Part 10:
Wanting to broden his career horizons, Neev joined a management
course in London. Neev in a way forced Ayesha to join him as he thought
it was not a good idea to leave Ayesha alone. He had convinced himself
Prachi out of his mind seeing her happy with Milind. He had loved her,
wanted her to be happy and today he only wished Prachi's happiness
stays forever. On the other hand, Ayesha would only go uncontrollably
angry looking at Prachi's happiness. The fact that Milind's happiness was
with Prachi didn't make Ayesha feel good. Milind was more of her
obsession than love. When Neev told her about his plans to go abroad,
she dual mindedly agreed to join him. She wanted to destroy Prachi's
happiness as seeing Prachi happy destroyed her peace of mind. Ayesha
wanted to take a break from this to calm herself down and decide about
what she could do. Milind was least bothered about Ayesha's leaving.
Prachi and Milind got used to each other so much that they would share
with to each other every little thing. They had become man and wife in
real sense. Prachi still worked in Milind's office and Milind had given her a
managerial position. He had realized Prachi can do much more than just
being his secretary. Prachi was a bit disappointed at the fact that she
wouldn't get to see Milind all the time but was happy to face the
challenges of her new responsibilities.
At home, everyone was seeing a different face of Milind. He wasn't the
angry grumpy Milind whom no one could approach. He had become a
true family man. He would go to temple with the elders, take Sukruti and
Soumya for shopping, attend parties and host parties for his friends and
last but not the least, he would always be thinking of making his Prachi
happy. Aalaap had learnt to be serious in life and was doing his best in
Milind's company. Milind also had softened his views on Aalaap.
"Prachi, I am not going to that wedding. It's a very distant relation and for
that I am not ready to fly to London and then holiday plans. If you want to
go with them, please do. I can handle everything alone". Milind was really
firm when he said so.
"Milind, Papa is also going. If you don't want a holiday at least we could
go only for the wedding. I know they are distant relatives, but still, they
have invited us with so much love". Prachi tried to convince Milind.
"I said I am not going and that's it. You go if you want". Saying that Milind
knew very well, Prachi wouldn't go if he doesn't. She wouldn't even like
going for a restaurant without him leave alone London.
Prachi's efforts went in vain as Milind was very firm on this decision.
Prachi was personally not very keen on going but for family's sake she
was trying to pursue Milind. Finally she decided to stay back too telling
everyone that Milind and she are very busy with office work. However, she
knew that they were not so busy and they could have managed a holiday
leaving the company in the hands of their staff. She wondered why Milind
was so adamant over this matter. She was angry that Milind didn't
explain very well the reason for this. However, at heart she knew he
would definitely have a solid reason so she didn't nag him over that.
After everyone left, surprisingly Milind and Prachi didn't talk much. Milind
gave a huge assignment to Prachi to keep her busy. Prachi had worked
hard on that assignment for 3 days and the 4th day she wanted to take a
holiday. But Milind refused her that asking her to prepare a presentation
on the assignment. Prachi wanted a holiday to celebrate their wedding
anniversary. She wanted to give him a surprise and wanted to do some
shopping and cooking for him. She was very disappointed at his denial
though she did not show it. It was one year of their now. But then she
remembered the conditions in which they married. She thought may be it
is not worth celebrating that. However, the fact that Milind didn't even
remember it hurt her. Though it was a marriage for money, marriage for
revenge, they had found love in the end. They were a happy couple.
Prachi had always respected this marriage no matter what the
background was.
That morning by the time Prachi woke up, Milind had left. He left a note
for her by the bed that he was going for an early morning meeting in the
other corner of the city and will see her in the afternoon. He had also
reminded her that she had to finish the presentation at any cost today.
Prachi was very sad that they didn't even wish a happy anniversary that
day. She had tears in her eyes thinking that her husband had time to
write her a long note about the presentation but not wish her for the
anniversary. She didn't feel like calling him at all. She got ready and left
for office.
Milind came to the office in the afternoon. He called Prachi to his cabin
asking her to bring the presentation. Before she could say something, he
grabbed her laptop, went through the presentation, appreciated her work.
"Thanks Prachi for doing all this so quickly. Now we need to present it to
our foreign delegates. I think you are not dressed good enough for a
formal presentation. Why don't you go home and dress in a saree, may be
the green saree you have. The green colour will speak for environment as
this deal deals with environment friendly stuff too. The meeting is in the
Beachside hotel. It would be great if you can reach yourself there. I will
bring the laptop and everything else. Take a taxi as I will have my car
there and I will see you there at around 7". Milind didn't allow Prachi to
talk any further and got engaged in a call.
Prachi felt more hurt and angry. Instead of taking her out for a dinner,
bring her a new saree for the anniversary, Milind is trying to cash in a
business deal. However, she was a very professional woman and she
wanted to present the deal well. She was wearing a jeans and kurta top
that day and she didn't think herself that it was appropriate for a
presentation. She went home, got dressed in the only green saree she had
and left for the hotel.
