Abhinav bindra is NOT the youngest to win RG award

The makers of kbc made a mistake. When they asked the question about the 18yr old to win the rajiv gandhi award.
They said abhinav bindra was correct, however after some looking up Saina nehwal is the correct answer. Bindra won when he was 21. Nehwal won when she was 20. The lady was actually corect ! Thr kbc pple need to get their facts straight !

Abinav Bindra was born on September 28, 1982 and he received the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award in 2001.

Khel ratna awards are conducted in the month of august so technically abinav bindra's age was 18 when he received the khel ratna award.

so i guess this should clear your doubts..

And it shows Abhinav Bindra got award in 2009. His name is not there for 2001 awards.

How do I confirm he got the award in 2001?

rajiv gandhi awards and rajiv gandhi khel ratna awards(India's highest sports award)are different

all u need to do is type "rajiv gandhi khel ratna awards" in google and the search list will provide the wikipedia page and there u can check it..

or

type "abinav bindra" in google and check his wikipedia page
