Part 16:
"Okay Milind! Enough nowâŚlook at the time," Prachi exclaimed as she tried getting out of bed. Milind's strong arm pulled her back down again. She looked down at her husband, who was lying lazily in the bed with a huge grin on his face. She tried to look angry, but he looked so adorable, she couldn't help but smile back at him. After a couple seconds of grinning back and forth, Prachi quickly sprung away from Milind and moved out of his grasp.
"Milind! Look at the time! It is 6pm. Your meeting is in two hours. You need to get ready!" she warned him.
"Yaar Prachi, later. Come back here," Milind pleaded.
Prachi let out a laugh, "Milind! Please get up. I am not joking!"
Groaning, Milind stood up, and grabbed a towel and the outfit lying on the nearby chair and headed into the bathroom. 20 minutes later, Milind emerged in a sexy black business suit and with his beard neatly trimmed and his hair slicked back with gel. He looked to see wear his wife was, and spotted her standing out on the balcony gazing at the harbor. Milind walked up behind her, and smoothly wrapped his arms around her slender waist, and kissed her neck. His small pecks turned more passionate, until finally Prachi moved back.
"Milind are you ready for your meeting?" she asked, trying to distract him from what was really on his mind.
"Yes. I'm not worried at all," he smiled.
"Well Mr. Mishra, good luck! I think you should get going now because you never know what this Sydney traffic is like," she explained.
"Yeah Prachi, you're right. I should be going now. But when I come back I want you to be ready."
"Ready? For what Milind?" asked a curious Prachi.
"Well aren't we going to celebrate my success when I get this contract from Mr. Hussein?" he asked.
Prachi laughed. "Of course Mr. Mishra. Where should we meet?"
Milind moved in close for a kiss, and Prachi moved away, and giggled. "I am only kissing you once you come back with this contract," she teasingly explained.
"Oh Acha! To yeh baat hai! Okay fine Mrs. Mishra, can you meet me in front of the Sydney Opera Theatre at 10pm. I would like to take you on a walk of the harbor, and then have a romantic dinner. What do you say?"
Prachi smiled at her husband, secretly surprised at how romantic he could be. "I would love that," she responded.
Prachi hugged Milind, and waved goodbye to him as he left for his meeting with Mr. Hussein.
While Milind was gone, Prachi called her house and spoke to her mother, Soumya, and Bobby. She was extremely happy to learn that Milind's baba had come back home and that he was no longer mad at Milind. Prachi's mother, Premlatha, had convinced Mishra Ji that at the picnic when he had heard Milind speak harshly about Prachi, Milind had just been letting off steam. Premlatha had explained to him that Milind and Prachi had just had a simple fight and that Milind had been overreacting. Prachi was happy to learn that Mishra Ji was at peace once again. He was happy to know that his son and daughter-and-law had no problems with each other. She even spoke to her father-in-law, who explained to her that Milind can be a little hot-headed at times, and he told her that she was a wonderful bahu. Prachi was so happy to hear that her sasur was happy now, and that there were no lingering misunderstandings. She concluded the phone-call by speaking to her grandmother, and then finally by thanking her mother for her help in dealing with Mishra Ji.
As Prachi was about to hang up the phone, she heard Soumya on the other line.
"DidiâŚwait don't hang up yet!" screamed Soumya.
"Kya huwa Soumya? Is everything okay?" asked a worried Prachi on the other end of the phone.
"Arrey didi, everything is fine. I just wanted to give you some advice," laughed Soumya.
"What?" asked Prachi.
"Well didi, you might not want to admit this, but technically, you and Jiju are on your honeymoon! As far as I know, a wife has to be romantic too! I know you too well Prachi di, and my advice to you is to be more romantic and show Jiju how much you care for him. I can tell how much he loves you. I can see it in his eyes. I know you love him too, but you need to be more expressive."
"Soumya ki bachi! Wow....you're not as innocent as you seem!" laughed Prachi.
"What can I say didi? Watching all these Ekta Kapoor serials has taught me a thing or too"
Prachi laughed some more. "Okay Soumya. Thanks for your advice! I will be sure to remember it!"
"Okay didi! Take care! I love you. Bye"
As Prachi ended her conversation with her sister, she realized that there was some truth to what Soumya had told her. After all, it did seem like Milind was more romantic than her. She really loved him a lot, but she just did not know how to show it. Finally, Prachi got an idea. She was going to make this a night Milind would never forget.
Prachi quickly grabbed her purse and walked downstairs to the hotel lobby, where she saw an exquisite dress store. She walked in and tried on a couple dresses, before she finally chose out a black dress, which she thought, was perfect for the occasion. Prachi purchased the dress. She then ventured outside of the hotel to a nearby shop where she purchased a pair of stiletto black heels, and earrings. Prachi made her way back to the hotel to get ready.
"Milind Mishra," she thought to herself, "I hope you like this."