When she reached the hotel, there was a message for her at the
receptionist that said an apology from Milind as he was going to be late
and the delegates were going to be late as well. Prachi felt even more
upset now. She sat at the reception and her eyes filled up thinking about
the whole day. Thoughts of the one year she has spent with Milind were
also lingering at the back of her mind.
It was almost 8 when Milind came. Milind was dressed casually smart and
he looked very relaxed and happy, nothing like his serious looks for the
whole day. Secretely admiring her husband's look Prachi wondered where
the delegates were. As soon as he saw Prachi he walked straight to her
and hugged put his arm around her shoulder. A waitress lead them to a
table of two in the outside area of the restaurant that opened to the
beach.
Prachi smelled something weird going on. She sat in front of Milind and
stared into his eyes. "You look very beautiful" Milind said not even taking
his eyes away from her for a second. He took out something from his
pocket to say "happy anniversary my dear wife
Prachi, I hope to celebrate this day every year in my life with you, till I am
alive". He held the crystal rose he took from his pocket in front of her.
Prachi held the rose and also Milind's hand in both her hands and tears
started flowing from her eyes. Milind reached out to wipe her tears and
said "Prachi, please don't cry. You should rather laugh at my efforts. Do
you know how hard it was for me to act for the whole day? Well, actually
from a long time. To be honest, this was the reason I didn't want to go to
London. I wanted to be with you, just with you". A playful smile wandered
on Prachi's lips listening to her husband's plans for the special moment.
They had the most romantic dinner there. The sea breeze and the sound
of the waves created an ethereal atmosphere. Milind hardly took eyes off
of Prachi and and he kept on speaking through his eyes sometimes
making her feel happy, sometimes making her blush. He even fed her
most of her food from his hands. Prachi knew her husband loved her. But
she had never thought he would be so romantic. After the dinner, they
walked hand in hand towards the car and drove home.
"Milind, I can never forget this surprise you gave me. This is the happiest
day of my life. Thank you. It is only you who can make me so happy. I
love you Milind. I think I love you is too small a word to say what I feel for
you" Prachi said as they drove home. "Prachi, I love you more than
anything else in my life" Milind felt his eyes wet saying that.
As soon as they reached home, Milind took Prachi in his arms and started
climbing the steps for their bedroom. Prachi felt a bit shy thinking that
the cook might see them. She was looking around. Realising this Milind
said, "Prachi not only the family members are away but I have given off to
our Ramu kaka, maali, drivers and everyone else. It's just you and me
tonight".
Prachi blushed listening to Milind's words. She hid herself besides his
neck while her arms held on to him. He opened the doors of their bed
room with his legs and put Prachi down. Prachi didn't open her eyes but
buried herself into his chest now hugging him tightly. Milind forcefully
moved away from her and asked her to open her eyes. Wondering why he
moved away from her, Prachi slowly opened her eyes and they shined with
surprised happiness. Milind stood watching her from a distance.
The room was decorated with colorful candles. New curtains and carpets
were put on. The bed was decorated with roses and jasmine. Prachi was
mesmerized to see what her husband had created for her. She looked at
Milind and he opened his arms to her inviting her with his eyes. Prachi ran
to him and he lifted her up and whirled around.
Bringing her down as she slid along his body Milind told Prachi "Prachi,
the day after our wedding, I saw you coming down from stairs wearing
this green saree. I fell head over heels for you that day. And I haven't
recovered from it and don't want to recover either". Prachi blushed and
lowered her gaze.
Milind made Prachi sit on the bed and he sat on the floor on his knees. "I
know I didn't give you any sweet memories of our suhaag raat. All I gave
you that day was tears. I know I cannot make up for what I did that day,
but I want to apologize for that with this and I will do this every year
thinking that one day I can make up for what I denied you last year".
"Milind, I love you" Prachi said holding his face with her hands as he too
sat on the bed now. She closed his eyes with her hand and kissed him on
his lips slowly. Milind's hands automatically went up to Prachi's back and
he pulled her closer to tighten her kiss. He kissed her back with the
passion from the bottom of his heart. Prachi broke away from the kiss
and laid down on the bed on her back looking at him intently. Milind
stared at his beauty in green saree from head to toe, which made Prachi's
breath run faster. Her chest was raising up in sensation wanting her man
to hold her tightly. After running his eyes over her, he ran his hand on her
from head to toe making Prachi get goosebumps. Finally surrendering to
the desire, Milind went on her to kiss her deeply. He put his tongue deep
inside her mouth to explore every part of it while she gave herself to him
completely. His hands played with her waist and opened her blouse while
his legs were taking her saree up to expose her legs. Prachi's hands ran
through his hair and trying to bring him more and more close to her. They
undressed each other completely as passion and desire took over them.
Milind went in her as she moved along with him and
in minutes they both reached the highest point of their love.
