Hey
I kind of understand where the creatives are coming from because as a sibling i know the best possible way to get out of something I don't want to do is to ask my sister and she will back me up and find a way out of the situation.
Of course not before her wedding or anything stupid and why would Lallu do a business deal so close to the wedding when he knows all close family should be there.
Also what the creatives did about the bomb blast i would have done the same thing if I knew I knew no one there and if i did i would call to make sure they are ok. but i would get everyone out of there esp if there is something happening in the house.
I am not standing up for the creatives but i do understand where they are coming from and they have put it insensitively which they could have done better of.

He is just all talks and no action...

Even when his silly thoughtless plans to bring back Premeer to home have all flopped and always ended up putting the couple through more pain...

But now whatever he did, just so that he can stay and party and flirt with the girls , is unbelievable...

He said he was Prem's Lakshman...Would Lakshman allow his Ram to be separated from Sita and let him go away right before their marriage???

And today I HATE Preet for being soo full of himself...

His: Bombblasts toh har din hote rehte hai....😡

How insensitive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😡

I HATE PREET FROM TODAY!!!!

Sorry rakhsa, but I completely disagree with you!
Firstly it was not Preet's fault, Prem himself should not have gone. Next I think Preet is a much worthy brother, it's just that he hasn't many opportunities to show them due to Ekta. And all that he was doing to bring Premeer home was a big effort that I didn't see anyone else in the family doing. Next for the Bombblasts toh har din hote rehte hai line---believe it or not that is a comman man mentality. Many think that way...if it's not in their city nobody cares much! And for the ending of the whole bomb blasts and the way Ekta showed it...I would applaud her...because maybe the television medium can get it through peoople's head what a serious thing bomblasts are!
yes of course Prem will be terribly missed, but I don't think Preet has done ANYTHING wrong and SHOULD NOT be blamed. 😊

Well, The whole Idea of showing Preet as this bad, and so irresponsible is to make him feel guitly. He loves his Brother alot...WE all know that...But he is ver childish and irresponsible. Very careless...

But now he will realize this and wont forgive himself for what he did. He is not happy with what happened, and He will have the worst pain of his prem's lost, compared to others. Because not only he lost his brother, But he, himself, was the cause for it.

I will be the first one to stand up for Preet when that Lallu will try to dump guilt on him regarding Prem's death (if at all, am still in denial though....:( )

But this kind of insensitivity is not acceptable on the creatives' part...I cannot let it go saying its a common man thinking...

Am a common man too but I can never think that way...Sorry!

My thoughts: I thought Preet was insensitive regarding the bomb blasts, but I don't think the blame of Prems death should go to Preet. Blaming Preet for Prems death is sorta like If a child instead of going by the bus, asks her dad to pick her up, & if the dad dies in an accident on the way, its the kids fault. Preet never foresaw the supposed death coming, if he did, I am 100% sure Preet would not let Prem go @ any circumstances.

Honestly, I felt his bomb blasts ka comment was insensitive, but to me that did not ruin his character @ all. Preet always was irresponsable, I've never seen him rising to the occasion. And to Preet everything was of secondary importance to his world (that is his family and him), so obviously he did not care much about the bomb blasts. And given the context, that there was wedding celebrations going on around in the house. I don't think he was butchered because he switched off the TV. The blast was something impersonal to him, something that didn't count in Preets eyes, as his personal life wasn't in jeopardy. But now, all this is going to change IF Prem dies.

Honestly at this juncture I feel extremely sad for Preet. His one irresponsible act has led to such disastrous consequences - the supposed death of his brother, who he loved, admired, & looked up to. I mean he will have to pay a really huge price for his one stupid decision, and I think thats unfair. The guilt will literally kill him.

Anyways thanks Raksha di for this post, it was thought-provoking!!!

But Raksha then why are you blaming Preet in the first place?
I was not saying that every common man thinks that way, but not everyone is aware of the intensity and gravity of bombblasts, thus such thinking. Yes, I agree it's insensitive, but honestly many are insensitive when it comes to such instances. And that is what Preet represents. Being born and brought up abroad he does not realize the gravity of such situations. And soon he will. But I can never put the blame on one person. Preet is not to be blamed for Prem's death, NOT at all...sorry, but I completely disagree with you.

She is not blaming him, Preet is not even a real character, she is blaming the creatives who made the character of Preet.
I agree with both of you, RD for what she is saying about the creatives, and you for saying every man thinks different...

*thinks hard-ed-ly if kimz wants to reply here*

*thinks harder*

OUCH! My brain hurts... I think i'll say something... *puts armor on and enter's.... carefully*

I think your right, what Preet did was totally un-called for, it was insensitive, and totally rude. If he wanted Heer to feel better, he could've said something better than 'There's always bomb blasts going on'. When my mom see's something on TV, about ANY blasts... she takes the whole family and makes us pray for everyone out there.

The bombings going on in Delhi aren't usual... and Preet said it like it was an evereyday thing. Then again, we can't completely blame him. He wanted to shoo of the thought of Prem ever being in trouble. I guess you can say he was in denial, he didn't want to believe that anything could ever happen to Prem. A brother would probably react like that... But the dilouge's could have been written better.

I still love Preet, and I'm sure all my anger is going to instantly melt once he we see his repentance. Preet is one of the reasons I watch the show, he puts in the comical touch. Like if you saw in today's epi, I was already melting. I think his reaction's are normal.

Oooh btw Raksha, nice topic. We got to see everyones 'disscussive' side. (no thats not a word... i think)

Raksha I thought your first post just stated how you hated preet, and he was an unworthy brother. I don't think like that of him at all and maybe that is why I don't blame creatives for his character. Of course, Raksha this is my personal view and it is nothing against you personally. You were the first to welcome me on this section of IF, and we both tend to think alike many times, it's just this one view that I don't comprehend with. 😊
Shifali--I know Preet is only a character, and not a real person, but I don't find anything wrong in his character portrayal. Why should he be termed as an unworthy brother, when he isn't?
