I know Munee. you were the trigger point although there were others like Saima, Rima and JC who were goading me to try. After your PM, I sent that first part to JC to seek her opinion. In fact I had written that part way back in June 2008 but did not have the guts to start the fic. It was a pleasure journey indeed with constant encoruagement from people like you but I do not think I want to embark on another one just yet.

I always wondered why Optimist doesn't write FFs before you started this one. I remember reading several parts of your FF at once after my vacation last Nov/Dec. The flow was so good that I didn't need to take breaks in between. The best thing about your writing was those little details (which gave the FF a reality touch) you gave- like tincture, Crocin tablets, Michi's finance work sheets, the chawl Mini India, festivals, characters like Mala, Venkat, Manju etc. Last but not the least- Michi triplets were the highlight of your FF. The story was predictable, but that didn't make it uninteresting at all. Because you wrote it so well, with your command on the language and with your attention to details.

Thank you so much Opti Akka for this FF. It's was such a pleasure to read. And special thanks to giving us your time that too with quick updates.

P.S. Your Ayesha- Loved her so much. If I have to choose my favorite character from your FF, I will have a dilemma between her and Milind.

I share the same feeling. I hated it when I gave a couple of hours everyday to write updates for FFs and not reading the research articles I used to print everyday. I had to forcefully stop myself from writing and I have decided not to watch any soap after this and it does look like I will live up to my resolution as I feel disgusted with KYM now.

thanx for sharing this post with us, its nice to know how u began ur FF journey...your posts have always been intriguing and written really well and when i saw that u intended to write a FF i knew it was going to be brilliant. thanx for writing this FF for us opti, u gave us a michi chawl track, a hot headed milsi and triplets...it was a treat reading michi's journey and it reminded me of the initial michi marriage days in the serial...Thank You!!!
thank u JC for encouaging opti to give this FF a go, if it wasnt for u we might have been deprived of another michi journey :D

I never considered myself as much of a story teller. Always felt that I was too unimaginative and critical for it. that is why I steered clear of it till I was dragged into the whirlpool. Yes, if it had not been for JC I would not have started writing this FF as I was so low in self confidence as you can see from my PMs to her. I felt it would be too big a commitment to accept because I cant leave it mid way if I felt bored or tired.
Frankly I did not think I had enough masala to keep it going for so long. But then there were so many things about the show which I was disappointed in including the fact that they did not show the development of other characters; no festivals were celebrated happily; there was no chawl track which was my dream; there were no Michi honey moons inspite of their marrying 4 times; Michi were not together to welcome their baby into this world- the whole joy of preg was absent. So I decided that my fic will have all that the show did not give us and ended up writing over 250 pages!
As to the quick updates, I could not make them slower even if I wanted to because my mind was fully occupied with Michi, the reason I now want to break free.
Thanks for loving my Ayesha. I tried improving all the characters, except Alaap, over their show version. Afterall since it is fantasy might as well go all the way with it even if in reality there may not be anyone like them.
