Is KYM given the step-motherly treatment - Page 2

GD, the shoddy use of BDs without even bothering with the details only goes to show the regard these guys have for the viewers. They have taken advantage of our Michi weakness for far too long.

Janki, I am reminded of something that Anil V.Kumar said when he was directing KTH on the first anniversary of the serial. He said that it is a challenge to engage the viewer for a late night show and if the story is good and is well done a 11.00 o'clock show can pose stiff competition to a peak time 9.00 o'clock show. He did it while he was there and KTH was a successful show for a fairly long time because of the strong script it had and of the wonderful direction of A.V.Kumar. I hope they do put their act together and get back to the basics of providing a good script. Michi will do the rest.

^^^ AVK did wonders with KYM and BT..I think BT lost one of the best directors ever..He is now directing B.R.Chopras Sujata in sony now.Indrani Halder (the protogonist) said that he is young ,very intelligent.

Kayamath is a show of underutilised potential and missed opportunities. The cycle of never-ending misery for Michi is a direct result of focusing too much on them and ignoring other characters. KYM has a big cast and there should be scope for all of them. I always wondered about Amrita and Premlata. Fine, Premlata is this saintly character but you can't expect her not to be somewhat resentful about Amrita. And what about Somuya, does she have no role except to pass 1 or 2 cute comments and plan parties. What about a love interest for her?

As for the use of BDs, I can pinpoint my loss of interest with in KS, right about the time the BDs seemed to have taken over. There should be all these cute JB scenes with BDs and it completely destroyed the magic for me. I should be more irritated than anything else. I grew up watching quite a lot of American soaps - Days Of Our Lives, Bold & Beautiful, Young & The Restless, Santa Barbara, All My Children and in none of these soaps I ever remember the use of body doubles. 😕

BC, fully agree with you. It is a show with underutilised potential and missed opportunities indeed. The creatives missed out on a golden opportunity of starting off a parallel Neesha track. When you have four powerful performers why not try a shape other than the much flogged love triangle? Neesha's turbulent relationship would have been a good foil for the Michi saga. And yes, Amrita is totally forgotten. She could have had a positive influence on Ayesha. For the first time in so many months we got to hear of a reference being made to her in thursday's episode and finally came to know she is indeed in a hospital and not in SM. Why introduce so many simblings if the story revolves around only one or at the most two? What is happening in the lives of Bobbby and Sowmya? I get the feeling that the show's sensitivity is slowly but surely being lost in the lack of direction in the script. Even the bakwaas KS(sorry for the expression but that is what this once favourite show of mine has become) had story happening around Pia, Rano, Ranvir etc besides JB although even that was limited after sometime. Sadly all we see here is Michi constantly caught between Suki's innumerable problems on the one hand and Ayesha's unhealthy obsession on the other.

BT please pull up your socks ..…..how long will you guys bank on Michi hysteria????
