I am glad you're enjoying the story so far :) I figured MICHI needed a little humor in their lifes, since we're not going to see that anytime soon in the show, why not in FFs 😊 I'll try to make it longer..though each time I think it's long, it ends up being not long enough😆

Thank you! Yes they're already married, and Prachi's waiting for Milind's arrival. So far the story is mostly in flashback to show the events leading up to their marriage

😊 Milind has never thought beyond revenue and profit, it's high time he start diverting some of his attention to Prachi, isnt it? Neev and Ayesha were going to be the comic relief in this FF, but seems like Michi's awkwardness is taking care of that for now.

Love your humor Ada. Enjoying your update very much. Just that you keep it so short. ..but regular updates help. 🤗 So i understand when you write everyday its gotta be short. This FF is on the fast track to becoming my favorite. Thankyou so much...this was much needed break from the dreary atmosphere of the show and the other FFs currently active FFs.

Chapter 3 (II)

The rest of the week blurred by as Prachi counted down the days until D-day. Her family had been apprehensive regarding the marriage, especially since the news of Milind and Prachi's alleged love affair had shocked them to say the least.

Thankfully, Milind's father, whom everyone called "Mishra Ji" had assured Prachi's mother and brother that Prachi would be well taken care of in their house. Eventually a wedding date had been set for a week later. It was really going to happen. Prachi's resolve slightly faltered. In her haste to save her father's empire, she'd overlooked what her newly acquired status as Mrs. Milind Mishra implicated. She was going into a new family. She was going to be a daughter-in-law, a sister-in-law. She was going to be the lady of the house. No matter how businesslike her and Milind's relationship was going to be, she couldn't treat his family with the same cold formality. She had been raised better.

Insecurity seeped through her. Had she been a good daughter? A good sister? Would she be a good daughter-in-law? A good sister-in-law? And though she hated to consider it, a good wife?

As the week progressed, Prachi's fears multiplied. She didn't really know where this sudden insecurity had stemmed from. Perhaps it was because she'd always regarded Mishra Ji and Sukriti as part of her inner circle. And both she and Milind were playing with their emotions to fulfill their own selfish ambitions. Prachi promised herself that she'd do all that was within her power to keep them happy. She supposed it was her atonement.

The day had finally arrived. Within a few hours, she'd be bound by tradition and sanctity to Milind Mishra. The day was spent by Ayesha and her mother fussing over Prachi. Prachi indulged them, savoring her last moments as Prachi Shah. Both women soon left to attend to pending work, and Prachi cast a wary glance towards her wedding outfit. It was no doubt an exquisite piece of work, deep crimson and embroidered with ornate gold thread. Her mother had liked it so much, she'd immediately bought it, without waiting for Prachi's approval. Not that it mattered much, Prachi always relied on her and her siblings to make or help make such decisions.

The baraat arrived; Prachi could hear the resonating dhol outside her window. Clutching her heavy lehnga, she waddled over to the wall on the other side of her room. Here she'd hung various art pieces, and photos. Ignoring the others, she picked one off. Her family portrait; a snapshot of what her entire life had amounted to in the past 25 years. She was leaving all that she knew, all that she cared about behind. To say she was frightened would be the understatement of the year.

Milind stood in front of the door of Shah Mansion, waiting for Premlata and Prachi's other female relatives to finish with the rituals. Once inside, he cast an uninterested glance around. This ritual, this entire ceremony was a complete farce. If it were up to him, he'd have gladly settled for a court marriage. In a matter of moments, they would be bound to each other for eternity in holy matrimony.

As he sat in front of the sacred fire, Milind contemplated how complicated his life had become in the last few weeks. Two weeks ago, he was a calculative, rigid man. He knew what he wanted, and how he was going to get it. Milind wasn't one to get manipulated into things he didn't want to do. And then Prachi Shah happened. He mused that if India ever had a hurricane, he'd propose to call it "Hurricane Prachi". How easily and tactfully she'd turned his life upside down.

It was true what they said about him. He was egotistic, he was ambitious, he was power-hungry to the point of megalomania. Though he never indulged in unethical, unlawful business practices, his ruthless ambition had driven him farther than anyone could have ever imagined. He did things his way, and the world could burn for all he cared. But ambition has been the tragic flaw of many a hero. It was due to his need to succeed, his need to prove to the world who he was that landed him before this holy pyre in the first place.

Success was his weakness, and Prachi played off on that. He had to admire her insight. She might not be the best businesswoman, but she knew when a golden opportunity presented itself, and struck when the iron was hot. In many ways they were similar. Milind supposed that if he were to walk a mile in her shoes, a very uncomfortable mile at that, he'd tread the same footsteps. They both were fiercely protective of what they considered valuable, and no sacrifice was too big to guard what was priceless. For Prachi, it'd been her father's legacy; for Milind, his eventual success.

And so, by some warped logic, Prachi made sense to Milind.

Lovely as always Ada. Hurricane Prachi indeed. Loved the analogy. Wonder what other changes Milsi will have to put up with. I am sure soon Milind's purpose will not all be about ambition. Her softness is going to creep into him.Cant wait for that to happen.
