Shah Rukh Khan wins hearts on KBC

Shah Rukh Khan was at his eloquent best on the very first episode of the revived Star Plus show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'.
Many comparisons were made with superstar Amitabh Bachchan when SRK's named as the show's new host was announced. Critics said Shah Rukh was not as attention grabbing as Mr. Bachchan. Some said SRK lacked the strong presence that the show's host required. Others said Shah Rukh did not have the fluency that Big B had.
But SRK proved all the critics wrong on his very first show as the host on Monday night. He was charming, funny and eloquent. But above all, he did not try to imitate Mr. Bachchan, but did his own thing, in his own unique style.
He addressed the audience as "ladies and gentleman, boys and girls" and he opted to hug the contestants rather than just shake hands with them.
To one South Indian contestant who had a tough name (Rama K Gugilla), SRK gave a nickname called 'Gugs Gugilla'. SRK even massaged him on the hot seat when Gugs was feeling tense.
Throughout the show, SRK showed his wit and sense of humour. He even cracked a few jokes on himself. In one such joke he said his main business is giving massage to people. Acting, he said, was just part time. He also made fun of himself when he said that people think he only tries to be stylish in films and doesn't know how to act.
SRK showed his eloquence when he recited a poem in Bengali and also spoke a few funny lines in Telugu.
As a host SRK looked more approachable for the contestants than Mr. Bachchan did. SRK gave high-five to a Bengali contestant whenever a right answer was given. He also told the contestants that whenever they wanted to quit, they should not say the word 'quit', but say: "Shah Rukh, I want to hug you".
To sum it, SRK won many hearts in the studio and undoubtedly among the TV viewers in his new role as the host of KBC.
