Here is what you all have been waiting for....ENJOY AND MAKE LOTS OF LONG COMMENTS...YOU TOO KARTHIKA..I MEAN IT..I WORKED THREE HOURS ON THIS...!!😳
Part 22

Waking up to a crisp morning on February 14th (Valentine's day), it was a maddening rush at both the houses of Heer and Prem's as everyone was preparing for the grande wedding that was to take place today. Everyone was packing up to leave for Mumbai as they wedding was arranged to take place over there. Heer hadn't slept all night as she had been tossing and turning with the sorrow of leaving her family and the excitement that came with being with Prem. Truly, no one had slept in the house as they knew that the twinkle of the house was leaving to another place and that she did not belong to them anymore; after all she was a daughter and they were meant to be strangers to their maternal home.

Everyone from Heer's family got into the bus to travel to Mumbai. Upon arriving in the busy streets of Mumbai- a unique city that attracts people from all over the world to its beautiful surroundings- the Maan's realized that even though it was a 6 hour drive, it had passed with in minutes and each minute, Heer was going further and further away from them.

They finally arrived at Prem's house where Heer was taken inside a room quickly without being able to be seen by Prem as it was inauspicious for the groom to see the bride before the wedding. Prem rushed out on to the porch to see his to-be wife but was disappointed to find her family staring at his anxiousness to be with his love, his confidant, his Heer. He took their blessing and walked back in the house with a solemn face. He noticed Heer walking up the stairs with another lady, more likey, his cousin Anjali, but as usual, he paid no attention to Anjali and rushed upstairs to see Heer. Upon arriving to the Guest Room decorated with flowers and ribbons for the wedding, he pushed the door open to see Heer but was stopped by Anjali'

"yaar, please I have to talk to Heer" Prem anxiously begged to be let in

"Bhaiyya, you have to wait only'12 more hours and you can spend the rest of your life with her", Anjali said with a smirk, "Patience bears good fruit remember, be patient and you'll get what you want"

The wink from Anjali made both Heer and Prem blush as they both went their separate ways. The women were in the kitchen making last arrangements for the wedding to take place. Many ladies from the salon came to the Juneja residence to get the women ready for the wedding. All the women, from cousins to their cousins, to aunts, to sisters, to the elderly, had gathered in the guest room 'which was large enough to hold all these women- and they were all singing while henna was being applied to their palms. After the henna, Heer was taken to another room accompanied by two of the salon ladies to help her get ready. No one was to see her as she wanted it to be a surprise. Prem entered the guest room not realizing that Heer had been taken to another room'

"Who, mein..", He hesitantly said as his eyes browsed the room for his one and only," I came to give you this book mamma"

"Address book?" questioned Gayatri as she knew why he had truly been in the room

"Adress book??? I mean yeah address book because'because I cant find'I don't know'Can you find Papa's cell number in here?"

"Your papa is downstairs, why do you need his number?"

"oh right" he smiled hesitantly. He felt himself blush as all the girls got up to give a beating but thank fully he ran out the door as fast as he could leaving a room full of laughter

It was finally the time for the wedding as the guests gathered in the "blissful beginnings" wedding hall and the chatter grew loud. The Hall was the size of any other shaadi halls in Mumbai but only much more desirable for the bride and the groom. The freshly laid bricks glistened in the twilight sunset, like a giant colossal ruby, with chunks of highly polished diamonds, which were of course the windows. The great terracotta roof sat perfectly, resembling a large red hat. This was just the outside. The large majestic oak door was pushed open, immediately hitting them with a smell of fresh Italian leather from the sitting room chairs. The walls looked as soft as butter, but were thankfully as hard as stone, which said something about how welcoming they looked, the newly fitted feathery red Axminster carpet helped Prem walk silently, and not one floor board creaked as he proceeded to the chair reserved for the groom, which glowed like hot coals in the radiance of the evening sunset. Everyone was drowned in the sweet smell of handpicked roses, from the garden, which gave a gentle red relief to the bright orange inferno. Prem got to his chair and sat in an aqua sherwani with distinctive embellishment on cuffs. Light embroidery work all over the top varying colors of red silver and gold and a red stole with an offwhite bottom and aqua shoes. http://www.bharatplaza.com/showitem.php?itemid=CM023&catid=129&pageno=3&uid=1229913387

(just pretend Prem and Heer are in those clothsP)

Shortly after Prem's seating, Meher, Daljeet and Teji came to help Heer sit beside Prem before they had to go to the nuptial for their wedding rituals. Meher was dressed in a light blue lehenga consisting of cream and maroon work. http://www.bharatplaza.com/showitem.php?itemid=BSL5023&catid=149&pageno=4&uid=1229913640

Heer sat beside Prem and later they were told to go to the nuptial. After the Pheres and blessing from elder, it was time to rukhsat (bid farewell) to their daughter.

Lambi judaii played in the background as Heer and Prem took steps forwards to the car which would drive Heer away from her family. Slowly, Heer walked to the end of the hall which awaited her family. Meher, her eyes puffy and red in which tears dwelled, was being comforted by Preet, who actually was happy taking Meher in his arms before their marriage. Teji was giving her last blessings to Heer and Daljeet sat in a corner remembering the times when Heer was just a child. By the look around, Heer let out the tears that she had been holding inside. She tightly squeezed Prem's hand in hers as her chin settled on her chest to let out her tears. She tightly closed her eyes but opened them quickly as she saw her childhood disappear and the separation of her from her family. Prem looked at Heer and his heart drowned in pain as he couldn't stand her crying. Not knowing what to do, he just kept staring at her, holding her hand, feeling the pain that she was enduring.

