I watched Beyhadh2. Those were the days when SonyLiv did not have geo restrictions for my country at least! I found the show refreshing and loved all the characters. If I recall correctly, the show stopped abruptly during the covid pandemic and I attributed covid as the reason for the way it ended. The show had a fab cast! I have been wanting to see Shivin in a good project since then! Luckily I saw Rajat in Ishq Par Zor Nahi....another show which started really well, and then seemed to lose its way until they pulled it off citing low TRP. That show really made me laugh in the beginning! Jen is a powerhouse, and probably one of my fav actors. It's crazy that an actor like Jen is limited to TV. She's better than many actors from Bollywood!

I wish that KA had been made as a Web series without the limitations of ITV. I love grey characters and seeing them evolve.

I really liked it too…and Jennifer is really good! She and Shivin had great chemistry. I read somewhere that the makers offered to move it to OTT but Jennifer refused.

And agree Katha would have been great on OTT. They could have done better justice to the ONS and it’s aftermath with far more intensity. And would not have had to water down the issues and make Viaan into a saint for TRP audience😅! Esp with Aditi and Adnan it could have become a really good dark classic. Grey characters make for compelling drama 😊!

Anyway hope Katha does not meet the same fate as Beyhadh 2. They should allow this story to be told properly as envisioned by the makers if they have given them the platform.

This is interesting. Mango wrote some really great posts on Viaan's character, and I agree with her. For a person such as Viaan who has had to bear the burden of seeing his father leave, his mother breaking down in front of him, living a reverse role of being the adult in his dysfunctional relationship with his mother and shutting himself off from the world and functioning as a machine, I do not feel that the character arc is actually realistic. I understand that Viaan let go and gave in to his feelings of being in love but I feel that this would have played out differently in the real world. I would have expected Viaan to retain his maturity and intensity, and adopt a cautious approach towards Katha. People don't just start smiling like Viaan did. I don't even understand why he took a backseat in Earth Con. I still remember the Viaan from the first few eps and the way he dealt with Abdali. This Viaan is nowhere to be seen anymore. I agree that people change but I have rarely seen people let go of their inherent characteristics to this extent. He defers to Katha in everything, and treats her as if she is an expert in everything. Why will a mature and intelligent guy like Viaan even share his feelings with a child? I understand that he is reliving his childhood via Aarav but I would expect him to still behave rationally as an adult.

Mili will probably be laughing reading this post. I am Team Viaan but even I can admit that liberties have been taken with his character to the extent that we cannot relate current Viaan with initial Viaan.

Lately, I keep expecting Viaan to stand up to Katha and not let her walk over him. I loved the scene where he told her to respect his decision. I expect more of this...just give me firm Raghuvanshi and I will be happy.

Having said all this, I don't over-analyse the show as much and enjoy it while watching. I have friends here who make me go in analysis mode🤣

I would love to read your POV on Viaan's character arc😊

Word for everything in bold! In my mind Viaan’s character arc was supposed to be very different. And I remember expressing my disappointment at what they did to his character. Inner angst and childhood trauma does not vanish overnight like it did on this show. But then I eventually just accepted how the writers gad visualised their version of Viaan like you.

But from last night’s episode it seems they are finally going to deal with his childhood trauma and the scars it left. His fears about his inner demons affecting his relationship with his own child were very real. I just hope they do not turn that journey into a two-three episode issue and resolve it like they have done every other serious issue in the show. This could give us the real Viaan. But they have a habit of glossing over deeper issues so I will not keep my hopes too high.

I haven't watched the latest ep yet. They started glossing over issues once the audience rejected Ehsan turning grey. That's when they deviated from what they were planning to show, and seem to be pleasing people on twitter. I am used to audience influencing shows now. The end result is always worse than what writers initially planned, and people like us feel the disconnect for we did not simply sign up for sunshine but expected rain also!

Why is Katha getting bashed? 🤡 Did I put on blinders?

CEO or not, it is the job of every employee to contribute to the work on hand, isn't it? The way I look at it is that only with this kind of thorough discussion and debate can you fine tune any project, paper or an assignment. So, I wasn't offended by Katha's diatribe in the conference room. She seemed passionate coming from the perspective of a parent. I could totally relate to the discussion in the conference room both from what I do every day and also from the vantage point of a parent.

I won't fault Viaan for overlooking the point of safety of the kids far removed from parents and dwellings, as he has no experience of the heart pounding moments when your child is not visible in the playground even for a minute. It is then not wrong for people who have been there and done that to point out, so the project of this scale is well thought out😎

@bold, same thinking I have. Infact we have been encouraged to counter question/argument even against architect/senior developer. I once give feedback review of an intern and there was a point how much valid question they asked?

In fact Katha was more on fact in meeting room and only when everybody left, she become personal. So I don't think she disrespect Viaan in front of everybody.

I will share my daily stand up meeting. Recently our product owner (PO) is changed and now there is fight almost everyday between our component owner (CO) and PO. In our team almost all are introvert, so only CO talk wrt developer point of view when PO only concern with clients perspective. And I think it gives us better overview of what need to be done.

Regarding Katha, she is always direct and rude when frustrated. I remember a scene where she was talking rudely with her CA friend who is helping her in raising fund.

Double standard of Katha.

Katha want to keep an eye on children playing on park but she didn't go to Aarav's Karate tournament where chance of getting hurt is more.

Oh my ! I don't know what to say, Bhavi❤️

Please jump in anytime my friend. This is an open forum and you should be free to express your opinions wherever possible or whatever tickles you,

It is just that, there are a few of us who have watched a previous show together and are familiar with each other's idiosyncrasies. Some of us are highly opinionated nuts ( me🤡) and love to hammer down good debates. Some are really funny too. So, it is truly a good mix of people. Most of us, even if we disagree, we do it with respect, and try to put our points across.
Look at Shalzie and me🤣

Mili, it's come to my mind lately....what if I was on the previous forum during the time you guys were writing essays? Would we view the show in the same lens? I don't do it intentionally but I was fully Team A. He was the only reason for me to watch the show. I love strong characters, who never compromise on their inner core.

I feel like Katha still retains the core essence of what has been shown since the beginning. Same cannot be said for Viaan. Smriti wrote a post on Viaan's characterisation, which I agree with fully. Since Ehsan reacted the way we did, I feel like the writers are deliberately making Viaan act like an idiot at times. I feel like we are on track to get a more balanced Viaan.

Bhavi's post was probably one of the cutest posts which I have come across. You should just jump in my friend. It's what all of us do😊
