and being a guy i have the right to say that Ekta is making us look real bad! on tv i mean the whole mukti thing and the KT rape that happened on holi? i mean that was a piss off and i think sumthin like that also happened in KS jus a while back with Rashi who claims her husband raped her (no words...) Ekta is seriously puttin our image way down to the ground she makes us look like dum ass's on her tv showz and the guys playing the roles (i mean they get paid to act n keep der mouth shut) they are such a let down on screen cuz i can like relate alot to characters like Milz and Prem and when she makes them do stupidness like "attempt to rape" honestly its a piss off she thinks that any guy who has attitude n acts hardcore has to rape sumone on the show no matter what!!! Prem(was accused for raping) Mils(attempt to rape) Ranvir(who didnt rape his wife he jus beats her all the tyme which isn't right also) see where im going with this and im sure there are many other shows of her out there which showed a negative character like Ansh (KSBKBT) or Ranvir (KS) Prem (KZK) jus have to screw up to make them more negative jus for trps shes making a sad case like RAPE entertaining which is stupid she has no life jus keeps making stupid story lines for her dragging dramas 😡 😡 😡 i mean i know ders alot of guys out there in the world who do bad things to women like beat them assault them basically everything sum of em r sitting in prison and sum of em r out there still doing it which is wrong and I know a few personally who are bad kids n hit girls n i tell em its wrong sumtymes i fight them but honestly like i hate a few girls but i dont go round raping them then why does every guy on her stupid show rape the girl he hates??? why tell me why??? for trps ahaha which is stupid cuz this jus makes girls watching the show fear us kind of guys which is wrong were not bad Ekta jus has a sick sick mind

Well to be quite honest these scenes are becoming very common UNFORTUNATELY. Before when people use to hear or see a rape scene they used to close their eyes or scream, nowadays people stare at it blankly becos they just think "here we go again".

it is very hard to hear about women getting raped out there but when one see these scenes, it is heart breaking and it is with regret to say that people actually like these scenes.

I am dusguested by Balaji and all other production house, who use rape as an excuse to raise TRPS or for other reasons. It is more unfortunate to see that these scenes take place in nearly every drama. They try to show that these are serious crime and manipulate us in watching and getting us glued to da drama becos they know that da audience would like to see what happens to da offenders.
These production house disgust me even more because they are makin it so common that people do feel sorry but they dont do neting about it also to me it luks as though they are makin a joke out of these scenes by using it for selfish reasons.

The way ekta uses these scenes for TRP gimick, is just sad, Ok if you want to use it, then fine she would just leave it as if it is a crime, never deal iwth it, thats kekat for us ladies, 😭 leaving half dandling lose plots 😕

@Suhaan: very glad to c a male perspective on this. You guys are right. Its makes me sick to watch such things. But honestly these things happen in real life.

Date rapes happen, rapes in marriage happen, and there may be a million wife beaters in this world and they happen more often than we like to admit. And no matter how much we scream and condone such actions...the reality of it is that even in a country like US women are so impacted by rape and domestic violence that many don't even tell anyone that it happened to them. They live their lives traumatized by it and afraid to confront because the society really doesn't let them off so easily after they speak up (and its true admit it). Even after all the institutions and organizations that are set up to help such victims, when it comes down to it...especially in India, women who leave their husbands or accuse them in public are not received well by the society no matter what the circumstance. Yes the city bred people will like to disagree with me and talk about how far women have come and how independent they are...but having been witness to the lives of many women who have had unfortunate lives i can say this with surety that even today the majority of India is male chauvinist and that includes the female population too. Fortunately i am blessed with a beautiful family (touch wood), but I have seen mothers showing double standards toward their daughters and raising their sons to be "head of the house" giving them the larger portion of the food and money and raising their daughters to always obey & remain mute in front of the "man of the house". And all of this is happening in this century.

Ok before i go off topic...my point is that some of what we see on these serials is a reflection of what is sadly reality today. Many men think that they are not man enuf (and plz note i said many men and not all men) until they have subdued a woman. And many women even believe this. Like someone mentioned before, violent sex is often fantasized by women but when it comes down to it there is not a soul on this earth that wants to be raped. And that includes men...cause i know men don't want to be forced into sex either. There is nothing more invasive than someone touching you without your permission be it your spouse or someone you love.

It is an actual incident that while watching such a rape scene on TV between a "husband" "wife" someone who was watching it with me asked, "Why can't she just sleep with him? He is her husband afterall"...i had to close my eyes and pray real hard so that i don't get up and slap that person. But such is the reaction of the people who watch this. So even tho the sad reality of these situations are brought in front of the educated mass who choose to conveniently overlook these realities in their society, it also gives a very wrong, wrong message to the not so educated viewers. These characters become their heroes and their actions become justified.

It is sad that the actors in these serials can't stand up to the production houses and make a move against such portrayals as they care more about their careers.

I remember seeing Ekta's interview where she said something about the responsibility of every entrepreneur toward the community they do business in. My take is that this responsibility does not end at providing jobs to the community but also in upholding the correct moral guidelines. Usually businesses have work place ethics to boast about but a business like the entertainment business can't stop at just work place ethics...they have to be very responsible in what they are showing thru their medium. TV is the most powerful tool of influence and if the people behind the shows are not careful and ethical about what they show...we'll have a future generation of gudas & mawalis & sluts with absolutely no moral center.

And thanks for the male opinion. Up until you this forum topic seemed completly one sided. Not only is this portrayal of sexual abuse reflecting badly on its victims, but on men in general too. Not all "badboys" are abusive. What sickens me most of rape and near-rape scenes is the complete disregard of accuracy. Production houses and the like emphasize what they need for ratings (tears, recrimations, court case drama) and don't even touch topics that need to be touched (psychological trauma, victim impact). Nor do they touch of the fact men with a touch image can be gentle. lol.

My reaction when coming across a scene like that is "oh no"....then afterwards i just shut it out of my mind. I couldnt do it this time. I just got so pissed off. 😡 Not b/c what happened, but how quickly Prachi seemed to recover. The quick and seemingly easy recovery belittles the experiences of women everywhere.