"Bye Heer didi, we will miss you so much", Meher said as tears poured out of her eyes

Heer hugged Meher tightly and moved closer to Teji'Teji just looked at Heer gently caressed her face but was not able to say anything'yet her eyes said everything Heer needed to know.

"Heer beta, I love you so much, remember to stay Happy and never lie", Daljeet said which sort of made Heer smile, "Prem, iska khayal rakhna"

Prem nodded and they were then seated in their car. Heer rolled down her window to wave goodbye as her family waved in sadness until the car took a turn and Heer's hand was not seen anymore. Heer's phone vibrated inside the car and it said "Dekha didi, 5 people went to the wedding and yet, only four are going back". The message made Heer weep more than she had ever before. Her heart was stuck in her throat and she knew that there was no turning back now. Prem once again, just rested Heer's head on his shoulders and stared as he knew, he couldn't say anything to make her feel better.

They arrived at the Juneja residence and were welcomed with all of Prem's cousins, nephews, nieces and aunts from all over the world. All stood at the door, still dressed in the outfits they had worn to the wedding- with the Holy rituals to be completed. Heer was welcomed by a Holy tray, followed by the pot of rice which she gently kicked to enter the house. She drowned her feet in the red water before entering the house and entered leaving red feet marks behind. Their whole family- consisting of about 75 people- sat in the large living room area with a milk bowl in which a ring was hidden. The point of the game was that who ever found the ring (the bride or the groom) would rule over the other person for the rest of their lives to come. Heer and Prem sat at opposite corners and drowned their hands inside the bowl to search for the ring. Amidst the cheering and applauding coming from the family members, Prem grabbed Heer's hand inside the bowl which made Heer shyly look down. As she tried to pull back, Gayatri noticed and pulled Prem's ear jokingly which made everyone smile and Heer and Prem blush. Finally, it was Heer who had found the ring'what we don't know is if Prem let her win or if she had truly found the ring herself'

After the game, Heer was taken inside Prem's room, I mean to say, Prem and Heer's room. As she entered the room, she noticed that the light in the room was dimmed and the light was in red color. The bath tub was decorated with red flowers surrounding it with mirrors around which could be covered up with the curtain. The wall and curtains were of cream color. http://www.darlingharbour.crowneplaza.com/functions/weddings/images/bridal-room-large2.jpg

Heer settled on top of the bed with her Lehenga spread out, eyes downcasted, and hands on her knees. She was alone. Prem tried to get inside the room but was stopped by his cousins who wanted ransoms to be handed out. Giving each off the girls 1000 ruppees, Prem dashed in the room as all the girls laughed. As he walked in, he closed the door behing him. He slowly took steps forward towards the bed where Heer was sitting. Heer could feel Prem's footsteps coming closer slowly and slowly and she crumpled the sheet a little in her hand as she felt nervous by him appearing beside her. As he settled on the bed, Heer's eyes closed and her breathing got deeper. Prem gently took off Heer's 'ghoonghat' and saw her eyes downcasted which brought a smile to his face as he witnessed her shy side, which was kind of alluring. He took her left hand in his and kissed her ring which sent a chill up her spine. Prem and Heer both felt the air around them get warmer as their blood rushed to their faces. Prem came closer to Heer's ear and gently took off her earings, directly looking at Heer's eyes which were still downcasted due to nervousness. He kissed her ear. He took off her veil from her head making sure not to pull any of her hair and then moved her hair aside. Placing a kiss on her neck, he took off the necklaces that she was wearing. Still behind Heer, Prem took her wrist in his and and took off her bangles. Heer could not breath anymore, all her blood had rushed to her face and her mind had betrayed her body by letting her heart take over. Heer got up from the bed and walked towards the window, veil-less. She was breathing deeply and was still looking at her feet when Prem came from the back and wrapped his hands around her waist slowly. He brought his hands to her shoulders and turned a shy Heer around to face him. He brought her face up by placing his index finger on her chin and pulled the barette from her hair letting her curls fall on her bare neck and shoulder. He pecked her lips and gently parted them with his tongue. He picked Heer up in his arms and brought her back to the bed'that night he had felt the tenderness of woman, the intimacy between him and Heer and had felt themselves become one'

Early Saturday morning, Heer woke to a great aroma. The strong scent lifted her up out of bed, to her feet, and she observed Prem sleep. He was sleeping with a gentle Mona Lisa smile on his face as if he had gotten what he had been wishing for. He was face down sleeping, emphasizing his child ness. Chills ran up her back when her bare feet first touched the cool carpeted flooring. The rising sun beamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows in the solarium as well as, the bay window above the conveniently placed double bowl sink. The sun flooded the room with its natural light and created a rather cheerful atmosphere. Heer immediately felt uncomfortably happy. This was a disturbingly cheerful place. Each strategic decoration was perfectly in place and the overemphasized motif was extreme and almost alarming. There was a shelf on each wall overflowing with clown figurines, each angled in such a way that their joyful smile shot at you instantly upon entrance.

Heer stepped out of the bathroom with her hair wrapped in a towel and sat near the dressing table. She took off the towel and moved her hair so that it can dry; the drops of water landed on Prem's face. He got up and stared at Heer with playful eyes. He came up to Heer who was dressed in a lusterous dark red saree. ,http://www.bharatplaza.com/showitem.php?itemid=AMG107&catid=78&pageno=1&uid=1229917338

Her face felt red once again as she saw Prem, her husband, standing behind her looking directly at her. She stood up and turned around to face him. He wouldn't say anything, he was just smiling. Silence was so awkward for Heer, she didn't know what to do, she just stood there nervously, being stared at. He brought her face into eye contact with his and a cold wind blew in through the window bringing in the aroma of new born roses symbolizing their new beginning'
