hi ben, how r u doing..
I know I m not very active here.. but this is one topic I had to participate in..
well I can't choose 1 book.. so let me tell you all books I enjoyed reading so far.. Books have been my first and only love till date.

Pl. bear with me, my list is rather long.

I dont actually remember what I read in my childhood, but by early adolescence, I had read, The Gita (The original english translation), of course Ramayan, Mahabharat and panchatantra, MK Gandhi's "my experiment with Truth' Pt. Nehru's 'Letters from a father to a daughter" & Discovery of India. and a few more such books by such freedom fighters - since it was more than 20-25 years ago, i dont even remember the names now. ALso read 'Bible' during this period

In my teens, i read perry mason and novels by james hadley chase - in fact, i doubt if there is any perry mason that i haven't read.

Then came Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility and 1-2 others

Then, Agatha Christie - There is probably not a single novel of hers that i havent read.

Then I started reading David Baldacci, and Dan Brown - Of course i first read his Da Vinci COde and got addicted to him, read all 6 books of his and my fave is Deception Point

Then Chetan Bhagat Of course - read all his books

Then, Harry Potter Series- of course who can resist them

Then, Daniele Steel - she is a beautiful and sensitive writer

Of course, there are lots of other books which i read and enjoyed. Special mention to 3 books:

The Wreck - by Ravindranath Tagore
The TWenteeth Wife by Indu Sunderesan
And of course, a choice of many in recent times, 'PS I love you'.

Filhaal toh itna hi yaad aa raha hai

sorry for this long long list but I m totally crazy abt books..

Thank you for sharing Shonali. I don't understand Marathi but another book that follows the account of mother and child is 'Fragile' by Nicki Shisler - it is such a touching book. Also, one of my all time favourites' 'The Road' by Cormac McCarthy follows an unbreakable bond between father and son :)
