I really need to go back and watch ALL these scenes? You know I will if you ask me to...

and this is the scene just after -- that was the "heer-ranjha. romeo-juliet. all lived together and died together and their love stories became immortal". if you haven't seen this bit, you must. actually, i don't know your tolerance level - but i think other than the first part of the second segment, the first part is worth watching - just for heer... 😍

if you didn't see the first part of 18th dec, you should. it had ratpal breaking down heer's defences. and then the "immortal love stories" conversation heer has in her head, dressing up for the engagement -- and that was brilliant. there was also a meet cameo - watchable. in between, there was a useless part with (a) convo between ratpal and kodiyonpal and (b) some native rajasthani dance entertainment. 🥱
