Part 4:
Milind and Prachi reached work place in half an hour with Milind's high
speed erratic driving. Prachi was stuck by awe at his behaviour and
thought if she tried to say something it will only make the situation
worse. Finally when they reached the office, she thanked God that no
accident happened.
Milind thought he would give some work load to Prachi which she won't
be able handle and let her decide herself that she can't manage working
with him. That would make her stop coming to office on her own then. As
they entered the office, Milind was wished by his workers with a lot of
respect. There were 10 different issues he had to attend with managers
and assistants, while Prachi kept on observing him. She admired his able
businessmanship and the respect he commanded from his office staff.
For some reason it brought her the memories of her late dad. Once Milind
had some time, he introduced Prachi to his staff. He asked her to arrange
organize certain meetings and wanted her to give her opinion about a
project proposal and left for a meeting. He didn't have a clue about what
Prachi's background was. She was not only the daughter of a great
businessman Inder Shah but also a former student of business
administration studies. Prachi had worked in Shah industries during her
summer holidays and business was no new to her. She promptly and
efficiently did what she was asked to do and even wrote down some
critical comments on the project proposal. It was almost evening when
Milind returned and Prachi had been out for a cup of coffee with some of
the staff by then. Milind went through Prachi's work and was pleasantly
shocked to see the clean piece of work and her comments on the
proposal were very relevant. While he was sincerely appreciating Prachi's
work, someone suddenly entered his office without knocking.
"Do you not have the manners to knock?", said Milind.
"Why did you do this to me Milind? I am not able to take it. I have only
realized how much I want you in my life now. Please end this torture you
are doing to me. I am not in my senses for the last 3 days", said Ayesha in
tears.
"I didn't do anything you didn't do, though it was not as cheap as you
did. I left to Turkey asking you to wait for me. I come back here and see
that you are not only married to someone else, but playing dirty tricks in
business. What right you have today to cry in front of me? Just get out of
here and go out of my sight", Milind pointed the doors to Ayesha.
"Milind, I married Neev to enter Shah industries. Neev really helped me to
learn business. You always knew that I hated Shah family more than you
did. When I didn't hear from you for years, I thought you have forgotten
me. And I couldn't see Prachi, Soumya enjoying what I didn't and their
mother getting the respect my mother was denied. I did all this in a fit of
revenge and anger. But after Neev saw me doing bad to Prachi and her
family, our relationship is not going anywhere. And you didn't even let
me enjoy my victory over Shah industries for a day. Today I have lost
everything, you, Neev or Shah industries. Milind if anyone can understand
me, it's you. I know you still love me. I know you have married Prachi for
revenge and not love. Please end all this. Please give me a life Milind.
Let's go back to our olden days of happiness, I am tired of this business,
revenge and all this game," begged Ayesha.
"Ayesha, after I saw you as someone else's wife, ignoring me as if you
didn't even know me, I have moved far away from you. You didn't even
care for my father or Sukruti while I was away. How could you be so self-
centred Ayesha. And this is not the Ayesha I had loved or expected. I have
my own priorities and issues in life now where your existence doesn't
matter. You better go away from me and let me live my life. Ayesha, I
never lied to you when we were friends. For the sake of the good
moments we shared, I won't lie to you today either. I have no feelings left
for you. If at all I have anything for you, that's disgust. Understand this
and go out of my life. It is good for both of us", Milind's voice was very
clear.
"Milind, no… You can't say this. Please for God's sake.." Ayesha held on
to his collar, while Prachi was about to knock the door, she saw Ayesha
close to Milind from the window. It made her feel some sort of pain that
she walked away from there.
"Ayesha, I don't want to kick you out of here, go away yourself", Milind
removed her hands from his collar with force. "Milind I am not going to
beg anymore, but I know that you will never be happy with Prachi. You
will repent marrying that daughter of a cheater and I won't be there for
you when you realize this". Ayesha walked out of his office slamming the
door. She met Prachi in the reception area and gave her a furious look.
Prachi couldn't help her tears.
Milind walked out of the office after a couple of minutes and also met
Prachi on his way out. He asked her to join him to go home. Both of them
were in their own worlds of thoughts and didn't look at each other. Once
they were home, Milind went inside the bedroom and slept. Prachi spoke
to her mother and father in law for a while and went inside her room
which she had to share with Milind now. She saw that Milind was rubbing
his head and figured out that he was having a headache. She got him
some tea and went to apply some balm on his head. Though he drank the
tea didn't allow her to apply the balm. "You don't have to do this, I can
take care of myself", said Milind while applying the balm himself. His
headache did thank Prachi in silence for the tea and the balm. He went to
sleep sometime later without eating and Prachi didn't dare to wake him
up for a dinner. She told the other members of the family that they had
dinner outside and found a place in the corner of the large bed Milind
was sleeping on and went to sleep.
