I can't believe I nearly missed your epilogue ' it was simply wonderful. Thanks Niki
It's hard to imagine but there definitely are families who will shun richer families for their daughters ' Yes, there are, know a couple of them myself.
there is a certain stigma attached to wealthy societies however like you've mentioned the Mishra's in this FF are as down to earth as any loving and caring family would be. It is a pity that MICHI missed out on their own pre-marital rituals, but at least they have made up for them through their only son. If Milind had those rituals, there would not have been Michi. so it was just as well, he missed out on those!
Opti you described the conversation between father and son so beautifully, and Milind's advice was very simple and accurate, where he was able to draw so much from his own experiences; equipped with this knowledge and understanding no groom can ever feel the jitters again, paving the way for a healthier and happier union for two people who are starting out in life as one. I especially agreed with the parts where Milind said ' 'giving rather than taking', 'keeping all communication channels constantly open' and 'don't use physical intimacy as a solution to your problems' ' I think Milind learnt the latter the hard way, Yes, he drew heavily from his own experiences although he tried to make general observations which would suit any couple
and finally the all important respect ' in fact Opti all the advice that Milind gave to his son was so brilliant, I think that all couples who embark on the journey of marriage would do well to read this. Thanks. I too have learnt quite a bit over the years and am still learning. I am no model wife and my hubby would vouch for it. Luckily he is still putting up with me!
The incident between Milind and his daughter in law was so funny and yet extremely embarrassing. Luckily her father in law is Milind any other guy it may have been difficult for Swati to ever face him again, at least Milind made sure later that this would not be the case between them. These types of mistakes are never a problem when the people involved are clear hearted, mature and clear minded. This will only help to strengthen their relationship. Yes, it would.
I see we've progressed to Sassuma now, later I'm sure it'll be Dadima ' I doubt Milind will ever stop teasing his wife ' now it's her grey hair. Ishan truly is a carbon copy of his father. Milind will never cease to pull Prachi's legs and I think she loves it when he does that.
Looks like Prachi has certainly done her homework thoroughly and found the perfect match for her daughter. Prachi is quite a smart woman in these matters.
Awww the ending was so sweet and Milind saying that Prachi surpassed all his expectations ' yes she did and they truly were the Greatest of Expectations that any man can ever hope for. Prachi did surpass all his expectations.
Well Opti this was another job well done ' congratulations. Thanks again Niki
I think (at least I hope) that this will be my very last post on this forum (unless there is something that I feel is imperative to say). I hope not because I am writing a one shot FF. Dont know when I will finish it and post.
A big thank you to you Opti for being a huge inspiration to me during this stage of my life ' I will never forget you and all that you stand for ' through all that you have ever written, FFs and other comments you've made, to me you have always come across as a very grounded, fair 'minded and principled person and I respect that immensely ' I am not at all perfect and quite flawed. Please do not put me up on some pedestal.
I wish you and all your family all the best for the future - Thanks and never say goodbye - hope we'll get an opportunity to chat again🤗🤗🤗Wish you and your family all the very best in life.
