Coming to Warris... it will surely have an audience of its own. To begin with the 11 pm slot is mostly dominated by the youth... which is more of a practical crowd... so not much of loyal viewer ship unlike the saas bahu drama which have very loyal viewer ship of the older generation(and i am not talking about the IF crowd) It is also a time slot which has a lot of male audience watching Tv(after their wives and mothers have called it a day they manage to get teh remote for themselves😆) which is where Waaris may have the edge because of God Father/Sarkar story line....with action and politics of power in place. Not to forget Iqbal fan base which is pretty huge and are waiting to see him back on a prime channel(not many get Star one) To its credit it has Smriti Irani behind it whose priorities as a producer lies in maintaining creative sensibilities over TRP games... I prefer Smriti the Producer over the Actor anyday. If they manage the backing of Applause entertainment even this time around... nothing like it. Smriti's productions manage to get the finest ensemble of actors... who are a treat to watch because each of them have a role to play and their character very well defined even if it is a small character. If Vikram Gokhale and Vinod Khana's role as the patriarch of the family in Virudh and Mere Apne respectively is anything to go by and given the fact that Ashish returns after 11 years... the role must be something to die for. If Ashish -Iqbal equation is as good if not more than what one saw in Virudh between Vikram Gokhale and Sushant Singh... the show is a winner.
Things which might go against Warris is the fact that it is the a very famous story... told & seen many times... it really has to have something novel to offer to get the audience to watch the show. Comparisons are inevitable... if parallels arent drawn between the classic God Father, Marlon Brando and Al Pacino... it will surely be compared to Sarkar, Amithab Bachchan and Abhishek. The comparisons began with the promos itself... be it Sarkar's style of waving his hand or Iqbal's look😕 And these are the standards set by the best in the industry... even the smallest of shortcomings(if inspired) is going to be jarring. Kayamat team seems ready for the competition with Sandip Sikand heading this show(but he hasnt had great success in his prev 2 shows... CHA and Parivar) and having one of its leads being murdered to spice up the show.
Finally, I think Warris will be a show with very sharp creative sensibilities and i mean in all depts. Warris has what it takes to be a far superior product creativity wise... but they are up against the popularity of Michi and their love story. Lets see what happens... personally i am surely giving Warris more than a chance...unless ofcourse the Sujalian in me refuses to sideline its most adorable Kiddo😆
